Avatar m tn Many gyms offer rowing machines, upper body ergometers, swimming pools, and boxing rooms. These can all be used by those with limited leg function. A rowing machine provides aerobic workouts to the biceps, triceps, pectoralis muscles, and the upper back muscles. An upper body ergometer (arm bike) looks like an upside-down bike that is pedaled with your hands. In the pool, shallow water arm movements with leg stabilization can be done to stress the arms, chest and upper back.

Avatar m tn Rowing Machines are good for those who desire a whole body workout, but have limited space. Rowing uses both the upper and lower body for aerobic exercise. Resistance equipment is a good compliment to any home aerobic fitness equipment. The two most widely recognized kinds of weight equipment are home gyms or multi-stations and free weights. Free weights are reasonably prices and require little space.
Avatar n tn 1° Is such an exposure possible concerning HIV? And why, because we coud have infected body fluid (blood on the machines recently used by owners)? 2° Have some cases like mine been reported as resulting in HIV transmission? 3° Are sunburns or bumps or minor scratches "open wounds" that could allow HIV to enter? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am trying to decide on a home exercise machine. I would like either and elliptical or a water rowing machine. I have researched both and tested out ellipticals. Rowing machines are a little harder to find. I know an elliptical will be good for cardio but will it also help build muscle?
Avatar n tn For 15 min, followed by fast walking on 4.0 on the tree min for 15 min n bike on hills for 15 min. Then I start my weight training program. From squats free weight smith machine n other leg machines. Military presses, barbell well I do full body work outs. I did drop 10 lbs on my weight when I turned 27 weeks but just incase. But I feel great afterwards. I believe that is the main reason I really don't have major pains.
193609 tn?1292180293 I currently workout at Anytime Fitness! I love it and would recommend it to everyone! All the cardio machines have a 13 inch TV on them, and have the Dish Network! I love working out there and their weight machines are great! I also just started Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred! that 30 minute video will kick your butt!! I recommend that to anyone that gets bored after a while...this video is short and to the point!!!
Avatar n tn I usually do the elliptical for 30 minutes an then go to the weight room and do arm and leg machines. For some reason I am still struggling with losing weight and I have also been watching what I eat. Some say I do too much of a repetition and my body is used to the work out. I need some good work out plans to help me!
Avatar n tn I have been going to the gym about 4 times a week, doing cardio and also weight machines but still have not lost weight.
Avatar f tn You should not work the same muscle every day!! You should give it a days rest. If you work your upper body on Mondays then on Tuesdays do your lower body and Wed. upper and Thur. lower. You want to work each body part at least 3x per week. Start off easy and slowly increase the weights or reps.
11464625 tn?1422861172 It’s not necessary to be sore after every workout to experience results. Consistently leaving your body in a sore wreck is a perfect way to eventually end up over-trained. To boost recovery post-workout incorporate foam rolling, stretching, and light activity into your rest days to circulate blood flow and help your muscles bounce back quicker for the next training session. Researchers in New Zealand confirmed that light exercise is the most effective means of reducing soreness.
1858556 tn?1319811692 my heart rate is between 125 - 130. Should I wait for it to come down before i start on a 30 minute workout on the weight machines the weights? If yes, how far down?
Avatar f tn If you're used to lifting weights, you can keep lifting weights, but I would take it down to a level where you are not straining against the load. Any workout that your body is used to doing, you can continue, but reduce it so that you're not putting undue stress on your body. Also make sure that you're able to breathe evenly and completely. Baby needs oxygen.
Avatar f tn You may choose to warm up by doing squat or lunges, which work on many muscle groups, or do jogging butt kicks that emphasize the quadriceps. Other lower-body dynamic stretches include lateral leg swings, clockwork lunges and even specific martial arts kicks and footwork like the capoeira ginga. Upper-body dynamic stretches include arm swings, standing trunk twists, quadruped trunk twists and figure-eights with a light medicine ball.
Avatar m tn This has happened repeatedly. It happens when I go on the treadmill first and start there or when I go on it after I have been on the elliptical. It has also happened once or twice in the middle of my thirty minute workout just on the treadmill. I don't feel physically stressed. I thought it might be the treadmill machines but I have tried them all and still had this happen.
Avatar f tn Tuesday-assuning that you have joined a gym or are already a member of one do a strength workout (on machines for now). Do exercises for chest, biceps, triceps, and core. Keep the workout between 30-45 minutes to start. Rest 30 seconds to 1 minute between sets. Do 2 sets of 15 repetitions for each exercise then go home! No cardio on this day Wednesday-do some kind of cardiovascular exercise for 20-30 minutes. If you walked on Monday swim, cycle, elliptical, stepper this day.
773214 tn?1295135069 I don't have a video or anything, but I hit the gym 3 days a week. I just do some light cardio (making sure I am never short of breath) and mini crunches on an exercise ball, and them some light weights on machines (they aren't very heavy so that I strain, but I do lots of repetitions so that I can still feel the burn). I have been going this whole time through even my last pregnancy and I think it helps me with the symptoms.
Avatar n tn Is it okay to workout and do exercise while pregnant? Just simple things like the treadmill/elliptical and basic strengthening machines?
Avatar n tn Although I go to the gym and workout, I'm sure I'm not doing it on the same level you are. My workout gets my blood circulation and keeps me toned up but that's about it. When my PSVT kicks in, I just stop my workout until my rate goes back to normal. Since I've had ablations done, the return to NSR is usually less than a minute or two. In your case, you may want to stop the workout, lie down so the blood can circulate more easily back to your head.
Avatar n tn Hello, two days ago I got a few small bumps on my upper back. Today there are plenty more, and they have white heads like acne, but im certain that it's not acne. I think it has to be a reaction to something but I am not sure what. I eat different things, and workout at the gym a lot and sweat. Any clue what may have caused this and what I can do to make it go away? I have taken benadryla few times, but that has not helped.
Avatar m tn Arms They work hardest in conjunction with bigger, stronger upper-body muscles. If you want big arms, do chinups and dips, If you can't jump right onto the parallel bars and knock out a set of dips, start with bench dips. Sit on the edge of a bench or chair, palms alongside your hips, fingers pointed toward your legs, feet flat on the floor.
Avatar n tn i've done 4 sessions on flabelos on programe 2 in one week i have lost 3.5 lbs.
Avatar f tn I usuallywalk about 2 miles (sometimes I will run for just a few minutes, it is more walking) and then I will use weight machines (abs, arms, and legs). I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if anyone knows why this could be??
12981378 tn?1440334797 Did a full body workout, from barbell over head press, bench with weights sumo squats, kettle bell squats, smith machine, kettle ball swings, pushup burpies and some other all free weights and the bike for 2 miles on hills n 3 mile fast walked inclined on 10, yet no damn contractions. Not even a HB.. WTH! I'm 37 weeks I should at least feel something. ..
Avatar f tn Another option is trying an upper body circuit training program, using high repetitions and low loads, and short rest breaks between exercises. Using upper body machines or free weight exercises that work your latissimus dorsi, deltoids, pectorals, biceps, triceps and rhomboids will get your heart pumping.
