Avatar m tn Some here on the board are not real pleased with the Mayo clinic. It seems they have their own set of standards to give out a dx of MS. I personally know nothing about them and wish you the best....hoping for that answer.

5889951 tn?1380316047 s lymphoma, kidney disease, leukemia, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and sickle cell anemia are a few of the many conditions that can cause protein in urine, according to the Mayo Clinic. Also keep in mind that certain medications and dehydration can also cause the problem.

Avatar f tn Try using an antibacterial soap like Dial If your bikini line looks bumpy and red after shaving, you may have ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs happen after the hair is shaved, says the Mayo Clinic. When the stubble grows back in, it may curl, growing back underneath the skin and causing an irritated bump. Consult your doctor about your ingrown hairs, and if he approves, you can use home remedies to treat them.
1097091 tn?1266793463 Here is an article from the Mayo Clinic on Peripheral Neuropathy. It is a good overview, including causes. The lesion at C3-C4 could well be the cause of the urinary problems. Yes, the urologist has a set of tests that they do, including Urodynamic tests that show how well the bladder fills and emptying and if all the muscles are working in good coordination.
486038 tn?1300063367 I've not been to the Jacksonville Mayo or the MS clinic in Houston, I'm sorry about that. I have heard a lot of good things about the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Dr. Elliot Frohman who works there. I'm sure if you google his name you can find out much more than I can tell you about, here.
Avatar m tn Truthfully, I've heard one of the best MS Clinics in the US is the Mellen Center at Cleveland Clinic. You might try checking out http://www.mscare.org They list all the clinics available, etc. My neuro said the clinic at Cincinatti isn't that great but thinks Cleveland Clinic is really good. I've never heard of the Mayo Clinic being highly rated for MS, but more for heart desease.
Avatar f tn I decided that I should travel to the United States and hopefully get a diagnosis. I know that Mayo clinic and Cleveland clinic have a good dysautonomia clinics but I don't know which one should I choose so I would appreciate any suggestions !!! Also I know healthcare in the US is so expensive and since I don't have insurance I wonder how much such a visit to one of those hospitals will roughly cost ?I know it's hard to tell but I'm asking for a roughly cost. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I am 34 and back in march 2012 my right foot went completely numb. I am a labor and delivery nurse. I now have a foot orthodic so that I don't drag my right foot. When this first happened I bumped back and forth b/w a neurologists and an orthopedic with no definite diagnosis. Now 5months later my right hand goes numb at times. I also notice my temperature sensation is diminished on my right side. I also now have pain behind my right eye off and on With blurry vision but no loss of sight.
Avatar m tn It can cause problems with urination and can also have infections. Here is a link to the mayo clinic they have a lot of great info on just about everything. Best of luck to you.
Avatar n tn I have visited a urologist in the past who after conducting several tests could find no physical reason for the infections and have only been able to convince one family physician to try the prophylactic antibiotics which worked well. I have an appointment to see a new physician at the Mayo Clinic, but that is weeks away and I am getting worn down with the constant treatment for these recurrent UTIs. What are my treatment options?
Avatar n tn urinary track infections as well as yeast infections can be very common during pregnancy. ive had yest infections constantly throughout my pregnancy. if you think you have a urinary track infection call the doctor and let them know.
Avatar f tn Maybe I was too harsh about Mayo. To be fair to Mayo Clinic, I do think they do have some very good doctors there, maybe it's just hard to get a neuro diagnosis - as it seems to be most other places in this country - so what's new? I did really think the Mayo radiologist who looked at my films was excellent - he found a couple of things the original outside radiologist did not notice such as brain mass loss.
Avatar f tn i have been to many doctors, but all the doctors say i have cronic pain. i was tested once at the emergency room for a urinary tract infection, but they never cultured it. is it posible to have a urinary infection without testing positive for one. not one doctor has ever given me antibiotics, i have to urinate frequently, the pain is getting worse all the time in my bladder and when the gynecologist tried to exam me last time i past out, because it was so painful.
655875 tn?1295695107 t hear back from them right away - I requested an appointment with the Mayo Clinic and it was almost a year before I heard back from them! If your current docs office does the request/referral, though, it should go a lot faster.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm a 26 year old male, on February 14th of this year I had unprotected oral and vaginal sexual intercourse one time with a female. About a week and a half later I started having mild to moderate urinary symptoms; (painful urination mostly afterward all through the urethra, frequent urination, a slight discharge etc...).
Avatar n tn We have been to several doctors over the years and I have done much reading. Our most recent eval was at the Mayo clinic and all agree that using a saline nasal rinse is a good idea. I think you have to find what works for you as an individual. Good luck!
Avatar f tn This is the second opinion at the Mayo Clinic by a urogyn surgeon. I have a total prolapse- uterine, rectocele, enterocele, and cystocele. Grade 3-4. With urinary incontience and some residual as you can imagine with the prolapse. Feeling is that this runs in the family. Mom and sisters have had to have the same type of surgery at a young age as well (20's).
553283 tn?1409694311 Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic are obviously both top-flight medical centers, so the choice between the two would not be so much "which is better, Cleveland or Mayo;" it would be which one has a doctor or program that is more specialized to what you need.
572651 tn?1530999357 A while back I entered the patient scholarship opportunity for the Social Media conference at Mayo Clinic. You may have even been one of the many people who ‘liked’ me through Facebook. They awarded three scholarships for the patient/caregiver and one companion to attend the conference. I was not one of the three people selected to attend, but I did reach out to the winners with my congratulations.
