trileptal

Avatar m tn now the doc wants to put me back on low dose lithium along with a med to protect my kidneys and monitor them closely. i am curently on trileptal and seroquel but still have anxiety and hypomania. i don;t know what to do. has anyone had similar experiences with ect and/or with low dose lithium?
Avatar f tn ve been taking Trileptal 300mg and Lexapro 10mg for over six years now and I did well for a while but about seven months ago started loosing my grip on the situation again. Please reply!
420308 tn?1203041262 I also am bipolar depressive and was on Effexor, which pooped, then Paxil and 600mg Seroquel. I went from 130 to 180 in 6 months and was having ongoing panic attacks. Day and night for an entire year. I'll tell you what made the panic attacks and depression go away. I quit antidepressants and sloooooly tapered off the seroquel. It was remarkable. The antidepressants were making me crazy. The awful anxiety slowly got better, although not all the way.
Avatar f tn I went to a psychiotrist 3 weeks ago who took me off both of those meds and put me on Seroquel 150mg and trileptal 1200mg. Last week she upped the seroquel to 300mg and my trileptal to 1500mg. I now cant function at all i cant concentrate, i cant sleep all i want to do is eat. I wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat and i am soaking wet.. I don't understand what is going on can someone please help me??
Avatar n tn 5 mg/day if you need to and very gradually work your way up. Tegretol (carbamazapine) and Trileptal (oxcarbazapine) are weight neutral as far as I can tell from the reading I've done. Trileptal is off label for bipolar, but it apparently has fewer side effects than Tegretol and apparently works just as well. Tegretol interacts with a LOT of things, and needs blood tests, but Trileptal at least doesn't need the blood tests. Those are all in the anticonvulsant class.
Avatar f tn t listed. Meds like Abilify, Trileptal, Tegretol, Seroquel, Resperidol......I think those are some that should be added! Thanks!
Avatar f tn I was on a larger dose of Seroquel than that (75-100mg), and never had any problems getting up in the night if the phone rang or my dog nudged me in the face with his nose. But I guess I took Trileptal a long time ago and it didn't do anything for my manic states, and the Seroquel didn't always help me sleep anyway, so it is possible that they affect you differently. I would suggest at least trying to take it.
1134609 tn?1269272200 My experience with mood stabilizers was different from yours because I responded very well to Lamictal and Seroquel (which is an antipsychotic used as a mood stabilizer). What I take now is in Phase II FDA study so they are still researching it. As for mood stabilizers that are FDA approved this list might be of help to you: http://www.psycheducation.org/depression/meds/moodstabilizers.htm as well as this site: http://www.psycom.net/depression.central.
574118 tn?1305135284 Right now I am manic with mixed states and rapid cycling. seroquel takes care of that. I saw my pdoc as i was convinced that it's time to add a mood stabilizer like the usual therapy. Back in time, I didn't tolerate neither tegretol nor lamictal. what is left is lithium or valproate. of course there are less famous drugs like trileptal, topamax,..... i took 2 pills of lithium and i had serious insomnia for 2 days, intolerable, dry mouth,...the usual.
Avatar m tn I was given seroquel when I got my rx for suboxone, the doctor gave me seroquel, trileptal and something else I forgot seroquel being the strongest yes for wds when I took my last hydro. Well I took the strongest bc of the wds being bad took the seroquel went to lay on my bed then 20 min.
1100992 tn?1262357216 I found Lamictal the most tolerable out of the 3 and it worked specifically on rapid cycling and mixed states and could not tolerate Tegretol, Trileptal and Depakoate because of personality changes (but that's a potential side effect of all anti-convulsants used as mood stabilizers including the one I take now) but each person responds differently to each medication although generally, side effect profile aside as it is the only medication approved as a mood stabilizer before any other usa
Avatar n tn I am currently taking 3.75mg zyprexa, 50mg Topimax, 300mg Seroquel, and 350mg Trileptal at nightime. I take 300mg Lamictal and 350mg Trileptal every morning. I sleep all night, and want to sleep more. I've had bloodwork done the past few months and my thyroid always comes back alright. I see my counselor every other week, but it is really difficult to get a work in appointment with my psychiatrist. He's always booked for the next 3 months and it's very frustrating for me.
1039200 tn?1314912008 Since taking seroquel for bipolar my life has slowed down enormously and I have gone from being very active to the most inactive I have ever been in my life. I lack motivation to do even the most basic things, and I have other side effects. My pdoc believes that this lack of motivation etc is depression, which I'm sure it is but he wants me to increase the seroquel substantially as he believes that it will help.
