Avatar n tn In place of the carbohydrates, I replaced them with proteins, and fats. Eggs, nuts and nuts and nuts, meats, cheeses. It's hard to believe that you can eat bacon, eggs, with melted cheese, and the weight keeps falling off. The key in the beginning is you cannot cheat! If you cheat, the fats and proteins you're eating are stored as fat as you body goes after the readily available sugars in the the carbohydrates.
Avatar m tn Now, that's pretty hard to do, but with a little effort, you can minimize them. What I avoid primarily is anything "white". I don't eat pasta, or flour products with the exception of 2 slices of low carb bread (14G total) daily, rice, potatoes, or anything with added sugar is out.

798555 tn?1292791151 Prediabetes is usually seen as a precursor to type 2 type diabetes, which is not the autoimmune type. Type 2 diabetes, was known as adult onset type, has a strong genetic component and is often associated with insulin resistance. This forces the pancreas to work harder and eventually it can't produce enough insulin. Type 1 is autoimmune type. This happens when the insulin producing cells of the pancreas are attacked by antibodies which destroy them.
Avatar n tn higher and higher(I have never been diagnosed with any type of diabetes).I have a meter that I have compared with lab test readings and it is within about 5 %. When I start eating more carbs my fasting blood sugar will be from 100 to 140.Also I have a lot of other problems with increased carb intake such as I get very very very hungry all of the time,I get very thirst, frequent urination just to name a few. Avatar n tn It's bad enough that they are already at a higher risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes. Legume allergies are even more severe than other anaphalactic reactions and result in death often. One of the problems with this particular allergy is that many foods are made with and cooked in peanut oil which can produce the same results. Sometimes even asking at a restaurant doesn't yield the answers necessary to save your life. So be hyper-vigilant about knowing what you are eating.
Avatar n tn I have solely concentrated on my career and going back to school. During that time two things have happened; 1) I developed type II diabetes, and 2) I have made a regular habit of masturbating to porn at least once everyday. In terms of having real sex, I have not done so in many years, so I have no frame of reference when it comes to how my penis will respond with a real girl.
Avatar n tn Jen, Hypoglycemia is not the same as diabetes, but they both have to do with insulin and blood sugar. Type 1 diabetes is different from Type 2, too. As I understand hypoglycemia, it is the condition where a person produces TOO MUCH insulin in response to glucose. Type 1 diabetes is often called Juvenile Diabetes because most folks with it are diagnosed before adulthood.

Avatar n tn I have even seen my blood sugar drop after a meal (2 hours after oatmeal with nuts and raisins no sugar).. which is a familiar situation for me as a lifelong hypoglycemic. Do you all think that I really am diabetic since my test showed that...? Are my readings normal for a type 2 diabetic?
Avatar n tn Sometimes it goes away but if your family has a history of diabetes then you may end up as a type 2. You won't have to take insulin or meds as long as you watch your sugars and keep your weight down though. It's worse if you're heavy. I've always been on the extreme side of hypoglycemia and it's very hard for me to keep my sugars up as an acceptable level but already my sugar has spiking and dropping.

Avatar m tn Hey Jim! It actually advisable for type 2's to go low, low carb. I avoid medication by living a Paleo dietary lifestyle. I did so because my blood glucose had crept into T2 territory after years of dancing with the devil, "high fructose corn syrup". That and the near constant M&M drip line that sat on my office desk all day. The first couple of weeks are literal pain. There is definitely a carb withdrawal period.
