trileptal for anxiety

DOES ANY ONE TAKE TRILEPTAL FOR BIPOLAR ??? IF SO HOW MUCH AND FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING IT??

I was on Trileptal for a while. After that my psychiatrist transferred me to Lamictal. It took some time to have the withdrawal symptoms to pass (and the efficacy of the other medication to start) but it settled after some time. Generally things begin to improve within a few weeks. As long as you followed your psychiatrist's titration schedule it should be fine. Keep your psychiatrist updated on how you are doing and they will know how to follow up.

My symptoms are that I am having horrible anxiety, insomnia and irritability since reducing my dosage of Trileptal this week. Backstory: I am switching from Trileptal to Lamictal over a long period of time. After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system.

im taking citalopram dont remember the mg but its a whole and a half a tab at bedtime and i also take what my doctor calls a mood stabilizer trileptal not sure what the mg is on it either but i take it 4 times daily usually two in the am and two before bed..

Thanks for your info on how Trileptal works for Tregeminal Neuralgia. I would be interested to see how it works with other people as well, in place of Carbamazapine and Gabapentin so I have some ammunition when I see my neurologist. I don't think Gabapentin is doing much if anything for me, I am currently taking 2700 mg per day in addition to Carbamazapine.

I have Clonazepam to take as needed, but my doc wanted to put me on an anti-convulsant med (Oxcarbazepine) - brand name Trileptal. It is for seizures, but apparently also used for anxiety. Anyone try this or something similar? SSRIs did NOT work for me, so this would be the next route. I have moderate to severe anxiety with symptopms of constant racing thoughts, feeling like I am looking my mind, the actual Panic attacks with the sweating, racing heart, thinking I am dying. etc..

Concerta and Trileptal are for ADHD and Mood Stabilizers usually for Anxiety yes. The Prevacid is a stomach acid reducer. Geodan is a bipolar medication. Depending on how long he has been on them, he may have an allergic reaction. Id research.

I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist? Is it possible that this face numbness/tingling sensations are symptoms of MS? FYI I am a 33 yr old female.

trileptal, there is limited data on effectiveness for bipolar. If it's working for you, no reason to discontinue it, but there may be bettter options. Are you experiencing any side effects from your meds?

I took ect from 4/2008 to 7/2009 and ended up with all kinds of problems. My memory is terrible, short term and long term. I've been on trileptal for 3 yrs and seroquel for a year. The seroquel helps but I put on a lot of weight. I'll never go back to ect.

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

I did feel like I was getting a little pain relief while on the Trileptal. Just hoping Tegretol works for me. Want to get out of this constant pain so I can get back to doing the everyday things I used to enjoy.

After only a week of being on this medication for the stabbing pain behind my right eye I feel horrible do the side effects eventually get better or should I stop taking it

I have been on it for only 5 months. I have had no lasting problems so far. It has completely stopped my seizures. I have TLE. Yes I was also told the same thing about being on it forever... I don't know how long the drug has been out in the US. Guess we need to do some research. Stay in touch.

I withdrew of off the trileptal first and the geodon second. As i started withdrawing off of the trileptal i started to feel numb in my head. It is now about nine months later and the same annoying feeling is still there. My question is if withdrawing from the medication in the way i did was the cause of this numbness. I was on this medication for about six months prior to that with no numbness or bad side effects, just the inability so sit still and focus.

Hi, I have been taking Trileptal for 8 years now and have done great with it. I would like to be pregnant in a couple of years and was wondering if anyone has been pregnant while taking the drug. My doctors are insisting that I change over to Lamictil so that my pregnancy will be safer. Any advice anyone??

) at the moment im not on any psych meds other than xanax, as the zoloft i was taking for 3 weeks made me want to die from panic and anxiety, a total paradoxial effect, when i was taking it for panic attacks and anxiety in general. after most of my life at pdocs and therapists, im exhausted with all the meds and concotions and stuff i have to do just to be 'normal', its almost like ive given up on the mental health community in my area!

Yes that will have to be another thing for me to tackle after I get threw taking the Norco I will have to start to wean off the anxiety meds. I do not want to take them anymore and yes everytime I would count the pills to see how many I had to go now my husband has them so I no longer have to look at them and see were I am at. what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?

He told me to take the Trileptal 2 x per day and see if that helps. He said it is a pill for nerve pain and lets try increasing the dose. I am to call back either way tomorrow and let them know if it is better. I told the PA about my PCP thinking it has been shingles when this has happened in the past, but shingles never happened. I asked her what it is, she doesn't know, but said she has heard this complaint in the past by other patients. So, does it matter what the source of the pain is?

I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. Now I am looking for a tablet which should have both of this content in the same. I am finishing my week of no medication for my TN after tapering off the Trileptal, and my neuro-opthalmalogist wants to start me on Lyrica. I am very concerned about gaining weight on it (if my insurance company even approves it.) I have been very carefully following WW and have lost 35 pounds since August. The Lyrica site says something like 10-16% of people do gain, so I wonder if board members have been experiencing this.

I've been taking these two for 2 months. 1800 mg trileptal 10 mg abilify. i'm doing a lot better (rages getting under control, manic moods lowered) but i'm still so depressed. my irritability is still off the charts. do you think adding another med will be the most likely next step or will my doc just keep raising my dosages?

My wife has been taking Tegretol 200mg X 3 tines a day, this has caused her to be disorientated and nauseous & still in pain, she is trying Trileptal 300mg X 3, whilst cutting out the Tegretol. My question is how much Trileptal can she take ??????
