Type o blood genetics

Common Questions and Answers about Type o blood genetics

Avatar m tn Is it possible for Father with blood type A+ Mother O+ and child B+ blood type??
Avatar n tn Hello cdc29, Just reading your question with regards to blood type. If the father is O pos and the the mother is A pos you can NOT produce an offspring that is B neg. Here is why, we will deal with the blood groups and leave out the Rh factor for simplicity (will explain that after).
Avatar f tn 9% probability of paternity/maternity (depending on the type of samples used).
Avatar f tn My blood type is also O+. I found out my blood type after I enlisted in the military plus I found my blood type on my birth certificate. I do suffer from depression and I do have anger issues but I am managing both with therapy. I know when I don't eat, I do get very cranky. I've never had a manic episode but there are times when I was darn near close. I had to remove myself from particular situations or else it may have landed me in jail. Simply because I skipped lunch.
5889951 tn?1380319647 I was discussing with my sons father who is o negative blood type and I am o negative blood type would my son be o negative as well? If anyone has any info they could share with me I would be very appreciative.
Avatar n tn I looked back through the labwork for my first m/c (from a different lab) and it said I was A+. I asked the new lab to redo it with new blood, and they again came back O+. I called the first lab and they have no idea how it could have happened. Has anyone ever had an experience like this?
Avatar n tn Obviously you both have a dominant O blood type but you might also have a recessive A blood type. This would explain how the child got the A blood type. One recessive A from mom and one recessive from dad. The positive and negative factor (RH factor) is a protein marker and is not connected with the blood type. Most likely the baby got recessive A's from both of you then a negative from the person who had the negative RH factor.

Avatar f tn No and yes. Type O blood type is caused by the recessive gene of O,O alleles. That means that the only allele a person with type O blood can pass down is O. Someone with B type blood must have the genotype B,O-so one that person's parents must have to have a B blood type or an A,B blood type in order to pass that down. HOWEVER there is a VERY rare condition that I studied while I was taking genetics. I just can't remember what it's called.
Avatar n tn I am A- blood and my husband is A+ blood, is it possible to have a child with O+ blood?
Avatar f tn Dear Jerrie61, When both Parents have O blood type, the ONLY blood type the child can have is O. When a child has A blood type, and the Mother has O, the Father must have either: A or AB. Here is a Blood type Calculator for your reference (as blood typology is used in courts in Canada to determine Paternity in some cases where Family Law is argued such as Custody, Divorce and Family Support Payments and where paternity is an issue.
Avatar f tn My spinal tap showed 5 bands. I have had lots of blood work and swallow test (showed a small hernia), I have had an endoctomy, with biopsies that were fine. My doctor is convinced I don't had MS or Lyme - but is doing an MRI on my neck. Why would he think no - everything I am reading - leans toward MS. Thoughts?
Avatar m tn In a situation when both parents are AB blood type, children of every blood type are possible EXCEPT type O. Because each parent contributes 1/2 of the child's genetics, the possibilities are such that: If father gives A gene and mother gives A gene, baby will be AA. (Type A) If father gives A gene and mother gives B gene, baby will be AB. (Type AB) If father gives B gene and mother gives A gene, baby will be AB. (Type AB) If father gives B gene and mother gives B gene, baby will be BB.
Avatar n tn I'm a 20 y/o active male. I've recently (within the last 4 years) developed somewhat odd symptoms. Randomly, when doing any kind of exercise after just a few seconds I lose my vision and hearing, then faint soon after with chest pain and breathing difficulty. When I regain consciousness I vomit for upto 20 minutes after. Usually, after 30-60 minutes of rest, I feel fine again and everything is back to normal.
Avatar f tn I posted awhile back because i already used one of those prenatal paternity centers. Paid them $1300 (not money i had - on a credit card) and then found out they were a scam. They won't even answer my calls now. I believe i can get them to cover the blood typing for the baby since i am RH-, but the insurance won't cover any paternity testing costs, which i believe could run another $1000=$1300. I know blood typing won't always work.
Avatar f tn I dont have any info on my liver yet.

Avatar n tn They have no complications. So who knows if it is genetics? It certainly can't hurt keeping your blood sugars under control though.

Avatar n tn On one occasion I asked Dr. DeAdamo (Eat right for your blood type) and was told to take bioflavonoids for it. I am beginning to take the supplement now, since the vessel popping has become too annoying to ignore.
886824 tn?1253740254 Factor V Leiden is the name of a specific mutation that results in thrombophilia, or an increased tendency to form abnormal blood clots in blood vessels. People who have the Factor V Leiden mutation are at somewhat higher than average risk for a type of clot that forms in veins, such as the deep veins of the legs (deep venous thrombosis), or a clot that travels through the bloodstream and lodges in the lungs (pulmonary embolism).
Avatar n tn For the past several years I have noticed that after eating food (which ranges from just a cup of milk to a full meal) that my heart rate and blood pressure increases significantly about 30 minutes after eating, and it lasts for about one and 1/2 hours to two hours. This occurs about 50% of the time after eating. My heart rate goes from ~75 bpm up to 140 bmp (max todate), and the blood pressure goes from 130/80 up to 180/102 (max to date).
Avatar n tn Simple question here, has anyone ever had a negative blood test and negative urine test and went on with their daily routine and a month or so later found out you were in fact pregnant while having ultrasound done. If this has happened to anyone or perhaps someone you know, please respond, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.
1342206 tn?1276146157 my dad is type O+ and my mother is type A2b+ i don't have clue to what my blood type might be and last time i went to the doctor i forgot to ask them what my blood type was?
Avatar n tn Two negative parents cannot have a positive child, though. Two type O parents cannot have a type A child. This explains it very well: http://www.biology.arizona.edu/human_bio/problem_sets/blood_types/markers.
Avatar n tn What are you asking? Something to do with genetics and children you might have? That question aside, people with blood type O should not eat gluten anyway. I get this information from "Eat Right For Your Type" The author is Dr. Peter J D'Adamo. You can Google this title to find his website. To simplify cooking in the kitchen, just cook strictly gluten free.
9974613 tn?1407017869 If the father has a positive blood type and the mother has a negative blood type then the mother needs what's called a rhogam (or Rh) injection in order to keep her body from thinking the baby is a foreign object (like an infection or a tumor) and trying to kill it.
166219 tn?1267490838 sheila, I have an ob appt on thurs, i go back to the u/s and genetics counseling place on 24 Sept (just for blood work) and I have another appointment with them on 4 Oct. I think the 4 Oct one is the BIG u/s appt where they check all the anatomy. YAY can't wait. So what did you get? Did you go with a straight crib or go for the convertible type that convert into 3 or 4 different beds that are supposed to last the kid all the way through college or something like that?
