trileptal and wellbutrin

My boyfriend has been on paxil since March, he was taking 40 mg of it a day. He has no sex drive and can't stay hard longer then 5 seconds. He cut his paxil by 25% each week and a week and a half ago he was started wellbutrin taking 300 mg and only 15 mg of paxil. 7 days ago he stopped paxikl completely.

Thanks well my sub doctor is the one that gave me the rx fo WB so I guess is ok, and I was taking lexapro and trileptal and it was killing me weigh gain and no energy I mean nothing so Friday I ask my doctor to change it He wanted me to taper the trileptal (mood stabilizer) but of course I didn't listen is been 3 days of those and doing ok started the WB on Sat.

) Now I take Tegretol and Wellbutrin, and that seems to be working for me except that I think the Wellbutrin may have triggered olfactory seizures when I was taking it with lithium, seroquel, and prednisone--which all increase the seizure risk of Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is supposed to be least apt to trigger mania, but for those who are triggered, it is usually very bad. Wellbutrin is kind of in a class of it's own, working on dopamine and norepinephrine to some extent.

quetiapine 25mg night, lamotrigine 100mg night, wellbutrin 150mg twice a day. And inderal 10mg as needed for anxiety. Lamotrigine gave me a rash, wellbutrin (generic version) made me irritable and snippy at everything. The seroquel (generic version) has been wonderful, although it makes me hungry but since I take it at night I try not to stay awake with it. Inderal (propranolol) gave me apathy so I am taking less.

I was lucky and after 3 procedures have been pain free and medication free for almost 4 years. So I was able to wean off the Trileptal under doctors orders.

ll need a typical or atypical antipsychotic (Seroquel and Abilify are both atypicals). Carbamazepine interacts with a lot of other things, and oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) seems like a better choice, even though it's off label. In the end, there's a huge number of meds that can be used in BP, and it really depends on the individual how well any particular one will work. I then had to taper off the meds due to becoming pregnant and all of the sudden realized I felt better than when I had been taking the Paxil, Wellbutrin or Trileptal. All of the sudden I realized I had myself back. I still take Klonopin at night to sleep, but other than that I can go through every day feeling fine. I think it definetly depends on the meds you are on. It also helps to have a supply of an anti-anxiety med that you can take when you need it.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced swollen glands and itchy eyes when taking trileptal? I've only been on it now for 3wks and am currently on 75mg along with 375mg of Keppra twice daily. I don't have a rash but am wondering if this is just a cold or side effect from meds. I called the nurse yesterday at docs office they suggested being checked out by PMD, any suggestions? I dont have a fever or any other symptoms? Thanks for the feedback.

Hi, I'm new to the sight but have been doing research on Trileptal and MS. I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist?

Hi. I was diagnosed with ATN 14 years ago. The pain has been well-controlled with neurontin until 3 weeks ago. I had an exacerbation of pain, most likely brought on by dental work. The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now.

m terrified of this coming back tenfold) and I take lexapro 20mg...and wellbutrin xl 300mg currently. My wellbutrin dose was bumped up a month ago from 150mg...so I'm hoping that maybe that will help me fight the depression crap from this? Just curious to hear of anyone's experience with antidepressants and withdrawals. Thanks guys.

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your reply, I ve taken a holiday by the beach i went for swiming walking trying to laugh and forget about my problems and it helped a lot, Now with the calmepam i have reduced the dose gradually i started to take half of the tablet for 5 days then i stopped for 2 days then i started to take quarter of the tablet every two days till i stopped now (almost from 5 days) is it okay?.

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

currently 6ml in the a.m. and 8ml in the p.m. (the concentration is 300mg/5ml.) About 2 weeks ago, his dose of Trileptal was increased from 6ml twice a day to the present dosage (because he was still having some mild break-through seizures). Around the same time, his teacher has mentioned that he is not "listening" well to her directions, and sometimes she has to re-explain her directions to him.

re taking the Trileptal as they serve basically the same purpose and combining them may have more adverse side effects than worth it. I'm not sure about Neurontin's effectiveness against opiate wds but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't do much. It's primarily an anti-seizure med but it's also used for pain relief even tho it has no narcotic properties whatsoever. But again you don't want to take the Trileptal and Neurontin together...

I am on 900mg of trileptal and had a healthy baby boy in 2013. I am still on the same meds and currently 10 weeks preggo again. Good luck.

Is anyone taking Trileptal for Touretts and OCD combined. My 13 year old daughter does. Does not help as much as Abilfy but does not have the hunger issue either.

I lost my medical insurance and need help with maintaining my prescription of Trileptal. I was told that the internet coupons may not be available in Maine where I live. Other assistance, maybe directly from manufacture? Only need assistance for 6 mos.

Ok so, I have been taking the's meds for like 2 months now. I am taking 150 mg of Zoloft and 1800 mg of Trileptal daily. I have been very emotional, like it's that time of the month but it's not, for the last week and for like 2 days now, just randomly I smell weird as ****... Like I was warming up some pizza rolls and it smelled like sweaty day old gym clothes and then I heated up something else and it smelled like day old pissy clothes... Is this normal??

I have been on Trileptal for about 4 years now. I began it because I had trouble with sleepiness and general fatigue on Tegretol, and the blood tests bothered me. At first Trileptal worked, but the effect lessened over time as I built up tolerance and we (doc and I) kept tweaking it until I was on 1800 mg a day and it still wasn't really working. I also have generalized anxiety disorder, so she added Xanax into the mix.

However, since this is day one of 100 mg, could this go away? LMK. Also, am on Trileptal (1800 mg/day, with 300 mg in am and 1500 mg in pm) and Xanax (between 1 1/2 to 2 mg/ day depending on anxiety symptoms). The doctor wants to get Lamictal into my system and then decrease Trileptal slowly as our next step. Anyway, any comments on these side effects? Thanks for your help!!

I found, per web searching, that some people get migraines from wellbutrin. Is that true? I am so hopeful because I used wellbutrin in my past and it was wonderful for me. I was at the denial stage of my illness and quit taking it, but now I understand I need my medication to live a normal life. I was also having terrible headaches then and I have them better under control due to my taking magnesium daily. Therefore I do not know if it was the wellbutrin aggrivating my headaches or not.

I just started taking oxcarbazepine 9 days ago and I built up to 300 mg,no high not even close.Not like with other drugs like oxycontin, were with in 30 min you get a buzz.I guess you have to take higher doses if thats were you want to go,but I dont know.

My wife has been taking Tegretol 200mg X 3 tines a day, this has caused her to be disorientated and nauseous & still in pain, she is trying Trileptal 300mg X 3, whilst cutting out the Tegretol. My question is how much Trileptal can she take ??????

HI, was on trileptal for seizure control. but it lowered my sodium, and also I had a seizure on it. so its been two weeks since I stopped the the dose completely. I still get lots of anxiety. Not sure if its due to weaning or not. I was taken from 1050 mg a day to 0 in 4-6 weeks.
