512560 tn?1222560127 Hello, I have been having some Kidney issues of late, though I don't know what's what as I am STILL being investigated. Recently, I have been suffering from a sore back, pain could be left, right, middle [lower spine] though mostly it seems to be in the front right about where by upper rib is. The pain seems to be getting worse [could it be serious?
Avatar n tn I had kidney stones just a week ago but the blood in your urine means that you might have pregnancy diabetes.
Avatar n tn I am very fatigued and have been previously set up for a sleep study. Just began taking provigil three days ago. The blood test was taken prior to starting the new meds.

Avatar f tn My question is do any of you see a pain management dr for pain related to kidney stones? Ive gotten stones for the last 18 years but they used to come about anywhere from once or twice a year with one 3 year gap of no stones which was heavenly. Now since novemeber they seem to forming rapidly. Is this any indication that this may continue to be a frequent problem or could this just be a flukish year? My urologist doesn't seem to have any real idea so i was looking for personal experiences.
Avatar f tn After several episodes of gross hematuria it was determined that I have bilateral stones. A 24 hr urine test showed elevated calcium and uric acid. I was placed on potassium citrate and hydrochlorothiazide but the medicines have horrific side effects. Also, has anyone experienced elevated blood glucose levels and elevated LFT's after taking these medications?

Avatar n tn Ive been posting hopingformore insight. Had a urine test which showed blood in urine which I can't see when urinating. All I keep thinking is bladder cancer. I can't even function. Does all blood in urine mean cancer. Everything else on test was normal. Thanks.
500419 tn?1220124743 I would have an ultrasound done at the very least and since you are pregnant I would also have a urine test done in case there is an infection.
535822 tn?1443976780 First of all I have kidney stones ever present inside my kidney. They don't usually cause problems. About 3-4 weeks ago, I started having symptoms resembling a stomach bug (diarrhea) and fatigue for a couple of days, then started having flank pain. Went to urgen care and they gave me 3 days worth of cipro. She said I had a "few" white blood cells in my urine, but that was all. She also ordered a CT scan.
Avatar f tn I was to see my doctor today and had yet another dipstick test come back showing a trace amount of protein in my urine. This has been happening off and on for about 3 years now. This got me thinking. When I was a teenager about 15 years ago I had kidney stones that had to be blasted. And it has me thinking maybe theres something wrong with my kidneys or maybe the kidney stones caused some damage that result in the kidneys not functioning well. Is that possible?
5650943 tn?1374112808 Don't freak out. I always test positive forblood in my urine and it is never anything. It could be the same for you. Sometimes it just happens. Try to relax. It is nothing to get upset about.
Avatar m tn My problem is that the test he suggested for me to consider (called a ct-ivp) costs around $2,300 and my insurance has a $2,000 deductible. I don't want to ignore it, but at the same time 2,000 is a lot of money for me. And i already paid about $130 today. So the questions that i have right now are Are there other options for testing can the urologist do for me? Can sex-related activity cause some kind of damage to produce excessive bloody urine? thank you!
Avatar n tn ct scan, xrays, urine test, cbc, all done 2 times each nothing.....urologist checked out test, nothing, but urologist said he thought it may be skeletal muscle....ache is back in left kidney area, cramping in left abdomen happens when i urinate, but goes away, stomach bloating, but yet all test have shown nothing, no blockage, no stones, kidneys look normal, no uti, blood work super..so now what do i do? anyone out there have the occurance happen to them?
192055 tn?1263555537 Ran to drug store, got a UTI home test which was negative. Pain and dark urine continued, so I went to a urologist. First, she ordered a non-contrast CT scan because she thought I had a kidney stone. It was negative. Problem continued so then she did a cystpscopy which she said was fine. But what really blew me away was that she just blew the blood in my urine off and told me to come back in 6 months!!!! My ortho doctor is also like a family friend.
Avatar n tn hi brandy, based on your description, you might be having kidney stones. the best way to check that is to have your urine tested. once you have your test results, there might be additional imaging tests like xrays and ultrasounds to measure the size of these stones (if ever there are) keep us posted. good luck!
Avatar m tn even fibromyalgia haha (joke) basic urine testing ? the PP i am going to on tuesday does a urine test - can they check for a uti/bladder infection or other infection?
Avatar m tn This occurs usually within 72 hours of the start of symptoms. The best treatment for these small stones is to drink plenty of water (as much as 2 to 3 quarts per day), stay physically active and wait to pass the stone. Doctors may prescribe painkillers to help alleviate discomfort associated with passing a stone. They may also prescribe medicine to relax the ureter and facilitate the passage of the stone.
18533109 tn?1465640552 Get It but ,Usually, an imaging test and an analysis of urine are done to diagnose stones. Tiny stones may cause no symptoms, but larger stones can cause pain in the area between the ribs and hips in the back. Sometimes stone formation can be prevented by changing the diet or increasing fluid intake.
Avatar f tn They can do Utererscopy or URS on stones still in the kidney... but, kidney stones have to be in the urine collecting part of the kidney, the parenchyma to be removed... other than if stuck in the ureter, bladder, and the junctions from kidney to ureter and the other one. I can't remember all of this. This is an intracorporal procedure... the source to break up the stone is inside the kidney. A utererscope is used with various attachments.
Avatar f tn My recent test were clean I.e igg combo @clia for herpes (after 4.5 months of exposure) and urine, stool test and CBC count was all normal. Few months back I was low on vitamin d and b12..for which I took medications and injections. Though fair to say that it all started after an event of high risk protected sex which left me in guilt and anxiety. My provider has written a mantaux test which is for TB I think. I have had lungs TB 6 years back which got away after treatment.
1660289 tn?1302556798 The prescription diets for stones are created to alter the PH of the urine to make the urine less conducive to the formation of stones that have been found, however, as you said, they are typically not of the highest quality. At the same time, we've seen cases where giving the prescription diet turned the urine in the opposite direction to the degree that crystals developed. In my opinion and experience, it is healthier for a dog to try for the results via a more natural diet.
