Hi all, does anyone know or have experience of ethanol injections for hot nodules? In my thyroid book they say it is being done commonly in Italy, but I'm not quite up to that journey.

I found an original post dated 11/24/08 about Ethanol/Alcohol Ablation but at that time according to the reply it still wasn't available in the US. I've been told by my doctor that I'm hyperthyroid and have mild T3 toxicosis likely from a toxic MNG or Hot nodule. Anyway I would like to find a doctor today that is doing Ethanol/Alcohol Ablation. It's been a few years since the original post and I'm hoping that it's now being done in the US.

I am not sure about the antibody test. I will check on that. I did read about the ethanol injections and will ask about that if the results are benign. Thank you for your helpful comments!

I drank heavily form saturday till Monday 4 Liters of beer each day. I am being called to do a Urine test for etg on Thurday morning. What can I do to pass the test. Please help me. Sonographically guided percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) has been recently used with excellent results in the treatment of toxic and pretoxic thyroid adenoma.
