Common Questions and Answers about Trileptal withdrawal symptoms
trileptal
Anyone had any withdrawal side effects relating to Trileptal? Any suggestions in dealing with it? Anyone who has dealt with the same thing? My symptoms are that I am having horrible anxiety, insomnia and irritability since reducing my dosage of Trileptal this week.
Backstory: I am switching from Trileptal to Lamictal over a long period of time.
I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist? Is it possible that this face numbness/tingling sensations are symptoms of MS? FYI I am a 33 yr old female.
This caused a severe withdrawal reaction and I ended in the hospital! I then went back up to 300 for a few months to stabilize.
Now, under doc supervision, we are going much slower. I got the gaba in liquid form from my pharmacy. 5 ml equals 250 mgs.
I have been able to decrease 10 mgs every 2 weeks down to 200 symptom free! I just started to get symptoms with my last dose drop. I had severe anxiety. I realized it was withdrawal.
I am supposed to start trileptal this morning but worried about the side effects particularly dizzines. Has anyone had these symptoms? what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?
You shouldn't take yourself off of them, you may experience withdrawal symptoms. Only go by your doctor's directed usage. Sometimes it's not uncommon for a person to take years to find the right medication combination for bipolar disorder so don't give up and try to remember that you just need to be patient if you get discouraged because it's not working.
s complex. There are always short term withdrawalsymptoms when a person discontinues medications but if they last that long then it is of concern but they'd have to find out exactly what is going on. However I would think those standard diagnostic tests should rule out any standard concerns but there might be others. Best to arrange for a consultation with a neurologist who is a specialist as they might need specific expertise to find out what might be some of the causes of this.
Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!
The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now. Can anyone tell me at what dose of trileptal you got some relief from the constant crawling, burning, crushing type pains? Also does the side effect of nausea and just feeling crappy all over from trileptal eventually subside. I also have MS. Thank you.
Going off ante depressants and psychiatric medications can cause withdrawalsymptoms but not so localized ones. There has be a problem due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. Please consult a neurologist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
i also get angrily easily and irritated
am so tired to search it on line or read anything ,could anyone please tell me what are the withdrawal signs of lithium and how long will it takes,,,,,,,,,,,as it gonna take me 2 month to it off and for all.
I have been dealing with 3 months of symptoms after a high fever/virus hit me-pressure feeling headaches behind th eyes/on the temple, very fatigued, and 2 episodes of blacking out. The black out episodes had my hand shaking for a few seconds uncontrollably. This doesn't sound like a sinus to me. I am having my follow up visit with the neuro in 4 days. I was given anti biotics as soon as they gave me the diagnosis.

Student takes Geodan, Trileptal, Resperdal, Prevacid, and Concerta. He is 19 years old. Could this be anxiety related. I surfed the web and could not find any information.
I withdrew of off the trileptal first and the geodon second. As i started withdrawing off of the trileptal i started to feel numb in my head. It is now about nine months later and the same annoying feeling is still there. My question is if withdrawing from the medication in the way i did was the cause of this numbness. I was on this medication for about six months prior to that with no numbness or bad side effects, just the inability so sit still and focus.
I stopped the painkillers, Tramadol, without any major withdrawalsymptoms but now that I am not taking any pain medication the pain level has increased. I should also mention that I have tried Lyrica,Neurontin and Trileptal previously with no success for pain relief.
I was started on trileptal for different reasons. I was dx with seizures but really couldn't tolerate triliptal due to nausea and extreme dizzyness. I just started Keppra and seem to be doing much better. I know this isn't much help but thought I would chime in in case you experience any of the same symptoms. Wishing you lots of luck.
