Avatar m tn Good Day Doc, I had a protected sex encounter with a sex worker about 3 weeks ago. At the third day of my exposure, i did an Urine Culture Test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Test result is negative. However, these few days i am having some weird tickling feeling on my penis. Sometimes, i can feel some sharp tickling at the tip of my penis, especially when i am walking. But, I do not feel any pain during my urination. My questions are: - Is the urine test on the 3rd day conclusive?
Avatar f tn Yes, a urine quick test can tell you if you have WBC, but not if you have gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU or another infection that could be causing that. You need specific tests for that. If you have concerns about those, you need to let the doctor know so they can do specific tests.
Avatar m tn He did physical examination and diagonised me with Epididmytis and also advised a routine urine test. My urine test showed no abnormalities. (My age is 43). He put me on to Paracetamol, (3*3 days) Urispas (3 * 5days) and Levofloxacin 500 mg (1- 14 days). I specifically asked him should i abstain from sex and alcohol during treatment and Doctor suggested I should go ahead my life as normal. I also asked him, if he feared an STI. He was categorical that he does not see an STI threat.
Avatar f tn Urine test for STD are ok. So no clear indicators of what it is....
Avatar m tn dear sir i given my sti urine test just after 20 i done normal urine in morning . but PCR TEST came negative all normal can i believe in that test that i don't have any sti . should this penis discharge some time white and some time cloudy when i go stool did it can give me infertility should i go to doctor .
Avatar m tn LabCorp recommends 20-30 ml for STI urine test. Half a container of the typical urine cup is 60 ml. If submitting 60 ml what is the risk of a false negative due to a dilluted specimen. If results are truly negative what other STI could cause these issues? Would a single act of unprotected intercourse with GF put her at risk for an STI, i know the answer is yes but what is the likely hood of infecting her? Could I have transferred fluids/bacteria while changing condoms?
Avatar n tn Went to see a doctor, got tested with a swab test and doctor says he needs to have thorough testing before he can conclude its a particular STI.. But he says that it is unlikely gonorhrea. My question is, I was offered 7 days of doxycycline and it's been 2 days, and the symptoms doesn't seems to improve. Any chance it might not work and I may have other infections (rather than the presumed chelymadia), or is 2 days too soon to tell for any improvements? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hello. I'm a 33 year old male who received unprotected oral sex from a csw 5 weeks ago. - A few days after the exposure, there was a slight burning at the tip of the penis on the start of urination, but not during and after. Went away after a few days… I hadn't drank as much water during those days which could contributor to urine acidity? - 2.5 weeks after the incident, had an std urine test where I peed about 40 minutes before.
Avatar m tn Hello. Sorry but am freaked out. I have recently gone for a routine sti test and asked to fill a cup of urine. After doing so I went to finish in the toilet to then realise that there was already urine from the previous patient who had not flushed. Now I am worried sick that this could have transferred a sti to me through my urine being indirectly connecting me. PLEASE HELP genuine medical answers please not just opinions.

Avatar n tn Develop the the burning sensation 5 days post exposure, no discharge. Doctor did a urine 10 strip urine test which was negative for all. I was thinking if I had a bacteria sti it show on the urine strip test. Well most UTIs or STIs would give a positive for leucocytes, I could be wrong on this. He prescribed the 3 day course anyway but said no infection present. I went for a sti test anyway 10days post exposure as I’m a little nervous of the burning sensation.
Avatar f tn It stayed there often going away and returning so i decided i took a urine test for a UTI . The doctor told me to drink a lot of water and the test resulted in me in having white cells in my urine , my urine had orange-ish colour and bilirubine . I have a gallstone since i was 14. Anyways she told me not to worry to get some test for my liver just to be sure. Urine was clear and and the report said there were white cells in it. After 1 or 2 days the burning sensation went away.
Avatar m tn I fully understand that identifying either pathogen requires specific test, but can standard urine test at least signal any potential bacterial infection? Also, if my Doctor tells me I have a low grade UTI, would STD possibly fall into that category? Would an STI that is causing me this much discomfort not show up in urine test or only be considered a low grade UTI?
Avatar m tn VDRL negative HBsAG negative ANTI-HVC (hep c) negative HIV Ag p24/HIV Ab type 1+2 negative Aerobea sperm nothing detected Anaerobea sperm nothing Mycoplasma sperm negative Ureoplasma sperm POSITIVE (urealiticum) Chlamydia trachomatis sperm negative (elisa method) As i read on the internet about urine test they do aerobea and anaerobea for std sti (gonorrhea etc).so they did the same thing for the sperm as far as i can understand.
Avatar f tn 1 week ago I licked a massage escorts ***** not the inside just the flit and around the lips of the *****. I now feel a soar throat and a slight pain in the chest. I done a urine test I posted it but I heard oral Chlamydia and gonarerea can't be accurately detected through a urine sample. Is the chest pain a normal symptom? And what's the odds I have and STI from eating her out unprotected ?
Avatar m tn t go pee before you leave. Wait to pee for the urine sample. Its quick and easy. Just say you need to see the doctor for something personal. We've all been there!
Avatar f tn Do you still have symptoms? Get checked for a UTI or bladder infection. Get an STI swab. It's more accurate.
Avatar m tn Chlamydia and Gororrhea (urine sample) and Syphilis (blood test) at the Provincial STI Clinic in Vancouver BC. Canada. (I mention this as you would likely have familiarity with the testing methods there with your close proximity in Washington State) I just got the results: all tests are negative - which is what I wanted to hear. As a backup plan, my family MD has provided me with one gram of Azithromycin and 400 mg of Cefixime - which i am reluctant to take unnecessarily.
Avatar f tn If I had anything would it throw off my blood work? Or when they test the urine and are not looking for specific STD but something abnormal showed up would it show that I had some kind of STD?
Avatar m tn Your absence of symptoms and negative urine test also suggest there is no STI present. Do you know if your urine was tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia or just for a urinary tract infection? Finally, what sort of "blood tests" have been suggested? Are these related to the exposure you discussed with your doctor or something else? I see little need for STI related blood tests related to the exposure that you have described.
