Avatar f tn Orgasms do cause uterine contractions. If it continues or gets stronger it you start bleeding a lot, you should call your doctor or L&D. Otherwise some stomach cramping is normal. Evena little bleeding (spotting) is normal.
Avatar f tn labor pains, also known as Braxton Hicks contractions. These irregular uterine contractions are perfectly normal and may start to occur in your second trimester, although more commonly in your third trimester of pregnancy. They are your body's way of getting ready for the "real thing.
Avatar f tn During the first and second trimester vaginal exams are usually performed based on the presence of findings such as complaints of uterine contractions, vaginal bleeding or vaginal discharge. Avatar f tn For me I could just tell because the contractions were agony. Not to mention I just had a feeling it was labour. Braxton Hicks can start as early as the first trimester. The uterus contracts even when not pregnant (an orgasm is technically a contraction) it's just bit usually noticed until something is in it. An increase in discharge can be normal, but it could also be your water. How far along are you, and are you having any leaking when you're lying down?
1640871 tn?1321673746 It's definitely fine up until I think your third trimester...at that point, it causes uterine contractions and could cause preterm labor. Even then, I think that would only be if you mbated 100x's a day!
Avatar f tn Today just feels completely off for me. I'm 26 weeks, second pregnancy, haven't really had any complications. But today I just feel... ugh! Had sex this morning and had light pink bleeding after, it stopped quickly. Baby is still moving, but I feel twinges of uterine cramps, very light. Just checked my pressure, it's fine. My ankles and feet are sore but not swollen. And I'm slightly emotional because I'm not sure why I feel so strange.
Avatar f tn Could be uterine contractions. Oxytocin (the hormone that makes you orgasm) is responsible for contractions when you go into labor. Practice contractions post orgasm are totally normal although not always comfortable! Drink some water and lay down for a while to relax them away.
Avatar f tn I was reading about chamomile earlier today & said causes uterine contractions....anyone ever heard of this!?
Avatar n tn If you can find an anatomical picture of your womb while pregnant you'll find that there is a long cervix that is shut tight between your baby and the vagina (where the penis goes). Baby is not in one sac but TWO and surrounded by a lot of fluid. Those prostglandins are absolutely wonderful, especially in the late trimester, for thinning out the cervix. They don't cause contractions. Orgasms cause uterine contractions. Unless you're at risk for preterm labor sex is fine.
Avatar f tn They say, a fully ripe papaya is not considered dangerous, a papaya that is at all unripe contains a latex substance that triggers uterine contractions and may cause a miscarriage. 1 The papaya enzyme that helps soothe indigestion is called papain, or vegetable pepsin. Papain is found in the fruit's latex and leaves. 1 Researchers have noted that unripe papaya latex acts like prostaglandin and oxytocin, which the body makes to start labor.
Avatar f tn Braxton Hicks also known as prodromal labour or practice contractions, or incorrectly as false labour, are sporadic uterine contractions that sometimes start around six weeks into a pregnancy. However, they are not usually felt until the second trimester or third trimester of pregnancy Hope this helps!! Don't worry, everything is fine! I was very concerned as well. It hurts like a ***** huh.. Haha!
Avatar n tn You should be okay to masturbate and have sex all the way up until your water breaks, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Yes, orgasms do cause uterine contractions, but unless your body and baby are ready they won't be strong enough to start labor.
Avatar f tn I thought when you get into the second trimester, your energy begins to return and you feel better. I'm so tired lately it's just as bad as the first trimester. I'm 15 weeks and I am still getting naseous time to time. I am so exhausted. Does anyone feel like this?
Avatar f tn Finally at week 13 any other mom's just start their second trimester how are you feeling
Avatar f tn Today I started week 14, my second trimester! One third down, two more to go. Can't believe I'm that far along already. I guess I'll have to start sharing the news soon, or my stomach will do it for me, haha. :) Anyone else in their second trimester? (Some people consider week 13 the start of the second trimester, I do realize this if you're one who does.
9798995 tn?1407136289 I definitely felt best during my second trimester.
Avatar n tn cerclages themselves can cause problems, including infection and induction of uterine contractions, as the body reacts to a stitch around the opening to the uterus. a well designed study published in the medical journal lancet suggested the benefits of cerclage are outweighed by its risks only in patients who have had three miscarriages in a row, and when the miscarriages were highly suggestive of a weakened cervix, i.e.
Avatar f tn I am 21 weeks pregnant with my second child and I know it sounds crazy but it feels like I'm having braxton Hicks already. Can it really be braxton hicks already? Any one know what this means or has anyone had this same thing this early?
Avatar f tn The scar on the uterus can cause a weakness in the uterine wall and the stretching that occurs during pregnancy or the strong contractions of labour can cause the scar to become thin or begin to separate. In practice this happens in only 0.5–2% of women. This is known as ‘scar dehiscence’ and it doesn’t usually cause any problem. However, if the uterine scar tears open, causing bleeding and other complications, it is called ‘uterine rupture’ and is a serious risk to both mother and baby.
Avatar f tn I have known women who ski during second trimester, though they are admittedly good skiers. My daughter is in Crosssfit with a woman who continued workouts until the last week. It's what your muscles are trained for that counts. The fetus is well protected. Which said, lifting weights requires proper posture and lifting with the legs, not the back. When your bump gets in the way of doing it right, sometime in the third trimester (?), you should ask for help when necessary.
512442 tn?1216259500 I did not know about the uterine pulsation one... one more thing to add to my list of symptoms I suppose LoL. Thanks for the post!

5661790 tn?1395604800 If you get Braxton hicks, use them to practice relaxing during contractions. It lessens the pain by a LOT. Look up the Bradley method of childbirth.
