He died in 2 weeks! Me? multiple medical problems. e.g.,18 Spontaneous Pneumothoraces in both lungs/Ehlers Danlos-Syndrome Type 4. I've had kidney stones since I was 16. Some obstructing, many more not. Only occasionally noticed visible blood re: obstructing.
Avatar n tn Two years ago I had my right kidney removed due to a renal cell carcinoma. I have renal ptosis with the remaining kidney. Can a long flight combined with increased walking aggravate this condition? I flew from the states to Germany to visit my son who is in the army and stationed there. We walk everywhere because he does not have a car and with the rail system it isn't needed. But the pain on my left mid side has significantly increased and I am having difficulty urinating.

Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in Mar. 2020. My left kidney was cut out. The doctor said that the cancer did not spread out. In Sep. 2020 the CT found that I was healthy, i.e. no more cancer was found in my body. But the in Dec. 2020 the CT found cancers in my left lung, one about 1cm, another about 1mm, and others of size that the doctor didn't mention. The doctor regard them as spreaded from the kidney cell cancer. I received medicine(chemical) cure from then on.
Avatar n tn I have been having problems with diluted urine. I had to get a drug test for a job and it came back as diluted. Specific gravity was 1.0012. I was asked to retest. I had one glass of water in the morning and had the test in the afternoon. It also came back diluted. Specific gravity 1.002. I went to my doctor to find out if it was a side effect from medicine. She said no and sent me for another urinalysis. It also came back as diluted with a specific gravity of 1.000.

Avatar m tn Hi, How are you? Polyomaviruses are small, nonenveloped DNA viruses, which are widespread in nature where illnesses associated with these viruses occur in times of immune compromise. Tests to quantify the polyomavirus DNA may be made with testing the blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and urine. Identification of virus laden "decoy cells" in urine, and histopathologic demonstration of viral inclusions in the brain parenchyma and renal tubules are also applicable diagnostic methods.
Avatar n tn My cardiologist ordered MRA and 24 hour urine test to see if I had blocked renal artery because of high blood pressure. MRA and urine test came back normal. But now i am concerned that I might have adrenal gland issue, tumor or something. If anybody knows about this, please help.
Avatar f tn I've gone to the doctor for a urine test, he says there was nothing they found -- no UTI (I thought I had one). Then I went to get an abdominal echo to check if there was anything wrong in the liver and kidneys -- doctor said those looked fine too. I've been drinking plenty of water, yet my urine has been dark for weeks still. Dark yellow color. I've had slight lower back pains on one side, but I can't tell if that's because my period is coming or a related symptom.
Avatar m tn Blood in urine for 15 + years...is your normal? Ummm if the doctor told me that I'd be giving him the one eyebrow raised look O_o LOL. High blood calcium levels can be found in people with slow or reduced kidney function as well. A healthy kidney excretes more than 90% of calcium oxalate but it sounds like your kidneys aren't clearing this out efficiency. Elevated calcium oxalate does put you are higher risk for kidney stones.
3246859 tn?1346940423 I had my right kidney removed in 2/11 for renal cell carcinoma. I've had 3 CT scans with contrast since then, but for today's test only an abdominal ultrasound was ordered. As the tech was scanning my left kidney, the screen lit up with a lot of red, and a small mount of yellow. I knew she wouldn't tell me anything, so I didn't even bother to ask, but it worries me. There were no colors on the right side or the pelvic area. What might these colors on the left side mean?
Avatar f tn I suggest you have a Mag 3 renal Scan in the X-ray dept at your hospital. It is in the nuclear medicine department. This should show if you have any issues. You should have it as your brother had a UPJ obstruction which is sometimes congenital. We live in Maine & my son just had this done. They also can scope you without an incision as they did for my son. The Mag 3 renal scan test kidney function & can also see if there is a blockage. Mention this to your doctor.
