Avatar m tn Hello, Pus cells are indicative of infection while albumin in the urine represents protein in urine or proteinuria. It can happen due to renal causes or other causes like infections, sarcoidosis, multiple myeloma, and SLE. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a urologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

Avatar m tn So does it mean that if I had developed antibodies for it, I would not be infected if exposed to it? I have given a urine sample for chlamydia this morning but I am rather surprised how negligent my doctor has been having known what you are telling me. Should I have to take the gonorrhea test as well?
Avatar m tn Good Day Doc, I had a protected sex encounter with a sex worker about 3 weeks ago. At the third day of my exposure, i did an Urine Culture Test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Test result is negative. However, these few days i am having some weird tickling feeling on my penis. Sometimes, i can feel some sharp tickling at the tip of my penis, especially when i am walking. But, I do not feel any pain during my urination. My questions are: - Is the urine test on the 3rd day conclusive?
1285326 tn?1433024464 The doctor can do a urine dip stick test at the appointment to see if you do have a urinary infection. If there is any indication of an infection, he may prescribe you with an antibiotic that treats urinary infections. He may also send the urine sample off the laboratory for analysis to identify the bacteria causing your symptoms.
Avatar f tn m currently 5 weeks pregnant had it confirmed at the doctors today, due to back pain he tested my wee for an infection... the dip test showed traces of blood what does this mean ?
Avatar f tn About 1 1/2 years ago started having pains in my wrists so I Had a swab test - clean, urine test a couple months after that - clean, and a blood test a couple after that - clean. Is it possible for an infection to not test positive on these tests because it has been present for a long time? Doctors say its not but is there a test thats best if its been present for a long time, and what test would not show if its been present for a long time...
Avatar n tn I recently started showing symptoms of either a STD or a UTI so I went to the Dr. to get check out. Well the urine test came back positive for Chlamydia. I've been in a relationship for the past 2 years and have been having unprotected sex for a while with her. I have been completely faithful but when I confronted her she admitted to cheating on me but the STD was news to her because she had never experienced any symptoms. She went right away and got tested in the ER.
Avatar n tn Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check. Ive had a urine test and it was ok so Im just curious, as it was clear is that it? am I clear for diabetes? thanks.
Avatar f tn If you performed oral on someone, you'd ask for an oral swab, not urine. Your infection is limited to the site of exposure, which is oral in this case. I agree that this is little to no risk. Oral sex on a vagina is lower risk than oral sex on a penis, as the penis enters the mouth and throat. Gonorrhea also isn't nearly as common, so the chances of you getting anything from this is very low. The only other thing you may be at risk for is syphilis, if she had any sores.
Avatar m tn I fully understand that identifying either pathogen requires specific test, but can standard urine test at least signal any potential bacterial infection? Also, if my Doctor tells me I have a low grade UTI, would STD possibly fall into that category? Would an STI that is causing me this much discomfort not show up in urine test or only be considered a low grade UTI?
Avatar f tn Dear Tito, If you have not used a condom during the intercourse, then it is possible that you have contracted an infection from the foreign flora of the rectum. Blood in the urine is a serious symptom and it should not be neglected. What you need to do now is visit your doctor, for him to perform the necessary test and prescribe you the treatment. When the infection will be determined your doctor will tell you if your partner also needs to be treated, most likely not. Regards, John.
Avatar f tn My question is could I have an infection in the cyst that would not show up on the urine based test or is this more likely just a different NGU. Additionally the urine test in the doctors office, a dip stick for non specific infection was negative as well. Thank again. Everyone for your expertise.
Avatar f tn My urine test results show leukocyte esterase 2+ wbc 21-50/HPF RBC 3-5/HPF epithelial cells few bacteria 1+ also 50-100.000 CFU/ML mixed urogenital flora.
Avatar n tn I was taking antibiotics for 2 weeks for an infected tooth which not 100% caused a yeast infection. I had urine test, came back normal. Not discharge. Just pain in pelvic area and swelling of the Labia and very red?
Avatar f tn Hi, In urine culture, the bacteria and other organisms responsible for a urinary tract infection grow on the media after a period of time, usually after 24 and 48 hours of incubation. If few organisms grow, the test is negative. If organisms grow in numbers large enough to indicate an infection, the culture is positive. The type of organisms causing the infection are identified with a microscope or by chemical tests.
Avatar n tn It sounds like a bad bladder infection . When I had dark urine it was found to have blood in it .You need a urine test at your doctors office .
Avatar f tn I obviously have some sort of infection as each morning my urine is filled with what looks like mucus, puss etc. stringy (I checked on one of them with a q-tip and it was a little bloody). But I have never had any other sort of discharge except in my urine and maybe a little post drip after urination that I just figured was urine (but looked clear/orderless and had the consistency of water).
