trileptal headache

yes, it is Trileptal. Side effects I have had recently are neutremia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headache....seeing my psych doc next week. I am very disappointed that she did not catch this. I will slowly reducing my dose (I'm at 1800 mg now) in order to go off this drug, AND, I will never go back to this psych doc again.

try depakote. it worked on my same symptoms as topamax...

Lots going on with me, but main issue is. I feel very sick. Body sore,headache, shaking, ringing in my ears. I am also experienceing vibrations in my body. Cant focuse. I have been compleatly off this trileptal for 4 days, started weening about 2 months ago. have you ever heard of such a thing like this? and how much longer will it take to get better?

My daughter gets dizziness,nausea,headache. She went to the doctor andthey told her she has vertigo and gave her medicine. Well she still have problem and she feel like the medicine is not helping. Someone told her she might have fibro something. She not a doctor. We aRE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT what is wrong so she can live her life.

Hi, I'm new to the sight but have been doing research on Trileptal and MS. I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist?

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now. Can anyone tell me at what dose of trileptal you got some relief from the constant crawling, burning, crushing type pains? Also does the side effect of nausea and just feeling crappy all over from trileptal eventually subside. I also have MS. Thank you.

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

The sodium levels are also low but the Trileptal or my diuretic could be the cause of that reading. We have started the weaning off process but the TN is trying to return so we are on the last week of taper of Trileptal and stating Neurontin and Cymbalta to replace it. My Ms neuro would prefer to keep me on a low dose of Trileptal for the TN and continue all the other meds. does this seems like excessive amount of drugs to be taking? Don't forget the nortriptyline and clonzepam too.

I am on 900mg of trileptal and had a healthy baby boy in 2013. I am still on the same meds and currently 10 weeks preggo again. Good luck.

I have had ep all my life, when i got older, the 'peti-mal' sz turned into grand-mal sz, when i have a sz, after its over i have terrible headache. sometimes if i get enough warning time (aura) i can get to ground or bed, and lay on my left side, and thru what i call 'controled breathing' i can "ward off" the worst of the sz, but this comes with a price, very very bsd headche, that lasts hours.. sometimes i think it would be better to just have the grand-mal..

My doctor already has me on 50mg of topamax which i take once a day and 150mg of trileptal that i take twice a day. Sincerely, Catherine M.

I missed your orignial posting. I am sorry to hear of your TN. I, too, have bilateral TN. Trileptal is a wonder drug when it comes to TN. Once you acclimate to the Trileptal it's a life saver. Unfortynatley , I had to stop taking due to too much sodium loss (my kidneys were misbehaving). I am SO glad to hear that it is improving!! Wishing you continued sucess with treatng this extremely paiful disorder.

I woke up this morning with a headache and I have felt like I have the flu all day. I cannot eat or drink anything. I'm exausted. Does anyone have experience with this med? How long will these symptoms last? I have to somehow work tomorrow. I am getting so tired of being sick and tired. I'm not depressed. I'm just coming back from hell. I had major surgery. It made me have a severe manic episode.

my doctor switched my meds she took me off ativan and lexapro and put me of seroquil and trileptal. i am in sweats all night i have a major headache i am so tired...

My wife has been taking Tegretol 200mg X 3 tines a day, this has caused her to be disorientated and nauseous & still in pain, she is trying Trileptal 300mg X 3, whilst cutting out the Tegretol. My question is how much Trileptal can she take ??????

I've been taking these two for 2 months. 1800 mg trileptal 10 mg abilify. i'm doing a lot better (rages getting under control, manic moods lowered) but i'm still so depressed. my irritability is still off the charts. do you think adding another med will be the most likely next step or will my doc just keep raising my dosages?

I was on Trileptal for a while. After that my psychiatrist transferred me to Lamictal. It took some time to have the withdrawal symptoms to pass (and the efficacy of the other medication to start) but it settled after some time. Generally things begin to improve within a few weeks. As long as you followed your psychiatrist's titration schedule it should be fine. Keep your psychiatrist updated on how you are doing and they will know how to follow up.

I think Geodon is for BP patients who have equal mania and depression or more on the manic side (as opposed to Lamictal which is used for greater depressive BP). Trileptal is very similar to Tegretol - in fact, I think they are the same molecule but varied somewhat. I've read a statement from a Psychiatrist that Tegretol is always more successful for them than Trileptal is. Go to Bipolarworld - the Dr. in charge of that wrote a abstract of his experience using Tegretol vs Trileptal for BP.

I'm wondering if anyone else has numb fingertips as a side effect from Trileptal...I am currently taking 600 mg. I'm also being worked up for MS, so I don't know if this is from the drug I take for TN or from some other cause?? Thanks.

t have epilepsy, but my questions is what happens to you possible long term effects from taking it;s medication. I had a Shoppers Drug Mart give me Trileptal 300mg instead of my medication. My memory had changed some what and don't know if it's from it or not. No one has an aswer to why I am still living after taking those meds? For 5 days I had to put up with barely keeping my eyes open and my husband couldn't wake me for two hours?

To take this test my doctor weened me off Trileptal over a three week period. After off the drug for a couple weeks my symptoms returned - full force. Now after two weeks back on, I'm feeling much better. Any ideas?
