Avatar n tn After watching my trips to bathroom and water drinking she asked me to do the urine test and sure enough it was positive. I was only 22 at that time and under the belief that this was disease of the old and or the middle aged ! As has been mentioned before, in early stages , you may not have overt symptoms like I did.
Avatar f tn They are also looking to see if you may be showing signs of diabetes or dehydration as well.
Avatar n tn I am no expert on diabetes, just the child of a type 2 diabetic and niece of three diabetics, but I think the urine test you are referring to is for something called ketones. I think this test tells you if you have uncontrolled diabetes.
Avatar f tn Doctor did a urine test today and I had sugar in my urine, now he is worried about pregnancy diabetes, has anyone else had sugar in their urine without having diabetes be the cause?
Avatar f tn If they suspected gestational diabetes they can easily see that in your urine when you go for regular appts, I bring my pee with me to every appt and they tested mine last time and I was flagged for diabetes, I had blood tests done and go back for more testing tmrw, also for preeclampsia they test that based on your blood pressure, drink lots of water because I heard that your urine can get a cloudy look if your getting dehydrated too, if there was something major wrong they test for those thing
Avatar m tn She said there were traces of glucose and white blood cells in my urine. She has asked me to go in for a blood test and I think a Prostate psa test. I'm worried it could be something serious?
Avatar f tn I had to do 3urine test that came back high sugar in my urine then I did my fasting glucose tollarance test at 10wks and came back neg everything was fine :) then the dr just asked if I wash with soap or use wipes or lotion down there (I don't ) but that can affect it too. Don't worry you also possibily didn't wipe correctly doing the clean catch.
Avatar m tn WBCs in your urine means that you have an infection of some kind. It sounds like you have NGU, which can be caused by many things, including normal mouth bacteria from oral sex. You should follow up with your doctor about this, and definitely about your high glucose. That can indicate diabetes, and it's VERY important that you follow up on that. Your testing sounds fine - the tests and the process, etc.
Avatar m tn If you are having trouble maintaining good blood sugar levels, I suggest you go to your doctor and rework your medication and diabetes control plan. Keeping your sugars under control is crucial.
Avatar n tn Ketones and proteins in the urine can result from many factors, like excessive exercise, dehydration, high protein diet, kidney problems, and diabetes. Diabetes in the initial stages does not produce glucose in urine. However neither will it bring about ketones and proteins in the urine at an early stage. These are generally the signs of uncontrolled diabetes. You need to check the blood sugar fasting (8-12 hours) and two hours after a proper meal.
Avatar f tn I have gestational diabetes and they do check with every urine test to see if you have glucose in your urine. It helps them determine if your body is having issues producing and using insulin. I will tell you glucose will show up in your urine the more sugar you eat so if you are eating a lot of Ben and jerry's that's probably what is doing it. If i go off my diet and eat a few cookies they see the glucose in my urine.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been diagnosed with diabetes at 13 weeks? I was today and am devastated. My doctor tested me earlier than usual but didn't say why (at the time I didn't know she was testing early but after researching it your usually tested at 24wks.
172023 tn?1334672284 If a bladder and abdominal X-Ray has not been performed than it should be. It is great that a urine culture and sensitivity is pending, and I would have the abdominal ultrasound performed. Even though a test for hyperadrenocorticism was performed a couple of years ago I think that it would be a good idea to repeat it since a lot can change in a couple of years for a dog with their accelerated life spans. It would not hurt to test for diabetes insipidus either.
Avatar f tn I have diabetes type 2.
12208248 tn?1424755226 Yes it does vary depending on your Dr but according to the National Institute of Health the glucose screening is generally done between the 24-28 weeks unless you have glucose in your urine which the Dr usually tests every time you are in and if you have an abnormal glucose screening or 1 hour test then you go on to the glucose tolerance test or 3 hour test. If anyone ever has questions www.nlm.nih.
Avatar f tn The test itself isn't bad at all.. you'll be just fine. I failed the one hour and two hour so I have to be on a strict diet which *****! No more caving into my cravings or sweet tooth. But its temporary and I'll do whatever to have a healthy baby.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 9 years old and has had juvenile diabetes for a year now. Her urine test came back that there are microprotiens in her urine. I am a little nervous about this. Any help would be great!
Avatar f tn I went to the doc yesterday and had sugar in my urine. I have to take the glucose test at the end of the month. If it is positive what should I expect? And how serious is gestational diabetes?
Avatar n tn The blotchy spots could be circulation as well as the cold. I think your doctor should do a more thorough test and check you for diabetes, and then you will know. They can do a test which will test the past several months to see what your average blood glucose has been. I think I would suggest that. You might want to look up the side effects of atenolol also.
Avatar m tn Hi l am 48 and overweight but eat a healthy diet but worried about the risk of type 2 diabetes. l last had a full blood test three years ago and was normal , A few month ago my doctor gave me a finger prick test and he said it was normal , does that prove l dont have diabetes or do l need to take a full blood test where they take blood with a needle in your arm, l hate that. Avatar f tn t mind sharing your experience so far......I am 9 weeks and at high risk for gestational diabetes and SCARED.
Avatar m tn I'm 22 y.o. I've been urinating frequently in the past 2-3 years as far as I can remember (possibly longer than that). But I also noticed that I only tend do to that when I drink excessively compared to other people, so there are days where I urinate normally (which are usually the day where I drink less water).
1806721 tn?1554333407 In the past 6 months, besides rapid weight loss, I also experienced fatigue, weakness, cold feet, dizziness, sudden drop of blood pressure, increased thirst and trips to restroom, low grade fever on and off with left side abdominal pain. My doc thought I had UTI and ulcer b/c my urine/blood test show staph and h pylori infections. Two months ago, my fasting glucose was 92 (normsl). However, I also heard that you may still have high blood sugar even though the fasting level is normal.
Avatar f tn t have many symptoms of a UTI (other than smell) and my test for diabetes was good. Besides that I feel perfectly normal. Can anyone explain?
