Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks pregnant. At around 19 weeks, after having urethral pain for 2 weeks, I went to the ER as i was certain I did have a UTI, even though my doctor dismissed my symptoms and told me the leukocytes and bacteria found were from contamination. I was in considerably more pain that same night so headed to the ER where they confirmed I had a UTI and put me on cephalexin. I took it for 4 days until I started having diarrhea.
Avatar n tn I again bought urine strips that detect blood only, and the strips shows non-hemolyzed trace only after drinking beer or coffee. If I drink a glass of water with a tsp of baking soda, the test strips come out negative. I guess my question is "is it harmful to drink a glass of baking soda water daily?", or should I return to the doctor and go thru kidney x-rays, cystoscopy, etc again? I really hate to give up my coffe ...
Avatar m tn I decided to buy those urinalysis test strips and monitor any issues. Thanks.
1973666 tn?1325964688 Why not buy a pack of urine reagent test strips that you can use to test your urine for protein. A pack of 100 strips can be had for not too much money ($12.00 to around $50 depending on the brand). Find them through Google. Then if you see that you do have protein in your urine, you could use the strip as evidence to show your primary doctor that you need a referral to a nephrologist. I like the idea of using strips for testing at different times of day.
Avatar m tn ( cant find any. My urine test was done at a labratory not in the doctors office.
Avatar m tn So please get this checked some of the moniters are inexpensive but the test strips are more expensive. The moniters go on sale frequently so for just a few checks it can be inexpensive but either way- GET TESTED!
Avatar f tn Due to the frequency of my symptoms, I have urinalysis test strips at home. 5 days ago, when my symptoms began, I did a test first thing in the morning (with no voiding during the night), it showed positive for both nitrites and leukocytes (>500). Later that day, I went to the urologist and their urinalysis came back clear. They gave me a bladder instillation (of which I have been doing weekly or bi-weekly).
Avatar f tn It honestly can come and go and you can actually test for BLD yourself with the diagnostic test strips "GP Mulistix" by either bayer or siemens (25 tests in one tube) along with nitrates and leucocytes, protein etc Theres no restrictions on the public buying these - though they are not super cheap (£10- £14 as a guide in the UK as a guide for 25) Mild Kidney infections can show a trace of blood - see if this is a "one off" then if it contines daily take action according to wh
Avatar f tn What is a dirty catch urine test
Avatar f tn Some urinalysis test strips can be had over the counter which might be a good place to start. Otherwise, I would recommend seeing a physician if you can. Best wishes, Dr.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your reply. We saw her pediatrician today, and i wasn't happy. He didn't even look at the sample I brought (I've attached a link to a photo of her urine from this morning, as I couldn't add it to this post). He said, "Oh cloudy urine is common in kids, we'll run a urinalysis." That was it. To my untrained eye, this amount of stuff in her urine does NOT look normal. Based on the photos, do you feel that we should seek another opinion?
Avatar m tn sounds more like a prostate issue than a std. go and be seen and follow up on it. call your local health department to see what your local low cost/no cost options are for being seen.
Avatar m tn I had a urinalysis done to see if i had any infection. i went to urologist twice and he did the same test again. Both urine samples were clear. I had an ultrasound done that determined i have varicocele in my left side. But 2days now i felt some slight burnin sensation in my like inside my urethra just a lil quick burn for like a second it goes away this has happens like 3 times a day.i do not have any problem with urinating.
Avatar f tn I cannot get tested due to being deployed with the armed forces which the only test available are urine dipsticks (own bottle). I have had all the hep jabs etc. My penis looks normal and 10 parameter urine test strips have normal results at day 6/7. If I do not have any penile discharge penile sores/blisters etc symptoms by day 7, bacterial STDs such as NGU and Gono can be ruled out? And do I have more chance of winning the lottery than catching herpes and syphilis?
Avatar f tn I got my urinalysis test results back. Everything looked normal except Appearance-cloudy, Squamous epithlial Cells - 6-10 (marked as H), WBC 10-20 (marked as H), and Bacteria-Moderate (26-50) marked also H. My doctor never called me, even though she had received my test results. Should I follow up with another doctor? How bad are these numbers?
Avatar n tn But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. If you didn't have the strip stored properly, the testing chemicals on the strip will become compromised/contaminated and will give you the crazy results. Be sure your test strips are stored in a small, airtight container. And that you use a clean urine collection cup as well.
Avatar f tn I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???
15913225 tn?1443919989 The urinalysis test was part of my pre-op physical. Some of the urinalysis results that concern me are listed below. I've included a picture of the full urinalysis results too. Should any of these results make me concerned?
Avatar n tn The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
Avatar f tn You have A large amount of blood in your urine which suggest that you may have inflammation or infection somewhere. Your red and white blood count are in normal ranges. The color of your urine is yellow/straw (normal) and the clarity is good. Everything else is in normal ranges as well. Talk to your doc to about the blood in urine if they have not already contacted you.
Avatar n tn Hey. Sorry to bother ya'll again. I complainied of frequent urination and some visable particles in urine (which I'm no longer seeing!) to my doctor - I suspected this was due to my hightened anxiety over a very brief unprotected encounter way over a year ago, the doctor agreed but suggested a unrine sample be analysied to rule out a UTI as cause of the frequency. My urine was sent away to be cultured and returned with 'no growth' status. No follow up with my doc was required.
Avatar f tn Yes, a urine quick test can tell you if you have WBC, but not if you have gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU or another infection that could be causing that. You need specific tests for that. If you have concerns about those, you need to let the doctor know so they can do specific tests.
