Avatar n tn In this the diagnosis can be made only by the proper collections of urine specimens from both the urethra and the bladder. These specimens will reveal the presence of white blood cells in the urethral washings, while the midstream (bladder) specimen will be free of cells. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn While I know that this routine urine test at the gynecologist does not show HIV antibodies but wouldn't this test come up abnormal if I had an immunological disorder such as HIV? I also took a blood test so I should know my status for sure in a few weeks. I just wondered if the urine test would show up abnormal as well although they are not testing for that. Thank you all!
Avatar m tn I got an gnorheea test and chlymedia test done for 52 dollars. Just a simple urine test at planned parenthood. You call for the results they give you an ID card. No worries about coming in for the results. Stress free.
Avatar f tn They are more sensitive and accurate compared to urine tests. It is best to wait for your periods and take up the test if you miss your periods. The diagnosis of pregnancy can be made only after a complete history and physical examination, laboratory evaluation, and ultrasonography. Consult a gynecologist for more queries. Do keep us posted. Take care and regards!
Avatar n tn ll probably want to see your gynecologist for a BLOOD pregnancy test - they are much more sensitive than the urine ones so can detect pregnancy sooner than the urine tests can.
Avatar f tn havent got my period over 2 mos... been to the doctor for urine test.. results are negative.. but im having symptoms that im pregnant...what should i do and expect?
Avatar f tn If yes then do urine pregnancy test at home immediately to rule out whether you are pregnant or not. If the result is positive then you are pregnant and visit a gynecologist and she will prescribe you medications to induce your periods. Avatar n tn If your cycles are irregular it is best to see a gynecologist and get evaluated.HCG can be detected in urine or blood after implantation, which takes place about 9 days after fertilization. A quantitative serum beta hCG levels measurement is done in mIU/ml, and a level above 25 mIU/ml usually indicates the presence of a pregnancy. It is best to take up the test after you miss your periods for better results. Do consult your gynecologist for more queries and help. Keep me posted.
Avatar n tn Out of fear I went to a lab and got tested for chlamydia and ghonnorea 6 days after that night. The test came back negative. It was a urine bd probetec test. Could I have tested too soon or can I trust these results? Im also planning on testing for hiv etc...
Avatar f tn I have gone for an ultra sound and nothing was found (no sign of pregnancy) I have repeated d pregnancy test with both serum n urine and its still positive... Its been 2days since I took the drugs.
Avatar f tn d suggest the first thing you do is buy a pregnancy test from the store. It will be the quickest answer. Do you have blood in your urine or is it coming from your vagina when you wipe? Urinary tract infections can cause blood in your urine and you don't always have all the symptoms. (I found out I had a UTI and didn't have any burning or blood). You'll have to take a urine test at the doctors.
Avatar f tn You may also go for blood HCG levels since the blood test is a more sensitive and accurate test for detecting early pregnancy Seeking the opinion of a gynecologist may be helpful once the results if urine pregnancy test are known. Do write to us again on how you are doing. Take care and regards!
Avatar f tn Hello, at what time is it recommended to schedule appointments with a gynecologist? I mean like when should a girl/women have their first appointment? After they get their period, how often etc.?
Avatar f tn Just tell her that you think it's time for an ob-gyn visit, and if she asks you why, tell her that your periods are irregular and you're having bad cramps.
Avatar n tn I would suggest you to do highly sensitive urine for pregnancy test (like an aimstrip test)which measures hCG at low concentrations of 20-25mIU after 7-10 days of your ovulation days. You can repeat the test if you missed your periods and please make sure to consult your gynecologist. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn OK so i went to the doctor two days ago and took a pregnancy test but came out negative. well my doctor told me that she wasnt sure if it was true or not because everyone doesnt show up on a pee test. well she gave me provera to get my period. Ive took two pills already but what if i am pregnant? should i go to another doctor to get a blood test before i take anymore of these pills?
Avatar f tn hi everyone my period is 3 weeks late and no bleeding, been having back pain headaches and very light spotting on 3-22-17 could i be pregnant. Also i took a blood test and urine test and those were negative. but i remember the doctor told me a week ago on 3-15-17 that if another week goes by try another pregnancy test. so should i take another one tomorrow or wait till the end of the month.
Avatar f tn I've been suffering with symptoms of a urine infection for 11 months. All 4 urine tests showed no infection but increased protein levels. I've had an ultrasound scan and this showed a cyst in my right ovary (which explains the pain i am having). I have had a blood test and i am waiting for results. I'm getting quite nervous as im sensing an urgency from my doctor. I am booked in to see a gynechologist next monday which im not looking forward to....
Avatar f tn hey, i found bood in my urine on the 14 nov this year. i went to docs who adv to give a sample but because my urine was clear after then i didnt bother x i started my periods two days later and forgot about it. I found more blood on the 4th, 6th and 7th december. i started my period ac ouple of days later bearing in mind that its approx 2 weeks after my last period finished. there is no pain. the urine is deep red. it doesnt stain my clothes. it doesnt burn or itch or hurt.
Avatar f tn Did they do a urine test or a blood test? if they just did a urine test I would request a blood test because some women don't test positive on a urine test even if they are pregnant.
Avatar f tn Home pregnancy tests are only accurate as early as 1 - 3 weeks following conception (depending on which pregnancy test you took). False negatives are possible, as are false positives, but I would definitely recommend visiting a gynecologist as soon as possible--if you're sexually active or you're at least 20 years of age, it's generally good practice to visit a gynecologist at least once a year, regardless of whether or not anything is wrong.
Avatar f tn Absence of period may be attributed to possible pregnancy, hormone changes, or underlying gynecological issues. Urine tests may yield false negatives or false positives. It is best that you have the more accurate serum HCg test done and have this checked by your gynecologist for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Pregnancy is the first possibility for delayed periods. I sincerely suggest you to do a urine for pregnancy test and if the test comes negative, then get the other causes of delayed periods ruled out from a gynecologist. It can happen because of hormonal imbalance, increased stress, eating disorder, increased smoking, alcohol or caffeine use and medical conditions like PCOS, fibroid, polyps and endometriosis.
