He watched videos of tics I have recorded and talked with me about her behaviors, he let me know that she has Tourettes, OCD, and ADHD. With both my kids the tics come and go and change.

My son has been diagnosed with Epilepsy due to seizures, however he also has an Arachnoid Cyst on his right frontal lobe. His neurologist won't even consider the draining procedure, he says there's not enough science to prove any connection between the two. He placed my son on Trileptal, which in my opinion has changed the way my son performs in school, hinders his memory, and acts like an ADHD type of calming medicine. My son had zero behavior problems prior to the medication.

We went back to the ER and they went from 100mg of Trileptal to 350mg in one dose. He had a real bad reaction and just started acting crazy. He behavioral completly changed once he got that medicince. It was so bad they thought he had encephatlis (sp?). He had one more grand mal after the medicine and he also had the seizures again where he just turned blue and his heart and oxygen levels droped. They admitted him again and changed him to Zonegran which he's been doing great on now.

My daughter was diagnosed with CP, sensory intetgration, ADHD, and had suffer from seizures, but has been seizure free for about 3 years (so we think, nothing witnessed). She was first on trileptal, then added keppra, then d/c'd the trileptal. About 1 1/2 years ago they d/c'd her keppra, due to being seizure free for a couple of years and her dose was so low that on her last labs it did not even register. She got very ill in February of this year with the flu, then strep throat....

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now. Can anyone tell me at what dose of trileptal you got some relief from the constant crawling, burning, crushing type pains? Also does the side effect of nausea and just feeling crappy all over from trileptal eventually subside. I also have MS. Thank you.

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

So I have been diagnosed by two different psychiatrists the first said bipolar II the second cyclomania. Also been diagnosed with ADHD but cannot take meds for it because of bipolar. Or maybe I am just bipolar and was misdiagnosed...anyways I have irritability, anger, mild depression, hypomania, am very figity, have sleeping problems...

s quite a dilemma you have-- feeling that you have to chose between your sex life and living with symptoms of ADHD. This should be something that a psychiatrist will be able to manage. While some neurologists do medication management for psychiatric disorders, you will want to find a professional who does med management all the time.

I am supposed to start trileptal this morning but worried about the side effects particularly dizzines. Has anyone had these symptoms? what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?

DOES ANY ONE TAKE TRILEPTAL FOR BIPOLAR ??? IF SO HOW MUCH AND FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING IT??

My wife has been taking Tegretol 200mg X 3 tines a day, this has caused her to be disorientated and nauseous & still in pain, she is trying Trileptal 300mg X 3, whilst cutting out the Tegretol. My question is how much Trileptal can she take ??????

I've been taking these two for 2 months. 1800 mg trileptal 10 mg abilify. i'm doing a lot better (rages getting under control, manic moods lowered) but i'm still so depressed. my irritability is still off the charts. do you think adding another med will be the most likely next step or will my doc just keep raising my dosages?

I was on Trileptal for a while. After that my psychiatrist transferred me to Lamictal. It took some time to have the withdrawal symptoms to pass (and the efficacy of the other medication to start) but it settled after some time. Generally things begin to improve within a few weeks. As long as you followed your psychiatrist's titration schedule it should be fine. Keep your psychiatrist updated on how you are doing and they will know how to follow up.

I think Geodon is for BP patients who have equal mania and depression or more on the manic side (as opposed to Lamictal which is used for greater depressive BP). Trileptal is very similar to Tegretol - in fact, I think they are the same molecule but varied somewhat. I've read a statement from a Psychiatrist that Tegretol is always more successful for them than Trileptal is. Go to Bipolarworld - the Dr. in charge of that wrote a abstract of his experience using Tegretol vs Trileptal for BP.

I'm wondering if anyone else has numb fingertips as a side effect from Trileptal...I am currently taking 600 mg. I'm also being worked up for MS, so I don't know if this is from the drug I take for TN or from some other cause?? Thanks.

t have epilepsy, but my questions is what happens to you possible long term effects from taking it;s medication. I had a Shoppers Drug Mart give me Trileptal 300mg instead of my medication. My memory had changed some what and don't know if it's from it or not. No one has an aswer to why I am still living after taking those meds? For 5 days I had to put up with barely keeping my eyes open and my husband couldn't wake me for two hours?

To take this test my doctor weened me off Trileptal over a three week period. After off the drug for a couple weeks my symptoms returned - full force. Now after two weeks back on, I'm feeling much better. Any ideas?

Any diarrhea? How did you feel on Tegretol ? What was trileptal like?

My son takes Trileptal for his Epilepsy...(he is 16)...it's affecting his memory more and more; does anyone else here take this med and have similar problems? His dosage is 900mg/twice a day. Any lower dose and his seizures return. This has been the only med that has been able to control his seizures. He has frontal lobe epilepsy with seizures that only occured in his sleep (with a couple of rare exceptions). Thanks for your help.

My son has adhd/bipolar. I'm very confused about everything, i keep blaming myself as to maby its my fault that my son has these conditions? did i do something wrong? My son has changed medicine numerous times, its like only a temporary fix for him. He is on yvanse,intuniv, and trileptal duringt he day and then he takes trazodone to sleep at night. even then that dont work all the time.

Hi, I have suffered with migraines for many years & was placed on prophylactic meds-Cymbalta & Propranolol. About 3 months ago I developed Trigeminal Neuritis on my R side. I have to say it was the most painful affliction I ever experienced, even worse than the 2 spinal fusions I underwent! I was placed on Trileptal & am up to 600mg 2x/day, as well as continuing with Cymbalta & Propranolol.
