Common Questions and Answers about Unusual vaginal discharge

vagina

Avatar n tn Anyway, the entrance to my vagina has been kind of itching, and when I looked with a mirror I saw an unusual discharge. It's white and looks like it has chunks of torn up toilet paper or like it's kind of chunky. I smelled it and it doesn't have any fishy odor or anything. Could this be a yeast infection? This has never happened to me before. Also, I take tri-sprintec and I read that one of the side effects can be yeast infections.
Avatar f tn Today I have been having an unusual amount of thick white discharge. No odor itch or burn. Just thick. It's uncomfortable annoying and wet. Im 35+4 weeks. Anyone else going through this? Is it my mucus plug?
Avatar f tn But when your still young, discharge can vary in color and texture. If it is itchy or sore or smells unusual then you could have an infection. You should go see your gynecologist right away. Has it always been that color? Or did it recently change? Because when vaginal discharge changes color it is usually because of an underlying infection. Emotional stress, a tampon or foreign body left in the vagina, or ovulation.
Avatar f tn I meant to say say it doesn't look like a "cottage cheese" discharge. is it still common to get one and not have that discharge?
Avatar f tn Hello, Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina. The exact cause for the change in type of bacteria is still not known, but it is can be due to IUD’s,multiple sex partners or having intercourse with a new partner. In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present.
Avatar f tn Ususually discharge that has an unusual colour to it would indicate a bacterial infection and would need antibiotics to treat it. It could be a cyst, but it could be something else. Only way to know and recieve treatment for it is to see a doctor. Leaving these things untreated often makes them a lot worse.
Avatar m tn Ok, I'm here because i'm extremely concerned for my girlfriend. For about 5 days, she's been having extremely dark brownish black vaginal discharge, to the point where, at first, I thougnt she'd had diarrhea. We had a night where we began (in the "heat of passion") to have unprotected sex, but quickly realized what we were doing, pulled out, and continued with a condom on. I did not ejaculate, so not much more than a slight bit of pre-*** should have escaped.
Avatar f tn All types of gynecological cancers, from vaginal, uterine, ovarian, cervical, can cause unusual discharge that has an odor. Yes. Tell us more as we'd like to support you, hon.
Avatar f tn It's not uncommon to have thick white discharge at the beginning or end of your period as long as there's no itching, pain, or really foul odor along with it. If your regular period doesn't start soon, I'd first take a hpt and go from there, but usually this discharge is normal. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hello, Such intermenstrual vaginal discharge is most often associated with old endometrial tissues. It could also mean that for whatever reason during your last menses the entire uterine lining failed to make a timely exit. In some cases however there is cause for concern like cervical cancer, pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), menopause, or sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and Chlamydia .
Avatar n tn Nov. of 2011, I had unprotected sex and felt a burning sensation in the vaginal opening 2 days after. Since then (going on 10 weeks now) I've had an intermittent but persistent on and off burning sensation, not when urinating, no discharge, no blisters/patches, no itching, redness, or any other symptoms other than burning. Was examined and tested for other STDs and vaginal yeast/bacteria, UTI - all negative. The Obgyn couldn't see anything unusual.
Avatar f tn Recently I have been experiencing vaginal discharge that resembles lotion, and sometimes has gel-like clumps of mucus in it, it does not have any unusual odor and is not accompanied by any burning but sometimes provokes a little itchiness. I occasionally get waves of cramping or spasms in my vagina that almost feel as if I can feel the discharge moving downward. I have had a Skyla IUD for about two years and don't remember having this type of discharge yet with the Skyla.
Avatar n tn i have an unussual vaginal discharge lately.. it bothers me because the ussual vaginal discharge is color white but mine its light green, im afraid for what is wrong? it started 4 days already.
645347 tn?1223699081 Sounds like vaginal discharge to me, if it's white it sounds perfectly healthy, and the amount of discharge is likely to increase as your pregnancy progresses. If it turns a different colour, or smells foul, then go to your doctor, otherwise relax. Hope this helps.
3215903 tn?1345851111 I have vaginal itching without any unusual discharge, yeast, odor, other pains, or bleeding. It started about a week or so ago and at first it was barely noticeable, but now it itches so bad I can't help but scratch. I took a look down there with a mirror and it looks all red and irritated. It's also starting to itch worse and feel irritated when I wipe. I thought maybe getting a feminine wash would help, and it does for a little while, but then the itch comes back.
