The best thing to do is to have a urinalysis done . This will rule out any infection . Medications may darken your urine. A cloudy urine may suggest an infection but a urinalysis will be able to evaluate this best.The urinalysis will be best done after your period since this may alter urinalysis findings.

It was a urine test. Then I called a doctor and he prescribed me 500mg Amoxicillin 3 times a day for 10 days. I actually took amoxicillin for an uti not while pregnant tho !. & it worked perfectly pain was gone by the end of the day. So serious , but idk about taking it while pregnant but for the uti yeah.
Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD.

When the medicine ran out, I went back to the dentist and was prescribed amoxicillin 500 mg to prevent infection after the wisdom teeth extraction (took them for over a week and-a-half as prescribed). While recovering and taking the antibiotics, I still had to go to the bathroom. A lot. The volume wasn't the same. Sometimes it was just the same old sensation of having to go, but little to nothing coming out. I even noticed my stream getting weaker though that's improved since then.
With reference to self medicating, I was taking amoxicillin for a sinus infection. I had a low risk exposure (protected sex) with a massage therapist the week prior to getting the sinus infection. I experienced the irritation on my penis with some mild low back pain about 2 days prior to the infection (about 7 days after the massage girl).
The back pain went away a day after taking the Amoxicillin (which would have been 3 grams). The irritation still exist, but less so.
The anti-biotics should take care of the infection. Hopefully they gave her something other than amoxicillin because that anti-biotic takes a while to work and get rid of infections, but it does work. If an infection is not taken care of, with anti-biotics, it can spread, which is why I mentioned the kidneys. Though because she is being treated, it should not be anything to worry about. Make sure she takes all of the anti-biotics and she should be fine.
I need to mention that i had this previously(urinary infection) and i took amoxicillin for 7 days and everything passed. Even now i am under this treatment is the 6th day and everything seems to be alright just the urine has like a fish smell and is really yellow specialy in the morning . Now i am thinking if the condom broke...that is really visible i think never happend to me...but what i heard says that.

She also recently has a little blood in her urine. I am treating her with amoxicillin, and understand that she may have a UTI underlying the ectopic ureter, but does it really sound like one if she is not constantly dripping and squatting to urinate?
