Avatar f tn Hello. I have Type 2 Diabetes (est. 2/2008), Sleep Apnea and High Blood Pressure. I used to get yeast infections maybe once a year, however I started a new job this past August ('09) where I'm extremely active with children and usually am in very hot environments causing me to sweat like I'm forever stuck in a sauna. I used to get home from work where I was literally drenched in sweat from my underwear/bra to my hair. Then the yeast infections started. I sought help from my gynocologist.
Avatar n tn Eating yogurt is said to help reduce this, but the main thing that women are never told is that men can be carriers and yes you can get a yeast infection in the mouth. Chronic yeast infections warrant your partner to be checked. There is medication that can be given to them as well.
Avatar f tn As soon as I began iron supplements and my levels increased the yeast infections went away. I haven't had one in appx 9 months. Yea! The yeast in my body was so bad I had yeast in my mouth. I didn't not know this could/is an indicator of anemia. terry PS Prior to that I was doing like you, diflucan, probiotics, anything I thought might help.
Avatar n tn I have also been a suffer of recurrent yeast infections. I just found out i have ovarian cysts, on both sides, one side having quite a large cyst. It worked very well for me. I found a website about natural remedies for yeast infections. There is a list of different remedies you can have..

Avatar n tn I have been struggling with the exact same symptoms. I have been getting yeast infections none stop for 9 months. I also get the funny feeling in my forhead(tingling tight feeling) the thrush symptoms come and go in my mouth, dizzy spells and headaches and anxiety attacks when I have a yeast infection. My doctor has test for everything STD wise and I have come back clear. My test for yeast came back as heavy yeast.
Avatar f tn Since age 18, I have had yeast infections regularly. 35 years later, I'm still having them, although for the 15 years they have been completely atypical. There is no visible discharge, no itching or burning. Just a piercing, searing pain both anal and vaginal. I know it's yeast because after the first miserable episode, my former ob/gyn cultured a swab and it was yeast.

Avatar n tn I would think that instead you are either 1. not having a yeast infection at all, or 2. have a type of yeast infection that might be resistant to treatment. I'd see your doctor.

Avatar f tn I used 2 get yeast infections in past but only 1-2 in a year. but this time it is chronic. I have to pee every 1 hour and the next day my vulva becomes red and i get the curdy discharge (all this seems to start right after periods and seems to last the entire mnth till next period ) I have had positive c albicans yeast cultures. I have tried yogurt, garlic, everything!!! please please tell me whats going on wiith my body?
Avatar n tn it's in your digestive system and for females, our reproductive organs are directly linked to our digestive system(which is why you're getting chronic yeast infections). basically, all processed foods have yeast(to fill you up), fast food has yeast, plus the normal yeast products like bread...check the labels and you'll see. the previous post that mentioned acidophilus was correct, but don't try garlic pills, just eat more garlic.
Avatar n tn When I was working in the hospital in diabetes education in my town we did have a boy who was over-weight and was diagnosed with childhood onset type 2 diabetes and he had gained some weight because his body was producing so much insulin to compensate for his bigger body size that it caused him to gain weight. I would talk to my doctor as soon as possible. It is better to be safe than sorry in your situation.
Avatar n tn It was also brought to my attention that if diabetes runs in the family, yeast infections are a symptom of having diabetes. Also, because your body is always adjusting, (for those of you that don't use condoms) I was told that I could be allergic to semen. Now, I have never let my boyfriend "finish" inside me, so I didn't think that was the case. But when I started using condoms again, the yeast infections seemed to slow down. As for the symptoms, i feel for all of you.
Avatar n tn I did not know what it was and did not get treated for it. Shortly after it started, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Once I went on medication (Metformin, oral med) the recurring yeast infections WERE GONE! So, my high sugar levels were effecting my vagina, in a bad way. Now, 6 years later, I am not taking my metformin consistently and the yeast infections are back in full force. Some of you may want to get a diabetes test, something you should get annually anyway.
Avatar n tn Birth control is another cause for recurrent yeast infections. Also, chronic antibiotic therapy can also be a risk factor for recurrent yeast infections. Sometimes combining the prescription therapy with the over the counter topical cream will clear up the infection. I really feel for you. Two months of a yeast infection was enough to drive me crazy. I can't imagine having one for six months. I really hope it clears up soon.
Avatar n tn Did anyone know that it is common for people with diabetes to have reaccurring yeast infections. Did anyone know that people with HIV have reaccurring yeast infections. Did anyone know eating lots of pickles & pretzels can make a yeast infection worse, because they are high in yeast content themselves and breed bacteria found in reaccuring yeast infections. Did anyone know that taking antibiotics for any kind of infection will sometimes give u a yeast infection.
Avatar f tn Since she was 8 months old her she has been getting progressive dry skin patches (eczema on feet, knees and elbows) Along with recurrent yeast infections that will only disappear with medication and reappear when cream is stopped. Her bowel movements have always been of a mash potato consistency, that is normal for an infant should this still be happening at almost 2 years old? I just thought it was an indication she was getting a good amount of fiber.
Avatar n tn I know that sounds like an old wives tale but i would literallty get one instantly if he drank beer and gave me oral without brushing his teeth and rinsing with mouth wash,,,, anyways i am now with a new partner for the past 3 months and we recently started having unprotected sex and I have had 2 yeast infections... hopefully the nuvaring will help me out here. I used an over the counter medicine the first time and now am on a prescription terconazole i think it's called.
Avatar n tn Around the middle of Feb. I began to have vaginal irritation & i thought it was going to be another yeast infection(i have at least 3-4 a year). However this was different. It started out with itching & then what felt like small tears & cracks around the vaginal area(mainly labia majora) and i also felt the cracks in my anal area...bowel movements have since been painful and bleeding occurs.
Avatar n tn Hi, Not to get too graphic, but I have a concern about recurrent yeast infections. I have experienced 4 in the past 5 months and am becoming really concerned because when I type "recurrent yeast infections" in the search engine, HIV comes up all over the place. Monistat clears it up but they seem to be coming almost immediately after sex. well, not immediately, but very soon after.
Avatar f tn I went to a general practitioner because I was frequently peeing for a couple of months and then began to have an icky feeling down there. She diagnosed me with a yeast infection (no culture taken) and did not mention seeing any type of HSV-2 outbreak. My urine was negative for a UTI. I went back to her the following week because I was still experiencing frequent urination and after looking at my vagina/uterus she said it still seemed like I had the yeast infection.
Avatar n tn My girlfriend confronted me with a pap smear result stating she tested positive for Trichomonas. She'd originally thought she had a bad yeast infection. I have type 2 diabetes and have had problems with yeast infections related to high blood sugar. Is it possible that the Trich result and my yeast infection could be related? A year ago in the beginning of our relationship we had a similar problem which we were both given a z-pack even though I tested positive for nothing.
Avatar m tn Sweden's new dietary guidelines is LCHF to combat the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemic. Diet Doctor One Year on an LCHF Diet with Type 1 Diabetes...
