1523184 tn?1291940756 I just got a letter from my doctor saying that a second consecutive urine test showed no vicodin in my urine, and that his office will no longer prescribe vicodin for me. I'm beside myself because I know I took my vicodin the day before the test. My new Rx was due the week after the test and I obviously didn't get my prescription. The only thing that I can possibly think of that is my fault is that I drink a tremendous amount of water every day, probably more than a gallon.
Avatar f tn Will a urine test know what class 2 schedule drugs are being taken whether an oxy or vicodin? I have a script for 10 mg vicodin but ran out and friend let ke take a 5mg oxy for my pain till script coupd be refilled...i then took a urine test..both meds re a class 2 schedule so will the urine test know the difference?
Avatar n tn You mean a urine test? Ask for a blood test. BTW, this is a substance abuse community where we come together to help one another get and stay clean. Do you have a drug problem? If so we are here to help.
Avatar f tn My current PM is not the best........he cancels every other appt....he has 4 x's forgot to bring my file with him. Also, once he argued with me that he would have never given me Vicodin ES 2x a day. He finally got his trusted computer and was proven wrong! I do not appreciate the treatment he gives me! Since Sept I was on one Vicodin ES, then for the past 2 months I got him reluctantly to give me 2 a day. Which by itself still only gives me 4 hrs a day of having no pain.
Avatar f tn Were you prescribed vicodin? I am 12 weeks now and last week I was in th er because I had an ovarian cyst the size of a softball rupture. I was in extreme pain and my Dr actually prescribed me vicodin for pain. I only took it for a few days, but she said it was safe. If you haven't already told your Dr about using this, you should now. For many reasons including possible drug interactions during your c section. Also, most vicodin contains a blood thinner which could complicate the surgery.
Avatar n tn How long was that you took those suppliments before your urine test? It can alter the test for anywhere between 5 to 10 hours. Get back to me and I will check it out for you. You can PM me if you like.
Avatar n tn I have been clean off vicodin and xanax for 2 weeks, but my urine drug test, still comes out positive. How is this so?
Avatar n tn When taking a urine test, can they detect whether you've taken a Norco hydrocodone or a Vicodin hydrocodone? Aren't those just brand names or generic names? PLEASE HELP!!!!
Avatar m tn Husband & I have been taking Hydrocodone for over 10 years. New doctor, urine test showed we both are taking Oxycodone also. We have never taken Oxycodone. WHY? I just went & paid out of pocket for an urine test. Oxycodone did not show..
Avatar f tn I took vicodin off and on for chronic pain through my pregnant. I have weaned off of it, my last one being a half dose about 3 1/2 days ago (I am 38 weeks along) I am wondering will my drug test be clean at the hospital and will the baby's urine drug screen be clean as well? Please do not judge....I am looking for real information from someone. Thank you so much in advance.
Avatar f tn s and he started screening my urine for vicodin and it has been coming back clean? I take my pain medication on a regular basis and there should be no reason why it isnt showing. My Dr. is now accusing me of selling my pain medication and I have no way to defend myself. Can someone please give me advice.
Avatar n tn I wouldnt think that she"d test positive for vicodin since it leaves your system in 72 hours like usa said.
Avatar f tn Hello! I'm praying someone in here can help me. I've been on Vicodin for 4 years now due to chronic migraines. Lately, I've been taking 4-6 daily (2 every 4 hrs about). I had an infed gallbladder before and tonight it's killing me. I'm dizzy, extremely nauseas and have chest pains. I have severe anxiety too, so the chest pains are nothing new.
5621633 tn?1371088110 the only difference is that Norco has less acetaminophen than Vicodin (325mg vs 500 in Vicodin). Also, the Vicodin your mom has contains less hydrocodone than the Norco you are prescribed, and the half-life of hydrocodone is a maximum of 6 hours which means the levels of the extra Norco you took should be out of your system by the time you have your urine test, so I wouldn't worry this time about being "caught" taking extra pills this time. But I agree with silverfox67.
Avatar n tn It is my understanding that Suboxone is used to help an addict get off of prescription pills, so why would a doctor say this? He is trying to get Vicodin from someone, saying he needs to have a urine test and it has to come up that he is using in order for him to get the Suboxone. If he comes up clean, they won't give it to him. Does this sound correct? Or is he just trying to pull the wool over her eyes?
Avatar f tn no they test for the didfferent chemicals.
Avatar m tn Schedule II narcotics require a written prescription from the doctor every 30 days and cannot have any refills. Norco and Vicodin are Schedule III narcotics and can have refills.
Avatar m tn It never passes the test though I take 3 times a day every day and have for years for cronic pain for osteo arthuritis. I am soooo upset I just went to the dr this morning as she has me return every three months for my refill prescriptions. She hasn't done an urine for months until today. She said she is going to take me off this because doesn't believe I am taking it. If I was it would show up in the urine.
Avatar n tn I have been on Methadone a vicodin for 3 years or more and I took a urine test last month, The only one he has ever given me and It came up that I dont take my meds at all. I take my meds all the time like clock work, UNLESS I have to drive to the drs office or I know I have to take the kids somewhere cause I will not drive on them. He called me a lyer and that the drug tests dont lie. Well in my case they must lie cause I take my pills all the time.
Avatar f tn If you have gastritis, can it take longer for prescribed, Vicodin to leave your urine or blood?
Avatar n tn I would recommend a re-test and this time a blood rather than urine test. I have pernicious anemia (a weird blood disorder) and have my blood drawn at least once evey 3 months. My tests are done by a Hemotoligist at the hospital lab to ensure there are no mistakes caused by the transfer of my sample from the doc's ofc to the lab....... Even with these precautions, my tests have to be re-done at least once a year due to an error....... it happens.
Avatar n tn Will you pass your drug test? Well it takes at least 72 hours for the Vicodin to leave your system. It could linger longer but that is the general rule. Others will post will more information and knowledge than I have on the subject. I do encourage you to remedy the situation with your roommate before it leads to repeats or bigger problems. Good luck with your drug test.
Avatar f tn it takes a while as the drug has a long half life...urine drug screens for jobs test for benzos, pot, cocaine, narcotics (not sub tho) but i do think methadone shows up on most 10 panel drug screens..5 panel are cheaper and what my hospital uses and hydro doesnt even show up..only morphine and codeine being the 2 true narcotics and the rest like oxy and hydro are synthetic...plus u have a scrip for the sub..dont worry..
Avatar f tn My doctor has an assistant, not a nurse, who assists her with checking patient vitals, etc. the assistant makes frequent demands for a urine test...4 in the last 8 months which seem excessive to me. She gets quite testy if I am unable to comply and has left an unpleasant message on my phone once. Today she brought me a full paper cup of water and insisted I drink it. Am I legally required to submit to these tests? Is there a certain number of urine tests required per year?
Avatar m tn It seems that this happens a lot, people having false negatives with urine tests. Can you ask them for a blood test? I'm not sure what you should do but at the very least, you need to start calling other pain management doctors/clinics. It may be hard to find one if you've been red-flagged but you should try to find someone despite that. Are you going to run out of your medication?
