was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).

I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.

whats ultracet? i know its a pain reliever with tylenol, but does it give you the energy and motivation of vike or percs? I ask because I had to change doctors, and while he wasnt too happy to write for the vicodins i have been on for years, he had no problem with ultracet and he gave me a script.....so im basically asking, do people get addicted to this drug? should i not even start it?

Hey Aaron... Ultracet is addictive. Many people have gotten hooked on it. Its Ultram/Ultracet/Tramadol I believe they are all related and whehter doctors say so or not, they are addictive and can be dangerous. :( sorry for the bad news. They are also derived from the opiate family. Be careful with them. Ive used them during in between times when I was using -- just to hold w/drawal at bay -- so that should tell you something right there..

i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?

My friend and I were talking the other day and she said, "Oh, my mom said a lady at her prayer group said that there was "a new darvocet out on the market now." Of course I am more than curious since my mom just had to stop darvocet herself. My friend then tells me this "new darvocet" is called Ultracet! Can you believe this? I knew this was coming since darvocet was pulled by the FDA, now the drs. are going to start prescribing ultracet/ultram/tramadol alot more.

habit forming and not super powerful in the pain relief arena but very addictive for many people..there is no tylenol in ultram or tramadol/but ultracet has tylenol in it so liver problems if taking alot of them can be a concern....like cathy said..why do u ask?

Hey any one awake yet....I have a question...the doc. now has put me on ultracet...it says 37.5 5/325....i had to take 2 yesterday over the cource of 12 hours...my questions is i'm reading that ppl are becoming addicted...i dont understand how....they dont make me feel high.....however the pain is better..not completely gone but better...so my ? is why are ppl getting addicted taking 10-15-20 a day if they dont get you high...can someone enlighten me.

If someone could give me some clues to addiction to this drug I would really appreciate it.

I have tried quiting several times and this has been the easiest, because I used ultracet. That stuff worked wonders for me. I only needed this for 4 days. I just thought I would share my experience if it can help somebody else...

Hey, I am on day 3 and things arn't as bad as I thought, (so far) but I am using ultracet which is a non narcotic that my roommate had left over from a doc's visit! I am also using immodium and it seems to be making it easier on my ***! No offence with the language, hopefully? Anyhow, hang in there, I am! Zakk.....uhhhhhh! when does it stop?

I just got back from the dr. and he gave me a script for ultracet....I dont know anything about this drug...He said it was in the same family as vicoden...which now has me worried ..I dont want to go from one addiction to another...Is this drug like vicoden? I am a music minister in an Evangelical Bible Church and have just had my second back surgery. My back feels great! I had unbearable pain for only a year (not much compared to some of the posters on here (7+ years of back pain, how do you do it?)). Throughout my year of pain, my doctor prescribed me hydrocodone (from 5's to eventually 10's) and tramadol 50mg (which I took with tylenol 50/500 - making it basically generic ultracet).

I am concerned someone I am very close with may be addicted to this drug. I have never been around drug use and am unsure if I am having reasons to be this concerned.

the first is a drug very similar to tramadol...narcotic like/stronger than tram in that respect with an actual AD mixed in..neurocet is tramdol...ultracet which tram mixed with tylenol but is not labeled here in the us as such but is an out of country brand..

Can you take ultram during pregnancy? I know it is a category C drug but I know people who take phenergan and that is a category C drug as well.

The meds that they have you on are really not for the control of anything more than minor pain. If more reparative surgery is not an option, it sounds like your condition has progressed to the point where you are going to need to go to an actual pain management doctor, to get meds that most general practitioners are not comfortable prescribing. Ultracet is not for severe pain even though it is listed as such. Not to mention that it is as addictive as any narcotic.

This drug amazes me. Are you down to that dose from higher amounts? Was it a step down script for you from a diff opiate? what are your symptoms? more info please!

How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.

The reason that Ultram can be bad with antidepressants (SSRIs) is that they both result in more serotonin being available in the brain. There is a condition which can develop where you get serotonin overload (called serotonin syndrome) and it can be very very serious. Methadone is a different kind of drug from ultracet, so i don't think there would be the same complication.

I am new to this group and want to know what are normal and abnormal symptoms of withdrawl from tramadol / ultracet. My history is this. I was having severe chronic pain. My doctors at first did not believe me but eventually it was discovered that I had Fibro Myalgia Rheumatic (FMR). Fine, then my rheumatologist gave me the ultracet max 8 a day. After a couple years he cut me loose to have my PCP do the honors as it were. My PCP nearly fainted when he saw how much I was allowed.

I agree with Toxic.....bad and dangerous drug. I think people were lulled into a false sense of security that it is not addictive. Many have learned the hard way, just how incorrect this is. Very hard to w/d from.

I have been self medicating myself for god knows how many years. I just recently was taking ultracet, percocet and vicodin for over a year. At very low doses but doing it everyday. Today is my second day off. It ***** of course I feel very down and that my only window to being happy is gone. Now I have been diagnosed with depression and it never really felt like that's what it was to me. In talking to my doc (who doesn't know about my addiction) She diagnosed me with ADD.
