Avatar n tn Urine test reveals, more often than not, the presence of diabetes. That was certainly the case with me. However, in early stages or in the pre-diabetes stage your kidneys may not be 'spilling out" the excess glucose from your blood and one may get a false sense security. This situation can last for a number of years with consequent damage to your organs by the high blood glucose.
Avatar f tn They are also looking to see if you may be showing signs of diabetes or dehydration as well.
Avatar n tn A urine test is not as accurate as a blood test, but it does show for sure if sugar is spilling over into the urine because there is not enough insulin working. So it will without doubt show if the child is extremely out of good glucose control. But if things are borderline, I don't know if you will see a positive test. A glucose test from blood is much more accurate.
Avatar f tn Doctor did a urine test today and I had sugar in my urine, now he is worried about pregnancy diabetes, has anyone else had sugar in their urine without having diabetes be the cause?
Avatar f tn If they suspected gestational diabetes they can easily see that in your urine when you go for regular appts, I bring my pee with me to every appt and they tested mine last time and I was flagged for diabetes, I had blood tests done and go back for more testing tmrw, also for preeclampsia they test that based on your blood pressure, drink lots of water because I heard that your urine can get a cloudy look if your getting dehydrated too, if there was something major wrong they test for those thing
Avatar f tn I had to do 3urine test that came back high sugar in my urine then I did my fasting glucose tollarance test at 10wks and came back neg everything was fine :) then the dr just asked if I wash with soap or use wipes or lotion down there (I don't ) but that can affect it too. Don't worry you also possibily didn't wipe correctly doing the clean catch.
Avatar m tn Is it possible to miss something in the urine test? Could it be anxiety causing this? I can’t seem to let it go.
Avatar m tn Docors ususally test for this by measuring microalbumin (which is a protein) in the urine. If this lab value becomes elevated, your doctor will typically start you on an ACE inhibitor, which will help slow the progression of diabetic nephropathy, along with good control of blood sugars. If you are having trouble maintaining good blood sugar levels, I suggest you go to your doctor and rework your medication and diabetes control plan. Keeping your sugars under control is crucial.
Avatar n tn Ketones and proteins in the urine can result from many factors, like excessive exercise, dehydration, high protein diet, kidney problems, and diabetes. Diabetes in the initial stages does not produce glucose in urine. However neither will it bring about ketones and proteins in the urine at an early stage. These are generally the signs of uncontrolled diabetes. You need to check the blood sugar fasting (8-12 hours) and two hours after a proper meal.
Avatar f tn I have gestational diabetes and they do check with every urine test to see if you have glucose in your urine. It helps them determine if your body is having issues producing and using insulin. I will tell you glucose will show up in your urine the more sugar you eat so if you are eating a lot of Ben and jerry's that's probably what is doing it. If i go off my diet and eat a few cookies they see the glucose in my urine.
Avatar f tn Yes typically you get tested at 24 weeks but if your urine or any other symptoms show you could have it possibly they will test you really I am how ever suprised they didn't tell you they were giving you the test.. I'm sorry to hear I have been tested since bout 12 weeks.
172023 tn?1334672284 Even though a test for hyperadrenocorticism was performed a couple of years ago I think that it would be a good idea to repeat it since a lot can change in a couple of years for a dog with their accelerated life spans. It would not hurt to test for diabetes insipidus either. Diabetes Insipidus can occur with other diseases and is very controllable with Desmopressin Acetate.
Avatar f tn I have diabetes type 2.
12208248 tn?1424755226 Yes it does vary depending on your Dr but according to the National Institute of Health the glucose screening is generally done between the 24-28 weeks unless you have glucose in your urine which the Dr usually tests every time you are in and if you have an abnormal glucose screening or 1 hour test then you go on to the glucose tolerance test or 3 hour test. Avatar f tn When I hit my 26th week this Thursday My OB set me up for a diabetes test. I really don't wanna go because I heard about the juice or soda they make you drink before taking the actual test.. Any advice on how I can get the drink down or is it really nasty?
Avatar n tn My daughter is 9 years old and has had juvenile diabetes for a year now. Her urine test came back that there are microprotiens in her urine. I am a little nervous about this. Any help would be great!
Avatar n tn The blotchy spots could be circulation as well as the cold. I think your doctor should do a more thorough test and check you for diabetes, and then you will know. They can do a test which will test the past several months to see what your average blood glucose has been. I think I would suggest that. You might want to look up the side effects of atenolol also.

Avatar m tn I'm 22 y.o. I've been urinating frequently in the past 2-3 years as far as I can remember (possibly longer than that). But I also noticed that I only tend do to that when I drink excessively compared to other people, so there are days where I urinate normally (which are usually the day where I drink less water).
Avatar f tn t have many symptoms of a UTI (other than smell) and my test for diabetes was good. Besides that I feel perfectly normal. Can anyone explain?
Avatar f tn t know if urine test gives the same result as blood test. Has anyone used Glucotest or PawCheck? Both are home tests. Appreciate any feedback.
