I have been taking Truvada since 2008, 5 months ago I did the pregnancy test, the result was positive.
I am worry about side effects to my baby if I continue to take Truvada during my pregnant...
Does anyone have same experience, please tell me more, thx.
Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. I rushed to the A&E and asked the doctor's advice on what to do. Since I waited for more than 3 hours before I was able to see the doctor, I was already drowsy when the doctor talked to me.
So the next day i went to a local clinic and they echoed that Truvada was enough. However, i pressed them to also give me isentress as well and they complied. Is truvada alone ok?
If my paretner was indeed positive and not on treatment, what are my chances of being negative? I took the Truvada 16 hours post exposure and the isentress at 34 post exposure. I take the truvada at 530pm every day and the isentress at 830 am and pm. Is it ok that im not taking them at the same time?
How can I change from taking Truvada in the noon to taking Truvada at midnight? For instance, should I do two doses of Truvada in one 24 hour period or should I do no doses in one 24 hour period to get it right?
3. When the doctors prescribed the medication I ended up taking 4x the recommended dose of Aluvia. This was due to me having received four cans of Aluvia,not realizing that each can was meant to last 1 week.
m living in another country, it was so hard to get the Pep medication. After several hours going from a hospital to another, I finally could get a Truvada pill in the very deadline limit of the treatment, probably between the 72nd and 74th hour after the sex.
I was quite desperate and I felt that the staff in this hospital wasn't too much prepared to take cases like mine with HIV risk envolved. It took too many hours, even though I tried to explain them the gravity about this situation.
I am not aware of those findings but any medication taken over long periods causes organ damage.
The doctor who prescribed PrEP for you should have gone over ANY and ALL possible restrictions and/or contraindications for taking this medication. Before you begin taking this drug, I would strongly advise you to have a further and more in depth discussion with your doctor regarding your concerns.
I do not personally know the answer to your question..........perhaps someone else on this forum is better educated about PrEP than I am and for your sake, I hope there is.
I was diagnosed with chronic HBV back in Dec 2014. I was given Truvada (Prep) for treatment. I have taken it daily for 4.5 years and my viral load down has remained dormant and the HBV undetectable. Recently, I moved to a new city and my new job does not offer insurance. I cannot afford the medication without insurance as it is very expensive. Is there a chance my body could have rid itself of HBV during these 4.5 years?
I rinsed my penis and swabbed with alcohol after. I also commenced Truvada that evening ( approx 4 hrs post exposure) . Is this adequate . I have now been on it for a week . I was considering commencing kaletra as well . Is my risk high ? would you recommend anything else?

The doctors who provided you with your initial PEP provided you with more medication than is typically recommended for PEP and the Truvada (which is a combination of two anti-HIV medications) is one of the regimens most widely recommended for PEP.
Please note that the ER doctors probably don't do this all the time and from a prevention perspective it is better to initially over treat than under treat. That said, from here on out, I would just take the Truvada.

After 50 hrs sought for PEP and was given Truvada alone but asked the doc why Truvada, he said I had a low risk and am circumsiced, I then let it pass. I took my medication religiously until I finished it 2 days ago. I am starting experiencing ars symptoms like a sore throat, muscle aches, pain in my neck, armpits and groin but no swollen node but pain where they are located. I am really stressed up with this situation.
I'll start 1st by saying I'm a gay male who sought out Truvada as PrEp as a way to further eliminating my risk of HIV. Late October 2015 I sought out an infectious disease Dr who was knowledgeable of Truvada as Prep. Prior to him giving a prescription I was required to have a full blood panel along with a HIV test also screened for Hepatitis. This is when I discovered I was Infected with Chronic HBV. I had elevated alt & ast as well as a viral load in the millions.
I then went to my family doctor and she was going to prescribe truvada plus tiviacy but she changed her mind and said the tiviacy is too toxic.
So she put my on truvada alone will this even reduce my risk?
I cant find anything online if it is effective or not.
t taking any chances so continuted to take the truvada in the hope it will do something - I believe that truvada only was the original PEP can anybody verify that for me? At around three weeks I got pain all down the sides of my neck for a couple of days. I went for a run at the gym and it disappeared.
I have several questions about this that health professionals have been unable to give me a good answer to.
Was this neck pain a symptom of HIV infection?
Hello all! This is my first post. I am currently in Bangkok for work and I went out last night, had too many drinks and ended up sleeping with a hooker. I have been so distraught over this. I barely eat today and I have yet to sleep.
I did use a condom but there was a period of time before I put the condom on where the woman was grinding on my penis. I was very much intoxicated so I can't honestly say for sure if my penis penetrated her without the condom.
