Avatar n tn They sell amniotic test strips in pharmacies. At least they do here in Oregon. I would get checked at the hospital, then pick up a pack just in case. My hospital is an hour away, so the test strips help a ton. Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. If you didn't have the strip stored properly, the testing chemicals on the strip will become compromised/contaminated and will give you the crazy results. Be sure your test strips are stored in a small, airtight container. And that you use a clean urine collection cup as well.
Avatar f tn I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???
Avatar n tn The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
Avatar f tn Yes, a urine quick test can tell you if you have WBC, but not if you have gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU or another infection that could be causing that. You need specific tests for that. If you have concerns about those, you need to let the doctor know so they can do specific tests.
Avatar n tn I again bought urine strips that detect blood only, and the strips shows non-hemolyzed trace only after drinking beer or coffee. If I drink a glass of water with a tsp of baking soda, the test strips come out negative. I guess my question is "is it harmful to drink a glass of baking soda water daily?", or should I return to the doctor and go thru kidney x-rays, cystoscopy, etc again? I really hate to give up my coffe ...
4043310 tn?1355912647 My sis is far from a healthy eater lol n she has a drink once in awhile n she says its out ur system in 24hrs unless u r like a heavy drinker but beer will cause u to become engorged so make sure u pump n dump so she says lol. 798555 tn?1292787551 Anyone use this brand? Since its only $10 at walmart, I wonder about accuracy. Test strips are more affordable too than the others..
Avatar n tn I frequently use urine test strips to test my urine when I feel unwell that may be waterwork problem. Have had kidney stone surgically removed in the past. Nitrite on the stick will mean that it is a bladder problem - usually Cystitis. Positive leucocyte reading on the stick with or without signs of protein, usually means that there is a bacterial infection. If the doctor said you have a uti (urinary tract infection) this is anywhere from the kidneys down.
Avatar f tn Hi! I have used Clinical Guard ovulation strips, and they work. But I just discovered some called BFP, they make ovulation & pregnancy test strips, and they are super accurate and easy to read. They're my new "go-to" brand. I buy off of Amazon. Good luck! & lots of baby dust!
Avatar n tn Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check. Ive had a urine test and it was ok so Im just curious, as it was clear is that it? am I clear for diabetes? thanks.
Avatar f tn You should buy some alcohol test strips, they sell then at walmart. That way even after you pump and dump you can still check to make sure there isn't any alcohol in the breast milk.
Avatar m tn Unprotected oral second void, maybe 1/2 ounce wasted then in the cup NAAT,, male is this an accurate test? Potential prostate swollen and frequent urination?
Avatar f tn breast milk & blood fliter alcohol the same way. 1 drink per hour. If you feed the baby. Then have a beer or glass of wine... It will be out of you milk by the next feeding. And if you think youve drank too much..

Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks pregnant. At around 19 weeks, after having urethral pain for 2 weeks, I went to the ER as i was certain I did have a UTI, even though my doctor dismissed my symptoms and told me the leukocytes and bacteria found were from contamination. I was in considerably more pain that same night so headed to the ER where they confirmed I had a UTI and put me on cephalexin. I took it for 4 days until I started having diarrhea.
Avatar f tn You can always buy test strips at target or pharmacy. PH strips you can test the discharge and it will tell you if its just urine or amniotic fluid.
282955 tn?1394730951 I also buy a lot from saveontests dot com. They sell the strips and the sticks. The strips are economical, but I really like the cheapo sticks from there better. They run about .
Avatar n tn In the US, the retail price of an INR monitor is quite expensive -- probably at least $1200 or so, and the test strips cost around $5 or $6 apiece. Actually, I would be surprised if you could get a Coaguchek, InRatio, or Protime monitor from a factory-authorized retailer in the US for as little as $1200, and it might be more like twice that.
Avatar f tn Buy the alcohol test strips for testing breastmilk there fairly cheap and its better then guessing all u do is pump dip the test strip and it reads if there is any alcohol In your milk or not they sell them at target baby's r us and online
Avatar f tn t show up as a opiate and would only get picked up on a (gcms) mass spectrometer specifc gravity test, which cost more money than the nida 5 whiz strips which only tests for the more common drugs, marijuana, cocaine, morphine, meth, etc.
Avatar f tn I went to two doctors. Had gonnohrea and clamydia test 7 days post which were negative. I went to plan parenthood today hoping to get swab test done. They said they didn't do that test. They took urine for second gonnohrea and clamydia test. I just don't know what to do now. My urethra feels like there is urine in it after I pee and there is some sensitivity but I can't get confirmation on whether I have a nsu. Really could use some opinions on this.
1973666 tn?1325964688 Why not buy a pack of urine reagent test strips that you can use to test your urine for protein. A pack of 100 strips can be had for not too much money ($12.00 to around $50 depending on the brand). Find them through Google. Then if you see that you do have protein in your urine, you could use the strip as evidence to show your primary doctor that you need a referral to a nephrologist. I like the idea of using strips for testing at different times of day.
Avatar f tn Buy the testing strips. They test for alcohol in your breast milk.
Avatar f tn Where can I get a bunch of test strips for ovulating for cheep. I am trying and trying to conceive but I haven't had any sucess at it. So I have been very down for a long time. I don't know if I will ever conceive at times I give up and at others I just keep pressing in and it gets hard daily.
