trileptal and headaches

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

Hello. I have SEVERE migraines at least 3 times a week, and headaches daily. Does anyone know of a good medication that will work for Migraines besides Topomax? I cannot take it, as there are side effects that are dangerous to me.

I have epilepsy and headaches as well. I don't know if they are related. I don't know why I have seizures. I am on trileptal and take maxalt for my headaches. Docs don't know what else to do for me. My seizures are under control pretty much. Only have them in my sleep and only when I miss my medication or when I need to up it.

hi i have been having these painful headaches again the top front and side of mt head reakky hurt and my face is numb and tingly again i will be surprised if i do not have lesions in the frontal lobe and the right side of my brain.also realized the top of my head feels numb.

ve not eaten a real meal in over two weeks, my body is weak, the headaches and nausea are not very uplifting. I am not driving due to those symptoms for my and everyone elses safety. Can the tumor have something to do with the seizures also? What can be done about my headaches? I do not believe that putting my on vikidin is the solution to the problem. Please someone help.

ve stopped taking trileptal (for mood stablizer) and experiencing ear ringing and tremors. Can one ever find something that works????

I have tonic-clonic seizures, and absence seizures generally. I have headaches that cause blurry vision. I see these color blobs that move in my vision that shouldn’t be there, they don’t show any connection to stimuli so I don’t have synesthesia. I’m on levetiracetam aka keppra and clobazam aka onfi.

I found Lamictal the most tolerable out of the 3 and it worked specifically on rapid cycling and mixed states and could not tolerate Tegretol, Trileptal and Depakoate because of personality changes (but that's a potential side effect of all anti-convulsants used as mood stabilizers including the one I take now) but each person responds differently to each medication although generally, side effect profile aside as it is the only medication approved as a mood stabilizer before any other usa

I was lucky and after 3 procedures have been pain free and medication free for almost 4 years. So I was able to wean off the Trileptal under doctors orders.

Well im 18 years old and been having these really bad headaches since i was about 12. Doctors can't figure out what's wrong.I had a mri of the brain, mra of the neck and they all came out clear. I'm taking 2 butal apap 325 caff tab, 1 and a half topamax, 1 and a half trileptal, and one baclofen. My doctor also gave me a soft neck brace to wear while in on the computer and watching tv, but it seems like the brace is making this worse.

ve recently swithched to generic tegretol and feel a bit funny. my memory and reflexes are much poorer and i feel more fatigued.

If you have taken tegretol I would be interested in hearing from you about your experiences with this medication. Apparently I have become much more emotionally sensitive, and I know, much more short tempered. Has this happened to you and what did you do about it? I don't know whether it's me changing and not putting up with as much as I used and those around me can't handle it or if it's the meds. Maybe it's both - I really don't know.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced swollen glands and itchy eyes when taking trileptal? I've only been on it now for 3wks and am currently on 75mg along with 375mg of Keppra twice daily. I don't have a rash but am wondering if this is just a cold or side effect from meds. I called the nurse yesterday at docs office they suggested being checked out by PMD, any suggestions? I dont have a fever or any other symptoms? Thanks for the feedback.

Hi, I'm new to the sight but have been doing research on Trileptal and MS. I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist?

Hi. I was diagnosed with ATN 14 years ago. The pain has been well-controlled with neurontin until 3 weeks ago. I had an exacerbation of pain, most likely brought on by dental work. The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now.

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your reply, I ve taken a holiday by the beach i went for swiming walking trying to laugh and forget about my problems and it helped a lot, Now with the calmepam i have reduced the dose gradually i started to take half of the tablet for 5 days then i stopped for 2 days then i started to take quarter of the tablet every two days till i stopped now (almost from 5 days) is it okay?.

I'm not sure my doctor will keep me on it, I've been one it since the 30th and it's caused headaches every day and more dissociative and depersonalization episodes. I've had one every day for the past 4 days, like clockwork. I put in a call to my clinic who's left a message with the nurse, not sure what the result will be. Another switch? Upped dosage? Anxiety medication?

Hi everyone, Well I have been horrible lately I'm so tired I can barely open my eyes is just so bad no energy no nothing I just sit here at work and have just rest my head in the desk cause I'm so tired. Tell me if what I'm taking is making me feel this way please: 8:00am 2mg of sub 3:00pm 1mg of sub 8:00pm 10mg lexapro 900mg of trileptal (mood stabilizer/seizure med in my case I was put on it for mood 3 months ago) 9:00pm 2 tylenol pms I called my psych.

currently 6ml in the a.m. and 8ml in the p.m. (the concentration is 300mg/5ml.) About 2 weeks ago, his dose of Trileptal was increased from 6ml twice a day to the present dosage (because he was still having some mild break-through seizures). Around the same time, his teacher has mentioned that he is not "listening" well to her directions, and sometimes she has to re-explain her directions to him.

I am on 900mg of trileptal and had a healthy baby boy in 2013. I am still on the same meds and currently 10 weeks preggo again. Good luck.

Is anyone taking Trileptal for Touretts and OCD combined. My 13 year old daughter does. Does not help as much as Abilfy but does not have the hunger issue either.

Hi, I'm on trileptal, and I'm so tired, dizzy, I just stop taking morning pil because i can't drive to work. I will call my doc. I tell him about this. This drug is really something. But what I read, all this medicines are like this.

I lost my medical insurance and need help with maintaining my prescription of Trileptal. I was told that the internet coupons may not be available in Maine where I live. Other assistance, maybe directly from manufacture? Only need assistance for 6 mos.
