trileptal symptoms

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

I am supposed to start trileptal this morning but worried about the side effects particularly dizzines. Has anyone had these symptoms? what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?

I was on Trileptal for a while. After that my psychiatrist transferred me to Lamictal. It took some time to have the withdrawal symptoms to pass (and the efficacy of the other medication to start) but it settled after some time. Generally things begin to improve within a few weeks. As long as you followed your psychiatrist's titration schedule it should be fine. Keep your psychiatrist updated on how you are doing and they will know how to follow up.

If so, what are your side effects like? Does it do a good job with managing symptoms? Any other reason why you love it or hate it?

It could potentially be withdrawal symptoms but those symptoms are of concern. Speak to your doctor about them so they can let you know what to do.

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now. Can anyone tell me at what dose of trileptal you got some relief from the constant crawling, burning, crushing type pains? Also does the side effect of nausea and just feeling crappy all over from trileptal eventually subside. I also have MS. Thank you.

I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist? Is it possible that this face numbness/tingling sensations are symptoms of MS? FYI I am a 33 yr old female.

I have been dealing with 3 months of symptoms after a high fever/virus hit me-pressure feeling headaches behind th eyes/on the temple, very fatigued, and 2 episodes of blacking out. The black out episodes had my hand shaking for a few seconds uncontrollably. This doesn't sound like a sinus to me. I am having my follow up visit with the neuro in 4 days. I was given anti biotics as soon as they gave me the diagnosis.

I am on medication. I am taking Trileptal and I am eating 3 each day and 3 each night.

Student takes Geodan, Trileptal, Resperdal, Prevacid, and Concerta. He is 19 years old. Could this be anxiety related. I surfed the web and could not find any information.

I withdrew of off the trileptal first and the geodon second. As i started withdrawing off of the trileptal i started to feel numb in my head. It is now about nine months later and the same annoying feeling is still there. My question is if withdrawing from the medication in the way i did was the cause of this numbness. I was on this medication for about six months prior to that with no numbness or bad side effects, just the inability so sit still and focus.

DOES ANY ONE TAKE TRILEPTAL FOR BIPOLAR ??? IF SO HOW MUCH AND FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING IT??

I was started on trileptal for different reasons. I was dx with seizures but really couldn't tolerate triliptal due to nausea and extreme dizzyness. I just started Keppra and seem to be doing much better. I know this isn't much help but thought I would chime in in case you experience any of the same symptoms. Wishing you lots of luck.

I hope it is okay I have posted often lately, but I really need some help tonight. I am in SEVERE pain, has been getting worse all weekend, it is almost unbearable tonight. It is the right side of my face, has been around 2 weeks this time. Usually it goes away in about 2-3 days, but not this time. I think it is trigeminal neuralgia, have had it off and on for many years, but it has taken a huge change for the worse lately. I thought it was improving, but I was wrong.

My wife has been taking Tegretol 200mg X 3 tines a day, this has caused her to be disorientated and nauseous & still in pain, she is trying Trileptal 300mg X 3, whilst cutting out the Tegretol. My question is how much Trileptal can she take ??????

I've been taking these two for 2 months. 1800 mg trileptal 10 mg abilify. i'm doing a lot better (rages getting under control, manic moods lowered) but i'm still so depressed. my irritability is still off the charts. do you think adding another med will be the most likely next step or will my doc just keep raising my dosages?

I was dignosed with MS in 2003 after 20 years of off and on symptoms. The last year I have experienced off and on stabbing hot pain down the right side of my head and neck that last for 3 seconds to a minute and comes on at any time of the day or night. It doesn't seem to be associated with head movement or jaw activity. The Doctor says it sounds like Trigeninal Neuralgia but it doesn't seem to follow the same pattern of pain that Trigeninal Neuralgia produces.

I think Geodon is for BP patients who have equal mania and depression or more on the manic side (as opposed to Lamictal which is used for greater depressive BP). Trileptal is very similar to Tegretol - in fact, I think they are the same molecule but varied somewhat. I've read a statement from a Psychiatrist that Tegretol is always more successful for them than Trileptal is. Go to Bipolarworld - the Dr. in charge of that wrote a abstract of his experience using Tegretol vs Trileptal for BP.

I'm wondering if anyone else has numb fingertips as a side effect from Trileptal...I am currently taking 600 mg. I'm also being worked up for MS, so I don't know if this is from the drug I take for TN or from some other cause?? Thanks.
