@kaylee..no I didnt hv sex for about 2 months now ;) I read it somewhere that for females few rbcs in urine are normal..should be concerned if its nly higher than 3-4..but im worrying about the presenc of organism in urine..in the report they hvnt indicated any value..just a plus sign..so should I get a urine culture done to get treated?

Have endured irritation in urethra (tip of penis) for three weeks, with no discharge or obvious trauma. Had difficulty urinating and irritation from friction with clothes...all day, especially when working out. Saw my GP two weeks ago and told him about symptoms; he asked if there was any reason it could be STD...I have not had any new partners and in monogamous relationship, so I hope it's not STD.

I recently started showing symptoms of either a STD or a UTI so I went to the Dr. to get check out. Well the urine test came back positive for Chlamydia. I've been in a relationship for the past 2 years and have been having unprotected sex for a while with her. I have been completely faithful but when I confronted her she admitted to cheating on me but the STD was news to her because she had never experienced any symptoms. She went right away and got tested in the ER.

I did go back to another doctor.. GYN and did test for a UTI, after being off meds. He did say that I didn`t have a UTI and more and he did some test to see if I have an Infection like Yeast or BV and he said I didn`t have those either. He said I was just irritation, and to use some Cortisone 10 on that area for 7 days and it should clear up. I have done this and I still have problems, mainly burning when and after I go.

It's like that for everyone they haven't even made sure my breast milk is coming in? I'm being seen up here at Pendleton. They have so many women they see they don't have time to test urine I'm guessing.

The doctor however suspect something with my bladder and did a ultrsound and found bladder lining is swollen and thicken and it is a severe infection he said. he did urine test and found blood traces in the urine and tell me it was indeed bacteria infection but unable to determine what bacteria is that. He given me another round of AB for 5 days and ask me to come to doa urine check again. DO i need a urologist as the doctor told me i dont need to go to hospital ?

m not sure if red blood cells are tested with a routine UTI test or not at the doctors office I do know that home test kits only test white. Through my reading and research I have read that sometimes a prostate massage and fluid testing is done after the message to test also but can push the infection into the blood so they don't recommend it. From what I gather it can sometimes be tough to test. Just my opinion I'm not a doc.

i also have the flu and my head is pounding and i am on medication for my stomach pain. but i had this urine test done before i was on the medication. IM SO SCARED that its somthing serious. im 16 years old, should i be worried ?

Agreed with JanetJean. I was told I had a uti 2 weeks ago and was put on antibiotics for 7 days due to cloudy urine and now it's back to normal. Antibiotics was safe and no harm to my daughter. Get tested by your ob asap cause a uti can cause premature labor.

Cloudy urine can be from sugar or blood. Have your Dr test your urine just to be safe. Even without symptoms like burning, odor, or frequency you can still have an infection. I don't get symptoms other than how my urine looks.

I have the exact same problem. Its not a uti. A dead giveaway sign of a uti is cloudy urine. Have your doctor do a test for lesions and stuff like that in your bladder and urinary tract. It requires a scope in your bladder but I can't think of the name. Good luck.

I had no symptoms of a uti. My doctor called me after I took my urine test and told me I had a bad uti.

At my last visit 10 days ago I had a NIPT done, blood work and a urine analysis. I developed what seemed like a UTI days earlier. Having had them in years past I was confident that's what it was. Today I received a call stating that I have a UTI and Chlymidia. In total disbelief I ran up to my OB office and asked for a re-test. The midwife preformed a swab test to be analyzed. She recommended that I take the antibiotics.

So far so good on the testing. First week in April we get the results of the chromosome testing. I'm still waiting for AF to get my dye test and baseline u/s scheduled. If we dont go for VCUG and if he gets fever again of any sort, I would still go for urine analyis since UTI was once reported. this would give us some lead time to work on UTI if discovered soon rather than wait 2 days before getting urine analysis done. Also I am planning to go for urine analysis at least once a month to see if everything is normal if we opt out of VCUG 3. The urologist has recommended sedation.

Hence it would be wise to repeat the tests. Else you can opt for specific tests for Chlamydia which include Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT, to find the genetic material of Chlamydia), Nucleic acid hybridization tests (DNA probe test, Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA, EIA), Direct fluorescent antibody test (DFA) or chlamydia culture. Hi, So a few hours after I wrote this, the symptoms came back full force and I went to a walk-in clinic to do the urine sample test and get the prescribed medications. I am a bit disappointed, because everything seemed promising yesterday! Symptoms were down to almost zero. Now on meds and just lying in bed, recovering and drinking tons of fluids. i did went to the doctor and he took my urine for test,according to him the next day i hv UTI,he gave me antibiotics and few other medicine to flush it out.within the 1st day of medication i felt like being normal back,discharge less,no more burning while urine.Now im done with the medicine,so far all good..my question is isit all good now?or do i need to go for another test to confirm?or i might get UTI again even if im not expose to anything?

You can pour some water in while she pees until you get treatment. Take her to the doctor and hey can do a urine test and/or culture to check if she has a bacterial infection. If so they can give her an antibiotic. If it isn't a urinary tract infection does she have pain in the lower right abdomen? Does she have a fever? If so she could have an appendicitis. You need to take her in to the doctor.

A urine culture at a doctors office will tell what kind of infection she has. They sometimes just do a quick test to start with from a urine sample and if that if positive they can do a culture but often the doctors just treat with antibiotics. They may want to take blood to check the BUN and Creatinine that shows if the kidneys are functioning properly as well. I would get her to the doctor as soon as you can. A lot of times implants can become infected so that is another issue.
