Tussionex to get high

Common Questions and Answers about Tussionex to get high

tussionex

Avatar n tn How long have you been taking it? Your body probably has become dependent on it and that is why you are having the withdrawal symptoms. It doesn't take all that long for our bodies to get use to something. Are you thinking about putting it down for good?
Avatar m tn Each teaspoonful (5 mL) of TUSSIONEX (hydrocodone and chlorpheniramine) Pennkinetic Extended-Release Suspension contains hydrocodone polistirex equivalent to 10 mg of hydrocodone bitartrate and chlorpheniramine polistirex equivalent to 8 mg of chlorpheniramine maleate. TUSSIONEX (hydrocodone and chlorpheniramine) Pennkinetic Extended- Release Suspension provides up to 12-hour relief per dose. Hydrocodone is a centrally-acting narcotic antitussive. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine.
286124 tn?1214938528 Tussionex is the highest concentration of hydrocodone. I 5 ml. teasponn contains the same amount of dope as 2 vicodins. All dope makes you constipated and now they are coming out with a new drug to help people who are on long term opiates.
Avatar n tn thanks for your informatic reply!
Avatar f tn I am hopefully going to start treatment AGAIN for tussionex withdrawal and treatment. Pray for me. Any suggestions or any other people out there like me? I am so alone.
636562 tn?1223667445 I recently had a bad reaction to Tussionex Suspension and had to go to the ER. I agree with the doctor that I had a reaction to the Tussionex, but I'm wondering why it affected me so long after I initially took it (I didn't have any symptoms for the first 7-8 hours). I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but I thought a pharmacist would be the best one to answer my question. How do extended release medications work?
Avatar n tn It may need to be used every day for several weeks to months to notice improvement in the symptoms. To get the most help from any nasal spray first do a nasal wash to remove mucus from the nose and sinuses. To learn more about this technique please read our nasal wash treatment information by copying and pasting this address http://www.nationaljewish.org/disease-info/treatments/alt-ther/nasal-wash.aspx into the address window of your internet browser.
Avatar n tn I have a bottle of Tussionex since the last time i was pretty sick. It was filled may 15 2008 and Im not sure what the expiration date is on it. would it be fine to take?
Avatar f tn Your body is known to hypersensitive to quinolones to which levaquin belongs to. Tussionex contains hydrocodone which may also be responsible. But it is difficult to tell, which one is the offending drug. The spectrum of these reactions can vary widely; reactions may present as typical allergic symptoms (eg, itching, urticaria, rash, edema) after a single dose, or may manifest as breathlessness due to bronchospasm.
1003776 tn?1360197582 t want to educate addicts on better ways to get high just to say that it is a more serious addiction that can go beyond the usual hydro/ tylenol thing you see here. Still, I don't think methadone or sub would be a good idea. Methadone or sub maintenece should be reserved for the most desperate cases of multiple treatment failures and for people who can break the law to get their fix, at least that's was methadone was originaly designed for.
Avatar f tn You had a life before them and you will have a life after them. But doing drugs to numb the pain is not the answer. you need to talk to someone about how youre feeling. Trust me this is not the way to do it.
Avatar n tn Tussionox does not have penicillin in it. It is a suppressant cough med and is hard to get because it has hydrocodone in it. People the drug addicts abuse it, many used to shoot it up. But for the ones that need it, it is a safe reliable cough med and i recommend it. Before you ask for it be sure you are coughing alot with chest congestion.
Avatar f tn My addiction started around 1 1/2 to 2 years ago when I had a chronic cough and was given Tussionex - wow how I loved that stuff. It totally stopped my coughing and made you feel great. I took that stuff for heck months...until I was diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back - well as luck would have it I was prescribed Vicodin with has the same crap in it as the cough medicine Tussionex had. Well long story short I have finally come to my senses and gave it all up. I can do it...
Avatar n tn For OTC cough syrup, I use Delsym (Dextromethorphan polistirex) or Mucinex (Guaifenesin). I've never had a problem with either, and I'd consider myself fairly sensitive to cold medications. When I need the big guns, I get my PCP to prescribe Tussionex (chlorpheniramine and hydrocodone) aka. "Liquid Gold". I love this stuff. It's expensive, hence the name. But you WILL stop coughing, and you WILL sleep!
Avatar n tn Are you trying to get off of all these medications for good? It sounds like [in your second post here] you're trying to find a way to ask for another type of codeine cough syrup.
