ve not had that standing norepinephrine test (was diagnosed in general w/POTS via tilt table test). I have gotten spikes in blood pressure in home testing with standing. I am not a doctor, but logically if you have been diagnosed with POTS already, with a figure of 900 for your standing norepinephrine (unless you have a pheochromocytoma causing the high number), I would be thinking hyperadrenergic form of POTS as well.

For cortisol, there is a 24 hour test for cortisol (ah, another jug!), 8am tests for cortisol and ACTH, and if the doc is good, they will test your adrenals for renin, aldosterone, dhea-s, and do more comprehensive testing of the entire endocrine system as cortisol pretty much can effect most hormones. Cortisol lowers testosterone - that is why I am thinking Cushing's. I don't know if a pheo does that. Or at least, I have not heard that. I hope your doc calls you soon.

Yes, in fact I've had 3 urine test to check for pheochromocytoma. The first one showed that my catecholamines were elevated. The second and third one showed that all was normal. Also I had a body scan of the adrenal glands. The first body scan showed a 4mm nodule on my adrenal gland which they said wasn't big enough to remove. Six months later the body scan was done again to see if it had grown and they said it wasn't there anymore.

I have to go off of Cymbalta because of side effects. The norepinephrine part was helping tremendously. Any way to help get the good stuff naturally. I would wake at a regular time like clock work. I had a sense of cognitive clarity that I did not have on Celexa.
