In view of the paucity of information on the use of AZP during pregnancy we investigated this subject in a prospective, controlled, multicenter study. However, its active metabolite, prednisoLONE, has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA.
Avatar f tn he was on Flovent for a couple years then it stopped working and he was in and out of the ER with asthma attacks and on and off prednisone, 60 mgs for weeks at a time. the best way the dr could describe what happened was by explaining that he developed a tolerance to his Flovent and he was switched to a different inhaled preventative inhaler. He was on Asmanex or a couple years and is now on Advair. He's been on Advair for three years and it seems to be doing the trick.

Water consistency and sometimes with a little blood and mucus in it.
Avatar f tn Dry throat and sinuses leaves your more vulnerable to allergens in the air. Drink lots of water (if your kidneys are okay) and use saline nasal sprays/gels to moisten the inside of your nose. You can even use a cotton swab to coat the inside of your nostrils with a thin layer of petroleum jelly. Sounds gross, but this is the only thing that works for me, especially at night. Dr.

1450484 tn?1284904131 From 9/2005 to 12/2008 I was on daily or alternate day doses of prednisone to maintain control. Avatar f tn I am wondering what kind of results has anyone had from the prednisone and how soon you may have noticed a difference. 1125622 tn?1295420118 These days oral predisone is discouraged in favor of inhalation powers, which are not systemic in nature and pose less problems. Long term daily use of oral (not the inhaler) prednisone (over six months) has been linked to an increase in malignancies due to suppression of the immuine system. We have to distinguish between oral prednisone and inhalation steroids. Both are steroidal polypeptides that function to "tone down" the inflammatory response.
Avatar m tn Something similar happened to me. I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease. Lost most of my hearing in left ear. I take a course of prednisone a couple of times a year to combat vertigo, which accompanies the disease. It all started as you described- a head cold and clogged ears.
Avatar f tn t be found then an increase in inhalers is a good idea. How many puffs/day of your Symbicort do you use? You can use safely up to 8 puffs/day. I have done it for a long time, but my doctor switched me over to pulmicort 400ug x 4 puffs/day and Oxeze 12ug x 3 puffs/day. These two inhalers are the same components that are in Symbicort, but in stronger dosage. I feel at this dosage I don't have what I call mild asthma symptoms all day long that interfere with your daily life.
