Avatar m tn Hi, I don’t think you need to worry at all since you haven’t had the hematuria (blood in urine) for the past so long. The cancer of the kidney usually doesn’t present with hematuria. The red colored urine can be due to a number of causes like use of certain drugs etc. I don’t think you need to worry at all and go in for any other tests for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn Other caused such as kidney stones, menstruation contamination of the sample, kidney disease, and bladder of kidney cancer. A microscopic urine analysis is usually done to confirm the presents of red blood cells and urine culture is often done to rule out infection. If red cells are present in significant numbers, a CT scan of the kidneys and bladder are done. Cystoscopy, looking in the bladder with a small scope is usually performed as well.

Avatar f tn I have had blood in my urine for 2 months now and I have had stomach cramps similar to menstrual cramps lately. I also have a history of kidney stones. I go next week for my cat scan and see if I have stones or something that may show up. I am worried but I always do, but this time I haven't been in pain like I was the other times I had stones it just seems different. I also worried about Bladder cancer or kidney cancer, but the symptoms doesn't exactly fit there either.
Avatar n tn A Urovysion urine test is a DNA test and takes about 7 days to get an answer and the answer is only two things Cancer or Not Cancer ....... bladder cancer is what it looks for. An IVP w/constrast X-ray will look @ the entire system and the CT Scan w/o constrast will show kidney stones. The test was covered fully by my insurance. Bottom line for me. They found kidney stones moving around in my kidneys which were chaning the cells and causing the blood.
Avatar f tn I went on to follow up with a urologist who then ordered a test where a tube was put into my bladder to check for any problems, this came out normal and the repeat of the urine samples showed microscopic amount of blood in the urine. My urologist said he wanted to follow me over the next year and do urine test that were more in depth. I got a call today from the Dr.
Avatar m tn When it first began it was so painful that I went repeatedly to the doctors, who initially thought it was kidney stones, as there was a small amount of blood in my urine. I have had a kidney function blood test, which came back fine, a sample of urine was sent to the lab, which also came back fine, and I have also had a CT Scan, and again, I was told this was fine. This made everyone think that I had passed the stones.
Avatar n tn Given that you have multiple episodes, the standard workup for blood in urine consists of three tests. 1. An xray of your kidney, cat scan is the most preferred as it is a more detailed exam than ultrasound. 2. cystoscopy - an office procedure where a urologist looks into your bladder through a tiny camera. 3. urine test to rule out infection and cytology to look for abnormal cells.
Avatar f tn I have had previous symptoms of UTI only to have tests come back negative for infection but positive for blood. The last 4 urine samples have all tested positive for microscopic blood ( all tests done in the past 5 months). I just had my anual physical 1 month ago and urine test noted traces of blood with no infection. My worry is that this could be a sign of bladder cancer. Could the stones in the kidney's be causing the positive blood results even if they are not moving?
Avatar n tn Erythorcytes :10 - 15 seen, littlehigher, Kidney function test, PSA test is normal, kidney stone test negative.. Doctor examined and said no problem of prostrate. He has pain while passing urine and gets tired after passing urine. WHat might be the cause for RCB to be seen in the Urine?
Avatar m tn Your doc should have dip sticks that tell you, its usually routine for docs to check blood and protein in urine so if his not told you that u hav dont worry, also if you nwere going into kidney failure you would be swelled every where u would blow up like a ballon, and you will have no urine output
Avatar m tn After about 6 months (in Nov 2012), the blood spot after urine came back, and I asked my father to get the urine test done again to determine if it's cancer...that test came back negative again. The doctor again did a utereoscopy to put a stent in and said that the stricture is bigger & dense now and ureter is almost fully blocked, so my father scheduled a laser surgery to remove the ureteral stricture, which he had last week.
Avatar m tn No, what your describing would be more inline with a UTI
Avatar f tn I am assuming his urologist gave him what is known as the FISH Test, which measures the presence of cancer cells in the urine. The problem is the test does not tell you where the cells are from. That is why they have to do all this testing. Their assumption is, since he has had bladder cancer, the cells are from somewhere in the urinary tract system. This could lead to a whole lot of testing.
Avatar m tn The enlarged prostate is what causes the difficulty in pasing urine, There are meds available, if there is no cancer present, which can help in the decrease in size of the prostate. See a urologist.

Avatar f tn Causes can be divided according to the affected organ and they are Kidney conditions (infection, pyelonephritis, kidney stones, polycystic kidney disease), Bladder conditions (cystitis, bladder polyp, bladder tumor), Urethral conditions (Sexually transmitted diseases, urethral injury, vaginal inflammation), and certain bleeding disorders. You should visit your gynecologist who needs to conduct a detailed examination to rule out an STD and find the exact cause. Hope it helps.

Avatar m tn Hello, Blood in urine means hematuria. Most often it is related to urinary tract problems like kidney stones, inflammation of urinary tract, prostate enlargement, renal vein thrombosis, certain kidney tumors and polycystic kidney disease, blood coagulation disorders and anticoagulants. With cystoscopy your urologist will rule out any growth or obstruction in urinary tract which can be due to benign growth, prostate enlargement and any malignancy as well. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Avatar n tn ) maybe you should ask your DR to do a cancer marker test...CA19-9. It will show up in your blood if the cancer is big enough to start shedding cells. It wouldn't hurt to talk with him about it. Oh and one more thing....Dark urine can be caused from several things including gallstones or kidney infections. Good luck, lets us know how it turns out.
Avatar n tn There are other causes for this other than cancer. It could be an inflammation or infection as well. Definitely should be further investigated, i.e. doing a Cystoscopy.
Avatar n tn I am a 33 yr old male and I recently had an MRI on my chest for a "mass." As it turns out, the mass was what they called "lipomatous tissue" but no evidense of an enhancing or infiltrative mass. They did find a complex lesion on my right kidney. I will quote the test results: "The liver, spleen pancreas and adrenals are normal. There is a 1.9 x 1.