Avatar n tn Like James, I like Seroquel and Lithium. Seroquel was awesome for helping me sleep and I only take a low dose now (200mg). I added Lamictal for a post-manic depression, and it worked okay, not great. But I have been stable for three years being on these three. I haven't been hospitalized and I've been able to work. This summer I added Prozac to help a depression after my dad's death (last year). I haven't had any severe side effects from these.
Avatar n tn It sounds like theyve got you a nice little three course meal of pills all worked out there. Are they giving any of those to you specificaly for sleep? Im unmedicated i dont keep up with the **** they dish out to people so i apologise.
Avatar m tn I withdrew of off the trileptal first and the geodon second. As i started withdrawing off of the trileptal i started to feel numb in my head. It is now about nine months later and the same annoying feeling is still there. My question is if withdrawing from the medication in the way i did was the cause of this numbness. I was on this medication for about six months prior to that with no numbness or bad side effects, just the inability so sit still and focus.
763054 tn?1314053121 He switched my effexor to Pristiq, Trileptal to the generic Tegretol, and wanted to switch my Seroquel to a generic but the price was still going to be over $200 so i couldn't afford that one. Thankfully my insurance covered ONE of my meds (clonazepam) for $20. *Still dont have my birth control I've been taking my new meds Pristiq and Tegretol for about a week now.
Avatar f tn Trileptal and Seroquel but they are not working. I am taking myself of the trileptal now. i am off the seroquel completely now. Like you said I have grown immune to them. I have an appt to see my psych doc soon. I had printed out a list of meds so hopefully we are able to get the right ones.
Avatar m tn I am wondering if this is a plausible cause. He was also on Risperdal and Depakote and Trileptal and Terazadone and Lamictal, of course not all at the same time. I am sure I spelled all these meds wrong. We are having trouble finding any professional who will take an active interest in the urgency of our problem with both the aggression and the onset of these tic behaviors. We really need some help.
Avatar f tn my doctor switched my meds she took me off ativan and lexapro and put me of seroquil and trileptal. i am in sweats all night i have a major headache i am so tired...
Avatar f tn tegretol is supposedly the safest among the 3 classical drugs for BP. the other 2 are lithium and valproex. Tegretal is not used much in the USA because of drug interactions and sometimes replaced by it's weaker cousin trileptal. i tried it myself 2 years ago but couldn't tolerate because of the headaches it caused me. However i assume it's better than the other 2. look nothing of the sort as which is better than such and such it's all related to the person.
1985196 tn?1402190098 I've been taking it 3 day's now , with the Lithium and Seroquel Xr ( which i'm slowly reducing ) comming off , i'm feeling great , my paranoia is almost gone ,my auditory hallucination's are as good as silenced ,my messed up thinking (Delusions ) are nowhere near as bad ,and i feel that my mood's are stabilizing , i have energy i can do stuff again like leave my house without thinking i'm gonna get shot by a sniper :/ , and my mind seem's to be clearer , I just h
420308 tn?1203041262 5mg of Effexor ER, 200mg of Lamictal, 60 mg of Buspar, 1200 mg of Neurontin, 600mg of Seroquel and .5 mg of Xanax ER as needed. I feel better than I ever had in my life, but the only problem I have now is excessive weight gain--about 30 lbs. I am currently 5'7 and 188 lbs. I want to get my weight down to 160 lbs. As a New Year's resolution I have been working out between 30-60 minutes 5 days a week combining cardio and weight training.
2080404 tn?1643113754 My doctor just took me off Lithium and what I was taking to sleep- Trazadone- and switched me to Tegretol and Ambien. I have Bi polar type II and Borderline Personality Disorder with Ultradian cycles. I just joined this site while doing absent-minded research browsing on the two disorders and decided "why not?". Set up a profile and even trackers which is something else. But I can't help but find purely scientific facts about the medicines, has anyone been on them?
Avatar n tn You could ask your Dr if you could try an anticonvulsant instead of Seroquel. Many of those (trileptal, gabepentin, and others) are prescribed for pain as well as for bipolar. That is likely the direction I am going to go. I do not want to remain on Seroquel. Good luck.
Avatar f tn And it never subsided for me, i guess it just really depends on the person
447130 tn?1225470866 Im currently taking effexor and seroquel, started off with prozac, then Mirtazapine think its also reffered to as zispin this was good for helping me sleep and also gave me a false appetite as i wasnt eating but didnt really help my bipolar. There was 1 more i was on but cant remem the name, hope this helps a bit.
