Avatar m tn I got tested for HIV for life insurance. What would happen if they detected the HIV virus?
Avatar m tn In November 2012 I had a one night stand with a 28 year old Japanese women while I was on Vacation. I do not know her status. The condom broke during sex and unprotected vaginal sex happened for about 5 minutes. I was scared so I waited for testing. I tested at exactly the 7 week point during a medical exam for a life insurance policy from American General. I don't know which test were done. The paper they gave said the would either test my blood or body fluids.
Avatar m tn Recently I was hospitalized in India in April and came back to USA in August and applied for life insurance in August 30 and they did blood work and sent me medical blood exam but I don’t see hiv test in it but I was told that life insurance companies always do hiv test before giving policy and now they came back saying my blood pressure and colostrol was high so I need to pay high premium and they also mentioned that there are no major issues other that these two issues.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have made changes to my life insurance policy and they need to come do a physical and blood tests on me. I recentley came off of hydrocodone and am just concerned if it will be picked up on the test. How long does it take to not show up? If anyone has any insight to this its greatly appreciated. Thanks.
335728 tn?1331414412 A few years back I applied for Life Insurance. I was turned down due to having a pre-existing condition, "inactive" MS although that isn't the way they saw it! ha ha Just wondering if anyone here has been deemed ineligible for Life Insurance due to the diagnosis of MS even though MS has been deemed as non-life threatening?
487969 tn?1249313291 I have a blood draw and urine sample tomorrow for my life insurance evaluation. Do I, or don't I take my thyroid medication? Also, I took my xanax for the neck swelling last night and will not do that tonight, but will it still show in tomorrow's urine sample? Do they even test that way?
Avatar m tn No insurance companies do not cancel your policies if you test.
Avatar f tn anyone ever been turned down for life insurance because of your eds? i have a mild form and never had any issues getting insured before. recently tried to update and tweak my coverage and every one i try refuses to write me due to the eds. 37 and otherwise completely healthy.
1722607 tn?1335747858 Regardless of disease status (current or resolved) you’ll continue to test positive for HCV antibodies. Some life insurance companies now recognize HCV can be clinically resolved, although the time frame used varies from company to company.
280299 tn?1216855676 Yes. Unfortunately there are key words in a doctor's report that automatically bump you into a high risk category for life insurance companies. It doesn't matter if the situation is completely benign and statistically insignificant, the terms and or episodes will kick you out of their "eligibility" guidelines. Insurance companies are there to make money.
13495566 tn?1431029924 If UA is urine test, I would say yes. The last thing my insurance did before issuing Harvoni coverage was ask for urine test. The very 1st part of treatment for liver disease should be to be totally clean and live a healthy life style. No medicine will work without 1st doing that. Harvoni is very expensive and the insurance companies do not like to spend money.
Avatar f tn A blood test can be done. But it'd cost you a LOT more than a urine test you can buy, even with insurance. Insurance companies don't tend to pay for pregnancy tests, urine or blood. Or they may only pay a very small fraction. Just depends.
301354 tn?1211810520 I hate insurance companies as well. Unfortunately what your friend is going through is not uncommon in the US. My insurance does not cover ANY fertility treatments. I've had to pay for mine all out of pocket (from oral meds to injectibles to IUI, plus all of the doctors visits). So now I have a pretty large amount of debt built up since it took us 6 years to conceive. However, I am now 31 weeks pregnant, and once I hold my daughter in my arms, it will all be worth it!
645800 tn?1466860955 Never could figure out whether insurance companies hired people to drive around and check out the houses or what. Only heard of this happening to her until now. We thought maybe some turned her in but how would anyone know who the insurance comany is? Very strange and I thought out of line. I hope all this gets worked out!
Avatar m tn For the life of me, i cant find those lab results in my records, but is that true? Do the large life insurance companies automatically test for HIV?????If this is true, my stress and anxiety will diminish significantly because i ended up getting the life insurance policy which is north of $1m.
Avatar f tn Yes it will show up, never heard of insurance companies needing urine though. At my clinic, you do the urine BEFORE you see the doctor and they see the results in like 2 minutes . So i think if something was wrong they would probably wait until your next visit and cut you off.
230262 tn?1316645934 Why on earth would a simple urine test cost that much?? I have NO insurance at all and this is impossible for me to pay! The appt itself was expensive=190, and now I get this? Has anyone else had a similar bill for such a thing? I am calling them tomorow to inform them I think that is absolutely CRIMINAL to charge that much, and I am not paying that much for it. They can send as many collectors after me as they want to, but I am not paying almost 500 bucks for 3 oz. of urine test!! Insane!
Avatar n tn I have an upcoming blood test for life insurance. I am not a heavy smoker ( approx. 8-10 cigarettes weekly) How do I rid the nicotine from my system??? I just smoked 3 today???
Avatar f tn The reason you took out an Individual Health Plan was to cover you in the event of you becoming unwell they cannot drop you now simply because you have contracted a very common skin condition what would be the point in having an Insurance Plan in the first place if it means they will not give the financial help required if and when something goes wrong, that is the reason you took out the Protection to ensure that if you needed Meds in the future your Health Plan was in place to help pay for that
408795 tn?1324935675 Coincidentally, that's how I was diagnosed...through a renewal of a life insurance policy blood test in 2008. They declined my policy of $250k with a fixed premium for 10 years because of HCV, but they put me on another plan that increases every year. I had to drop from $250k to $100k in order to afford the premiums. Every February, the premium gets bumped up. And I believe after 2018, the premium will double to put it in the $200 a month range.
Avatar m tn Not all insurance companies are treating only late stage patients. The pharma companies are now giving some deep discounts to the insurance companies and hopefully the patient will benefit and it will be easier to qualify for treatment. Wishing you the best.
Avatar m tn I had been examining this board so I only took the urine test at 5 days post exposure which came back negative. I am holding off on the blood test until 6 weeks since, from what I have seen on here, that will give me accurate syphillis, and HIV results and gives me about a 70% chance of picking up Herpes. I did go to a urologist who said everything looked fine and he did a urethral swab, although it was after I had just given a urine sample.
113932 tn?1189755824 If it asks if you've "ever" had HCV, than the honest and correct answer would be yes. If you said no and then later developed some kind of gastrointestinal/liver health problem (possibly related to injury caused by a past HCV infection), they could potentially deny you coverage and have a reasonable case for that denial.
2120085 tn?1344765910 This reminds me too much of medical insurance denials. We tell the truth, they deny. :( Sorry you didn't get life insurance. If you can, appeal. I think these rules on insurance companies place should be thrown out based on the ADA act because they discriminate against the disabled by denying the disabled coverage.
