Avatar f tn I was then told that my urine specific gravity was high (above what they could test for) and I had elevated bilirubin in my urine and when I asked about the bilirubin was told that my liver was probably stressed by my dehydration (as indicated by the specific gravity and urine color).

On the info sheet, 3 lines were highlighted and the results were given beside then: Protein - 1+ Ketones - TRACE Bilirubin - 2+ I'm stressing a bit because I did some research online and the articles said that it might be a kidney problem. I have Lyme, Bartonella, Babesiosis, RA, and a list of other health conditions. I was hospitalized in January for an infected port a cath (pseudomonas) which turned into sepsis. What else could cause diluted urine. I am about to loose the job because I can't pass the drug test. Avatar f tn Everything else is fine, and his CBC and CMP blood test results are always normal. Liver tests are always normal. I read that liver disease usually shows up in the blood test results first, then when it becomes more advanced, it starts showing up in the urine. His results are sort of backwards. Blood tests fine, yet there's always bilirubin in the urine. And like I said this has been going on for 10 years (he is 16 now). No other significant symptoms that he's told me about.

Avatar f tn Hi I found some information re high bilirubin as I am not knowledgeable. I do see your hemoglobin is low and your ALT is about 4 times what it should be. Has you doctor advised you to get further testing? I hope this will help you. I think you need to see doctor that specializes in the liver. Good luck to you. Avatar f tn Well, alcohol, elevates cholesterol levels, especially in that it ends up getting stored as sterol fats in the liver,; causing over time a fatty liver, and cirrhosis. My suggestion would be that since statins, and blood pressure medications are processed by and subsequently tax the liver;is to consider in a more direct way that alcohol poisons the liver and makes it fatty.
Avatar f tn All the test results reported so far are negative, except for the slightly elevated numbers of red and white blood cells in your urine and slightly high SGPT, a liver enzyme test. Given your nearly zero risk for STDs, your HSV-2 test almost certainly will be negative as well. I suggest you visit a doctor or clinic for professional evaluation, most importantly to recheck the abnormal urinalysis -- and of course to check out the itching problem if it hasn't cleared up.
