Common Questions and Answers about Ultracet pain reliever

ultracet

901372 tn?1242309047 Have you inquired about something like Tramadol (Ultram)? It's supposedly a non-narcotic pain reliever, by prescription, that contains no Tylenol and seems to ease the muscle aches and bone aches.
Avatar m tn It may be mild in terms of pain reliever but it has a nasty half life and plays havoc on your system when you go off it..not to mention your brain (it also acts like an anti-dep). I wake up every morning with terrible sweats/cold, aches in every orfuses I know of (and didn't know I had). I feel nauseous and just plain sick. But worse than the flu. I take a couple of the trams..and about 30min later I feel better. The problem is now I can't just stop...
Avatar f tn whats ultracet? i know its a pain reliever with tylenol, but does it give you the energy and motivation of vike or percs? I ask because I had to change doctors, and while he wasnt too happy to write for the vicodins i have been on for years, he had no problem with ultracet and he gave me a script.....so im basically asking, do people get addicted to this drug? should i not even start it?
Avatar m tn Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar f tn Ultracet is a straight up 37.5 tramadol and 325 acitomitophene(sp?
Avatar m tn I never experienced any type of addiction to it, nor did it help much with my pain. Many docs will offer to prescribe Tramadol/Ultracet because you cannot abuse it due to it being a partial antagonist/agonist. Unlike Vicodin or any other opiate, which are all full-agonists, the antagonist property of it means that if you take more than you are supposed to it acts in reverse. An agonist binds strongly to your receptors and gives you pain relief. Euphoria is a side effect.
Avatar m tn I have so multiple pain issues, I'm not sure who to see anymore. I've been seeing my rheumi for the past 10 years for fibro, recurrent bursitis, bilateral shoulder impingement syndrome. I've had carpal tunnel issues, then surgery. Now for the past two years I have episodic tingling in BOTH hands. Also I have pain sometimes in my left thumb/ wrist thats shoots into my forearm. Then I also have a lumbar herniated disc, DDD in all my spine, bad neck with pinched nerves.
Avatar f tn I get some bad backaches. N headaches I'm 10w3d what pain reliever is OK to take?
Avatar f tn At 10w4d I am wondering what kind of pain reliever is safe for me to take for backaches n headaches ? I asked the Dr but he avoided the question.
Avatar f tn i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?
Avatar n tn How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.
Avatar f tn If you need more hydros to function becuase of w/ds and pain, let your doctor know. THey are more likely to help you then. Ultracet will not treat your pain the same way. It is not a narcotic like hydrocodone/lortab. Good luck...
Avatar f tn 5, as needed. 2 weeks ago my cervical disk started going haywire with pain. I upped my Ultracet to 3 a day as prescribed and started taking the Zanaflex to the maximum dosage too. This did not faze the pain. One night it was so bad, that for the first time ever, I had to go to the ER and get a pain shot because I could not take the awful pain any more. I went this past week and had an epidural injection in my neck to help with the pain and as of right now, it has not helped AT ALL.

Avatar f tn My friend and I were talking the other day and she said, "Oh, my mom said a lady at her prayer group said that there was "a new darvocet out on the market now." Of course I am more than curious since my mom just had to stop darvocet herself. My friend then tells me this "new darvocet" is called Ultracet! Can you believe this? I knew this was coming since darvocet was pulled by the FDA, now the drs. are going to start prescribing ultracet/ultram/tramadol alot more.
Avatar n tn ultracet it highly addictive as well. The withdrawl is VERY bad .
Avatar n tn I had unbearable pain for only a year (not much compared to some of the posters on here (7+ years of back pain, how do you do it?)). Throughout my year of pain, my doctor prescribed me hydrocodone (from 5's to eventually 10's) and tramadol 50mg (which I took with tylenol 50/500 - making it basically generic ultracet). As surgery neared, I was taking 3 hydrocodone 10's and 2 "ultracet" twice a day - making 6 hydrocodone and 4 ultracet/day.
898832 tn?1243968023 narcotic like/stronger than tram in that respect with an actual AD mixed in..neurocet is tramdol...ultracet which tram mixed with tylenol but is not labeled here in the us as such but is an out of country brand..
Avatar n tn it is a synthetic pain med which effects the same receptors as narcotics do..it also has an anti-depressant quality as well which makes them a humdinger to withdraw from ..habit forming and not super powerful in the pain relief arena but very addictive for many people..there is no tylenol in ultram or tramadol/but ultracet has tylenol in it so liver problems if taking alot of them can be a concern....like cathy said..why do u ask?
Avatar f tn I know when my sciatic nerve is being irritated and can feel that pain down the entire backside of my leg. However, I am almost certain the aching pain that causes my whole leg to hurt is not caused by my sciatic nerve. On my last visit to the pain clinic, the doctor more or less suggested that I will have to live with this pain, it is coming from my back, and there's not much he can do for it. Then I suggested maybe I should have a CT scan of my hip or my pelvis.
Avatar n tn ve gone from all sorts of stomach meds to even Albuterol to now muscle relaxer and Ultracet. The relaxer and Ultracet help some, but the pain is ongoing now and when the drugs wear off; I hurt so bad and I am constantly dizzy and having like vertigo type symptoms, but it's not vertigo. At least once a day I feel as though someone is sticking their finger straight into the middle of my neck above colar bone like I'm choking.
Avatar n tn Can any one tell me what i can possibly take to reduce the back pain and leg pain im getting from a methadone detox, ive tried the common painkillers you can buy over the counter.
Avatar f tn This is a multi-modal drug, meaning that it not only supposedly diminishes pain but also acts as an antidepressant. Because of this, it is extremely diffiicult to stop taking and withdrawals are absolutely horrible. Stay away at all costs, if you can. I feel like I've lost the last year and a half of my life; me, the girl who embraced pain and joy for the sheer point of them being part of life.
Avatar f tn My husband just had his Gallbladder removed and he was addict for 13 years he's been clean for 7 the dr prescribed him Ultracet and he's scared to take it for the pain because of his addictive past. The Dr knew he was a addict and told him they are not addictive but reading online it says it is should he get the script filled or just take OTC meds? If OTC what should he take?
Avatar n tn Do Cluster Headaches on the Right side of the head affect the left leg? Also I have read that laying down makes Cluster Headaches worse, Standing, Sitting, and Laying do not help at all. Actually walking is next to impossible for him when he is in severe headache mode because his left leg hurts, and becomes weak. He describes the pain in his head as sharp and pulsating. Please let me know if these are all symptoms of a cluster headache.
Avatar n tn Correction: other non-opioid pain killer such as arcoxia.
1071153 tn?1255369215 Upon running out, I convinced my Doctor that Ultracet caused the pleurasy and have been given Loratab for low back pain ever since. That has been 2-3 months now. I am now taking 30-60mg a day. Mostly of the evening. It is my reward to myself. Starting noticing that I wanted to take them earlier in the day and looked forward to the next time I would get one. It consumes my thoughts. I have quit and flushed everything before. So I knew it was becoming a problem.