Avatar m tn This leads to exaggerated effects or feeling of euphora and other symptoms. It may be harder for these people to get off the cough syrup because they are sort of absorb it more so to speak. There are genetic tests to see if you have this enzyme. But they are not covered by insurance and can be expensive. So, any medication that has opioids and drugs that are addictive you should use with caution. A lot of people get easily addicted to codeine in cough syrup as well and this drug is similar.
Avatar n tn I was also given a three day regiment of azithromicin (zythromax) and Tussionex to control the cough. I was also given a DuoNeb. None of which seemed to work. After checking in with my primary care, i was given a flovent inhaler, to no avail. Following that, i was put on 80mg of prednisone, down to 60, then weaned off.
Avatar f tn Dont end up liek soo many ppl I know and hear about every day, I would love to help you get a taper plan to get off of the vicodin. It ahsnt been to long and the wds will pass within a week, you jsut have to set up a tapering schedule that fits your needs and your bodies reaction/wds. It is definitely doable and I would be more than happy to work with you and come up with a schedule or anything else you amy need.
1071153 tn?1255369215 before long there will be more good days than bad days...it does take a while to get back to normal for most...ur dose was not huge but u were on them for a long time..even a headache can be missed if u have had it long enuf!..this is a habit u were in for a long time..like smoking..it is hard to let ift go and not think about it in a short amount of time..changing behavior is not easy and takes work..seems like u r doing the work u need to do...
Avatar f tn I did this over a course of 1 month (started in January and got caught yesterday) I had a total of 6 rx (2 I tried to get filled in a matter of one week) the reason I tried to do 2 in one week is bc my dr wrote me a script on Tuesday (this dr had already written me a script two weeks prior). I went to the pharmacy to try to get it filled. They said my insurance wouldn't cover it until next Friday so they wouldn't fill it.
Avatar f tn my husband does the same thing...just used to happen if he was drinking alcohol, after 3-4 beers. The other day he had not been drinking at all, sitting there watching tv and felt like he needed to cough, but as soon as he inhaled to cough, his breath cut short....face turned red, scrunched face, like he was trying to force out a cough with a closed mouth, started shaking and leaning over, about to pass out. I started screaming his name, he does not respond, all of a sudden....
Avatar n tn If you prove not to have asthma, aren’t smoking and didn’t have whooping cough, you should contact your doctor and request a prescription for a strong cough suppressant You could try an over-the-counter cough suppressant with “DM” and if that doesn’t provide relief of the cough, then call or visit your doctor to make sure that nothing more serious is causing your cough (you may need a chest X-ray to do that) and get a stronger cough preparation such as Tussionex.
Avatar f tn hello, i have always been allergic to acetaminophen( swelling with rashes all over body)..recently was diagnosed with ITP( thrombocytopenia)adviced to stop all NSAID's forever.ineed a D&C with hysteroscopy( for a possible polyp) with twilight anesthesia..yet to be scheduled..my gyn not called yet..what options do i have? i'm scared they would put me thru local anesthesia now b'coz of all this..my pain tolerance is almost zero..
Avatar f tn If you are high risk and you have had two shows of high protein in your urine then they would consider inducing you I would think.. High protein is a symptom of pre - eclempsia, are they monitoring you? Here in Australia they only offer to induce you if there is a valid medical reason, or if you are at least 10days overdue.
Avatar f tn Oh gosh! It sounds like you guys are super on top of things. Keep up the good work! Asthma can be quite the saboteur. And your poor guy -- middle school is exciting enough without all this going on! It might be time to break out the cough meds; I'm guessing he's had Tessalon Perles, in my experience they work great for quelling a more severe cough.
Avatar m tn Idk whats worst knowing your craving a high, or craving a high knowing you have a lot of things you need to get done.
Avatar m tn THEY EVENTUALLY TRANSPORTED ME TO THE STATE HOSPITAL FOR STABLIZATION. THE OTHER 5 TIMES I USED THE MEDS TO GET HIGH LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO. I WAS AT THE AGE OF 45 YEARS OLD. I USED DRUGS THAT I USED TO BE ON ALONG WITH MEDS I WAS CURRENTLY ON. MY BLOOD WAS CHECKED EACH TIME. I DON'T USE PCP BUT 2 OF THESE 5 HAD ME REGISTERED PCP IN MY BLOODWORK. CAN I GET A POSITIVE PCP READING FROM COMBINATIONS OF ALL THE DRUGS I TOOK? I'VE BEEN CLEAN SINCE THEN.
