Avatar m tn Hi, I am not really adept with this however, studies have not shown substantial and conclusive evidence with regards to the role of apple vinegar on urinary tract infection. The closest scientific article I can get showed that apple juice actually increases the risk for kidney stone formation after 6 years when taken at a specific amount each day.At this point however, there seems to be no harm in trying.
Avatar f tn Honey is high in sugar, and will attract and feed certain bacteria. It does fight certain other bacteria, but probably not the ones that attack the bladder. Because you're on antibiotics, the Kefir probably won't hurt, but you'll get more value out of a good probiotic supplement. The reason for this is that the antibiotics will kill off the few bacteria in the kefir, and the dairy might attract the bacteria, while a probiotic supplement has billions of organisms in it.
Avatar n tn The infection can move up to your kidneys quite quickly. Urinary tract infection is not serious in females, but in males it is.

4251679 tn?1370305531 UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.
Avatar n tn You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. Crystals can be dangerous in male dogs because if they become large enough they can become lodged in the urethra and cause blockage (even in dogs, though more common in male cats).

Avatar n tn It may be an isolated case secondary to the intake of food containing high levels of calcium or it could be due to an underlying condition like calcium stones or a urinary tract infection. I suggest that you have a urinalysis done to rule out any possible urinary tract stone and infections. A serum calcium and phosphate level as well as assessment of the parathyroid hormones may also be indicated. Parathyroid gland disorders may affect the levels of calcium and phosphorus in the body.
Avatar n tn After confirming the diagnosis of a urinary tract infection through urine tests, antibiotic treatment may be started. A urine culture and sensitivity test will determine the specific organism responsible as well as the antibiotic treatment. Drinking plenty of fluids also help. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn I have a question for those of you with urinary tract problems. I have had several UTIs and seem to be retaining urine. Also, my bladder and kidneys hurt. As many of you know, I do have Lupus. The question I have is should I be going to a urologist? I have talked to my GP about this and I have even mentioned being tested for Lupus Nephritis, but he just tells me that anytime he has checked my kidneys they have been fine.
Avatar f tn However make sure they do not have an infection like gonorrhea or chlamydia which can feel like a urinary tract infection but CAN be transmitted by oral sex." It therefore sounds more like a coincidence than cause and effect. I don't think a high fever is a hallmark of either chlamydia or gonorrhea. That said, it is worthwhile for your daughter to know that there is a pretty virulent gonorrhea going around that can be orally transmitted.

Avatar m tn Hello, Cloudy urine can be due to some substances in food, pus in urine, urinary tract infection, bladder infection, cystitis, proteinuria, prostatitis or kidney conditions. You need to consult a urologist and get a urine examination and urine culture done along with an ultrasound kidney to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn There is nothing you can really do about the urinary tract infection except take the antibiotics. They may want you to take a stronger antibiotic (prescribed by your doctor) but being pregnant makes us more probable to have urinary tract infections. It doesn't become a problem unless you ignore it.
