Avatar f tn I am not sure I am allowed to copy/paste stuff here. I hope it is ok..if not just delete it. I found this on Wiki and it does say it is and opiod and also says this - Tramadol is associated with the development of physical dependence and a severe withdrawal syndrome.[59] Tramadol causes typical opiate-like withdrawal symptoms as well as atypical withdrawal symptoms including seizures.
Avatar n tn How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.
Avatar m tn Ultracet needs to be tapered. How much were you taking a day?
Avatar m tn Thanks Mercedes175.....So I've been taking this wrong. I took my Tramadol with 2 ibuprofen and not acetaminophen. I figured what's the difference...apparently there is. That's a lesson learned about following the Dr. directions exactly. I guess they way I've been feeling is a certain amount of withdrawal and not my injury symptoms. I'm off to the store to pickup some Tylenol.
Avatar m tn Hey Aaron... Ultracet is addictive. Many people have gotten hooked on it. Its Ultram/Ultracet/Tramadol I believe they are all related and whehter doctors say so or not, they are addictive and can be dangerous. :( sorry for the bad news. They are also derived from the opiate family. Be careful with them. Ive used them during in between times when I was using -- just to hold w/drawal at bay -- so that should tell you something right there..
Avatar f tn I would think you are having some fairly mild withdrawal symptoms. If you continue to take the Opiates the withdrawals will be much worse the next time you stop taking them. The thing about Opiates is that they only fool the brain into not feeling the pain the nerve sends to the brain. After awhile you will require more and more of the drug to stop the pain and the drug will become less and less effective on the pain; a vicious cycle --- The longer you use the worse the withdrawals will be.
Avatar f tn In this country, the natural amino acid 5HTP is becoming very popular to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. You can order it online without prescription. Stick at it. Read the other posts on line, and post your own whenever you need to. There should always be someone around you can talk to.
Avatar n tn s things to take that are not addictive that can help with withdrawal symptoms such as clonidine (Catapres) and hydroxyzine (Vistaril, Atarax). Please, steer clear of the Ultram.
1071153 tn?1255369215 It is also good to read PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms) to let you know what to expect down the road. There is also a lot of info on Suboxone there. This takes time and is hard but it can be done and is so worth it. Good luck in your journey. Posting here is also a great support system.
Avatar f tn Do not stop using tramadol suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, nausea, diarrhea, tremors, chills, hallucinations, trouble sleeping, or breathing problems. Talk to your doctor about how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when stopping the medication. Do not crush the tramadol tablet. This medicine is for oral (by mouth) use only. Powder from a crushed tablet should not be inhaled or diluted with liquid and injected into the body.
Avatar m tn Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Avatar m tn Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar f tn Ultracet is a straight up 37.5 tramadol and 325 acitomitophene(sp?
757597 tn?1315801812 , as directed, it did result in some uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms which I found tolerable. However, each individual will have their own personal history and it's their decision as to whether or not the drug is effective in treating their pain and if they are willing to accept that there is a potential for addiction (as with any form of medication). You're quite welcome LadyGeeGee. Thank you for your kind thoughts and take care.
5639849 tn?1372346883 The worst part for me is the PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) which is what happens once the worst of the acute withdrawal sickness is over. I've read a number of articles and medical reviews on this and much of it can be attributed to the 9 or so chemicals this drug interacts with in the brain. It's much more complex then medical professionals originally thought but the human body/brain is a remarkable machine and it will fix the damage these drugs have caused.
Avatar f tn whats ultracet? i know its a pain reliever with tylenol, but does it give you the energy and motivation of vike or percs? I ask because I had to change doctors, and while he wasnt too happy to write for the vicodins i have been on for years, he had no problem with ultracet and he gave me a script.....so im basically asking, do people get addicted to this drug? should i not even start it?
Avatar m tn The magority of my withdrawal symptoms were gone or barely noticable after 14 days. Depression was longer lasting about 30 days. I thought the withdrawal symptoms were all gone after 30 days but then just last Thursday so a week ago, I began to have tremors in my arms and legs and severe stiffness in my legs. My family doctor said it is Withdrawal Tremors. What I don't understand is why did those 2 symptoms start at the same time and start so late in the withdrawal process?
Avatar n tn ultracet it highly addictive as well. The withdrawl is VERY bad .
Avatar n tn I have been on Darvocet (3 x day) for ten years. I have severe scoliosis, deteriorating disks and bone spurs in my neck. With Darvocet being withdrawn from the market, my doctor put me on Tramadol, 2 x day. Today is my first day on the new meds, I feel rather out of sorts but not too bad yet. Can't tell yet whether it's helping pain or not, since I always hurt. Has anyone else switched to Tramadol? With the Darvocet dose I've been on, can I expect severe withdrawal symptoms?

Avatar f tn Is it worth it to take use the Thomas Recipe while either tapering off of DOC or tapering off of suboxone? And is it worth it to use in the withdrawal period between DOC and being able to start suboxone to help minimize symptoms during those 24-72 hours? Or is it just meant to start using on the day when you go completely drug free? Sorry to be so specific. I am about to either go completely CT or taper off as quickly as possible (ie less than 2 weeks) using suboxone.
Avatar f tn OH MY GOD! I have been addicted to this horrible drug-from-hell for well over 6 years. It started out by my cousin giving me samples from her job at an orthopediac clinic. I had neck & lower back pains, because I need a breast reduction. That started out fine, but then I started to notice that I was getting sick whenever she didn't bring me any samples. I found out that the pills she was giving me were called "Ultracet.
Avatar f tn i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?
Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Avatar f tn Hey any one awake yet....I have a question...the doc. now has put me on ultracet...it says 37.5 5/325....i had to take 2 yesterday over the cource of 12 hours...my questions is i'm reading that ppl are becoming addicted...i dont understand how....they dont make me feel high.....however the pain is better..not completely gone but better...so my ? is why are ppl getting addicted taking 10-15-20 a day if they dont get you high...can someone enlighten me.
Avatar f tn Anyone out there that can feel me in on Ultracet experiences? My doctor put me on this instead of Hydrocodone today and said that since I take Effexor XR that there is a possibility of seizures. I have researched this since and have read all the medical info but would like to hear from real people and their experiences. I have take Hydrocodone since April of last year, 1 or 2 5/500 a day on average and rarely 3 or 4. There are some days that I have not needed it but most days I do.
439522 tn?1214951189 Tramadol does work in similiar ways to narcotic pain medication. It is not a controlled substance. But It can be habit forming and cause withdrawls. And it is true some believe it is harder to get off of than narcotics themselves. But of course stopping a medication or experiencing actual withdrawls can feel more intense to one person than the other.
