Avatar n tn A doctor would test your urine and it would show up on the urine testing stick whether you have nitrite in the urine or not. It is very common after having "rampant sex" to experience this. And it is sometimes referred to as the "Honeymoon Syndrome". You still need to get checked out and it is also very important that you drink plenty of water, about 2 litres. Don't overdo the water drinking as this can be just as dangerous as getting dehydrated.
Avatar n tn First and foremost you need a blood test to check to see if you have diabetes. If you are craving sugar, you maybe a diabetic, and not know. I definately would get checked for diabetes, and send the urine of for analysis, and culture. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I havent done any test ,nor go to doctors. I just think that it is premenopausal syndrom. From your experience- what blood test should I do prior my visit to doctor? Thank you for your attention.
Avatar f tn t interfere with the test result, assuming you read the test within the time stated and there was a line in the test window, that means a positive test, however, positive reslults can be given falsely if the dye has run, fortunately this doesn't happen very often.

Avatar m tn Your risk of HIV from the exposure you describe is low and there is little chance that you have HIV. while IF your partner had HIV exposure during menstruation might slightly increase your risk for infection, the increase is modest. More importantly however, your exposure was condom protected and condoms work. Thus you were not exposed and your sex was safe.
Avatar n tn Hi- I hadn't looked at my Medhelp for while and tonight found your message to me. I see a professional beat me to your post here. Did you start having your menses (periods) just recently? I remember I was quite irregular in timing of menses at first- in fact for so long, a gyn put me on birth control pills to try to get me regulated.
Avatar f tn I use it every four hours and it helps for a litttle while. I am awaiting the results of a urine test. When I go to bed, I wear no underwear and the pain subsides, but when I wake up and move by walking or sitting the pain is back. I can't stand it! It almost feels like a continuous orgasm. I feel for you and I totally know where you are coming from. I wish more women who have this problem would come forward and talk about what works for them.
Avatar f tn Have you had an ultrasound to check for a baby or a doppler scan to check for a baby's heartbeat. Yes there is a chance that you could be pregnant but also equally that you aren't. If you have done a urine test or blood test after about 12 weeks then it may show a negative level for hcg because it stops being made once the placenta takes over progesterone production from the corpus luteum. But there are many, many reasons for not having a period that don't include being pregnant.
Avatar m tn Hi, I mentioned my report details for STD, He told ,VDRL, HIV as Non reactive, and urine and culture test:- GRAM STAIN : 1-3 Pus cells and Occasional epithelial cells were seen CULTURE : No significant growth in culture.
Avatar m tn Combination tests provide definitive results at 4 weeks past exposure while tests that only test for antibodies do not provide definitive results until 8 weeks following exposure. There is no longer any reason for persons to need to wait until 8 weeks after exposure to test for HIV an expect reliable results.

Avatar m tn I was in the hospital for an unrelated issue on September 4th and before they gave me medicine I had a negative pregnancy test, unsure if this was blood or urine because both were collected. I was in the hospital again on September 8th and told I was pregnant approx 1 to 1 and a half weeks based off of my high levels (again not sure if this was blood or in urine they tested). I do nit know if my ex or new man is the father. The new guy I am with ejaculate inside me every time.

Avatar m tn Hello, Pus cells are indicative of infection while albumin in the urine represents protein in urine or proteinuria. It can happen due to renal causes or other causes like infections, sarcoidosis, multiple myeloma, and SLE. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a urologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn As you are 55 and I presume not menstruating, then visible bood in the urine is indicative of a serious waterworks infection. This can be from the kidneys right down to the urethra (the opening that lets your pee out). You do not say whether it hurts or stings when you urinate. If you do that can be from an inflamed bladder - that condition is called Cystitis. Bleeding in the urinary tract can also be from stones and other conditions.
