My friend had high levels of protein in her urine. She had to do a 24 pee test, the doctors told her she got the protein from eating to many bananas and the high levels of potassium are what did it for her. You may just have to much of that, but I would follow up with your doc!

Hi, I am a 16 year old girl, whom is 5'3,and weigh about 96 pounds. I just went to see the doctor, and like always, they said I had a bit of ketones and about 300g of protein in my urine. They didn't test my blood sugar, but I know my fasting glucose level is around the 126 range. They're checking the urine for protein. If protein is spilling over into your urine it can be indicative of health problems such as pre eclampsia.

I went to the doctor and the found a high amount of protein in my urine, and also ketones, but no sugar in. (I was tested about two hours after a large meal too, so the ketones were not out of starvation, and I do not exercise.) They have always seen protein in my urine also. The urine test is checking sugars in the urine, protein in the urine, and hydration levels. But a blood test is far more accurate. You can choose to opt out, but there are risks with untreated GD. Do some research and figure out what you want.

Your doctor should be checking your urine for glucose every time your seen. Also, you should be having a 1 hour glucose tolerance test. If you are within normal limits you won't have to do the three hour glucose tolerance test.

Did they test your key tones in your urine or through a blood test? If key tones in tour urine is high than it is normally a sign of dehydration. Jist drink lots of fluids.
