Trileptal dosage range

Common Questions and Answers about Trileptal dosage range

trileptal

1212999 tn?1272305203 That's a reasonable dosage of both medications. Trileptal was not quite that effective for me although every person reacts differently to each medication. If the Trileptal is raised you may encounter these side effects at an increased rate. It might make sense for your psychiatrist to add another medication but there may be some interactions so he might want to change or adjust the medications you are on but that's their decision.

Avatar f tn I talked this with my social worker but because of the severity of my mania I think she wants me to be on a higher dosage or atleast a different kind. I tried to tell my psych doc (I probably didnt explain it very well) she just lowered my dosage. I am just, I dont know. I want to be able to be aware just in case anything was to happen to my family or if I need to be on the move if i need to escape or anything. (fire, breakin, etc.) Can anyone offer any advice or ever felt this way?
1011826 tn?1274492712 My symptoms are that I am having horrible anxiety, insomnia and irritability since reducing my dosage of Trileptal this week. Backstory: I am switching from Trileptal to Lamictal over a long period of time. After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system.
Avatar m tn I experienced a problem with generic Trileptal. Kept increasing the dosage, with little relief. Then I started having memory lapses due to the dosage amount. The doc took me off of generic and put me on name brand Trileptal and we were able to reduce the dosage drastically and stop the pain. As for when to take the drugs, you are right, it's best to keep an even level of the drugs throughout the day. Best advice, talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn Being female -- I can't answer your question about ED. I do know that I tried gabapentin -- didn't work, Tegretol (Carbamezepine) didn't work. But Trileptal worked well. It DID cause nausea and drowsiness. The pain doc said to take it a half-hour to an hour before eating and that resolve the nausea. He also advised taking a No-Doz (equal to 1 cup of coffee) along with the daytime doses -- and that took care of most of the drowsiness.
471949 tn?1236904026 My son takes Trileptal for his Epilepsy...(he is 16)...it's affecting his memory more and more; does anyone else here take this med and have similar problems? His dosage is 900mg/twice a day. Any lower dose and his seizures return. This has been the only med that has been able to control his seizures. He has frontal lobe epilepsy with seizures that only occured in his sleep (with a couple of rare exceptions). Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced swollen glands and itchy eyes when taking trileptal? I've only been on it now for 3wks and am currently on 75mg along with 375mg of Keppra twice daily. I don't have a rash but am wondering if this is just a cold or side effect from meds. I called the nurse yesterday at docs office they suggested being checked out by PMD, any suggestions? I dont have a fever or any other symptoms? Thanks for the feedback.
4980051 tn?1361868778 Thank you, for telling me about trileptal. I will tell my doctor about it.
Avatar n tn currently 6ml in the a.m. and 8ml in the p.m. (the concentration is 300mg/5ml.) About 2 weeks ago, his dose of Trileptal was increased from 6ml twice a day to the present dosage (because he was still having some mild break-through seizures). Around the same time, his teacher has mentioned that he is not "listening" well to her directions, and sometimes she has to re-explain her directions to him.
Avatar m tn From your test results your Free T4 was a bit lower than we normally suggest, which is middle of the range, at minimum. Your Free T3 is even lower in its range, which shows that your body is not converting T4 to T3 very well. Free T3 is the thyroid hormone that correlates best with symptoms. Many members say that symptom relief required Free T4 at the middle of its range, and Free T3 in the upper third of its range, or as necessary to relieve symptoms.
Avatar m tn I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. Now I am looking for a tablet which should have both of this content in the same. I feel guilty that I am taking more tablets and my health condition is improved now. so I planned to reduce my tablet dosage. so I look over this- i.e.
Avatar f tn I gained about twenty pounds on Trileptal, (a very similar drug), in just a month, and now I am also switching to Zonegran. I'm still in the process of raising my dose, but thrilled that it's working well for your daughter!
Avatar f tn We all need to find our optimal range and not just a normal range. Shoot for a lower TSH and a higher free t3 (will probably have to have t3 added in to get there) with a mid range freet4 and see how you feel? If your doctor will not check the freet3 level, then find one who will.
233622 tn?1279334905 I was started on trileptal for different reasons. I was dx with seizures but really couldn't tolerate triliptal due to nausea and extreme dizzyness. I just started Keppra and seem to be doing much better. I know this isn't much help but thought I would chime in in case you experience any of the same symptoms. Wishing you lots of luck.
Avatar f tn I know it can be a side effect. My question is; Is this an allergic reaction or is the dosage too much? Actually my face feels stiff at times and cheeks get sore. If it is the gabapentin, what would be the alternative? Thank you med help family........
Avatar n tn I went online to check my lab results on 4-26-13 B12 542 range (211-946) on 10-14-13 4.98 range (211-946) TSH 9-5-12 1.39 range (.27 -4.2) on 9-25-13 TSH 5.5 range (.27-4.2}. All that was done was the TSH. The only one who did a tsh and free t4 was the renal doctor on 10-25-13. I reduced it from 112 mcg to 100 mcg.
Avatar f tn It is more of an annoyance; however this dosage really does not help me. I have never had facial pain per say, just numbness/tightness. This is the only medication I take other than vitamin D and my monthly Tysabri infusion. (just got 3rd infusion last week) Other than the trigeminal nerve, balance and gait are really my only MS issues. I take PT 3x per week and swim daily which really helps; however I still use my cane. I read about Lyrica and same side effects.
Avatar n tn t apply to everyone) is that FT4 should be about mid range and FT3 should be in the upper 1/3 of its range. Your FT4 is only at 36% of the range and we have no idea about FT3, so we don't know if you are converting the FT4 to FT3 adequately or not. You should ask for the FT3 test, next time you get TSH and FT4; if she refuses, you should probably find another doctor, because one who refuses to look at FT3, and/or doses based on TSH, will keep you very ill.
Avatar f tn in 2000 i was diagonosed with biopolor disorder i had my assorment of drug theropy i ended with a cocktale of trileptal, trazadone and lexapro when i found out i was pregnat in 2004. They took me off all my meds and have been med free until about 6 months ago when i went completely off the wall...They then put me on lexapro and ativan.. I went to a psychiotrist 3 weeks ago who took me off both of those meds and put me on Seroquel 150mg and trileptal 1200mg.
Avatar f tn He is not against Morphine I take it for Cancer. There are several drugs for nerve pain Lyrica, Gabenpentin, Trileptal, and few others. For muscle spasms there are muscle relaxers the main ones are Bacolphen, Flexiral, and Zananflex. Many people need a combination. Some drugs work for some people and others for others. My MS Specialist sent me to a pain clinic. It might take awhile to get the right combination and dosage. It took me two years to get on the combination that works.
Avatar f tn Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!
