Some days it is more frequent than others and some days it seems to focus on one side of my body. I also feel trigeminal neuralgia more or less, one episode a month. Anybody else deal with this?
Just the other day I saw a neurologist and got Tegretol which is supposed to help the pain cuased by Trigeminal neuralgia which I have same symptoms for. BUT taking for 2 days 100mg per day didn't do anything. and yesterday I even felt some mild but still dull toothache one the other side of my face. My symptoms are generally get worst as the day goes by. and I have this constant tender point on end of my jaw line since the very beginning of the extraction.

This may be Trigeminal neuralgia as you have typical one sided facial pain extending to temple and eye( ophthalmic branch of trigeminal nerve may be involved) and sore gums of the teeth of same side (maxillary branch of 5th nerve). Trigeminal neuralgia may have a triggering factor like recent history of tooth extraction, touch, cold breeze or hot sensation etc. which you need to evaluate and avoid.

For years i had right jaw pain i am thinking tmj cause of bad dental work done and now i have horrible aching jaw and worst of all dull tight pressure temple pain. This ache worrys me more than the jaw. I am hoping its from the tmj. i have never been diagnosed seems like no doctor or dentist is interested in helping but is it normal to have the dull aching pressure in the ear and up to the temple and would a antiflamatory pill work to release the tense dull pressure.

The pain will go away for a month or two and come back in a violet attack. The pain is the worst I have ever felt its feels like a shocking pain in my tooth that last for about 10 seconds sometimes followed up by one or two more quick attacks. By ATN -- do you mean Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia? If so, there are 5 different types of surgery. There are also medications -- mostly anti-seizure medications normally used for epilepsy -- that are used to control the pain. Problem with the drugs is, they can cause other problems (kidney/liver) and regular blood tests are necessary.

The symptoms you are describing bear resemblance to few possibilities like facial nerve palsy, trigeminal neuralgia MPDS( myofacial pain dysfunction) and then TMJ disorder due to strenuous opening of mouth for long sittings of RCT.
However, I had the same symptoms you were having and was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Its where one or more of the three main nerves in your face cause nerve pain, or neuralgia. The first nerve lays across the eyebrows, the second lays across your cheek bones and the third nerve lays across the chin. My doctor put me on Lyrica and Klonopin and it seems to help a little, although the pain does intensify and the pain medication does not work for it since it is nerve pain.

Drug of choice for trigeminal neuralgia is carbamazepine but as the dose may vary according to severity therefore I would advice an oral medicine specialist consultation or at least a physician to confirm this diagnosis and get you treated accordingly. I am going twice a week to a Chiropractor to get relief from Trigeminal Neuralgia .He is an expert in in nerve pain treatment.I have Trigeminal Neuralgia since Nov ember 20001..I took Homeopathic treatment,Accupuncture treatment..Since one and half years I am taking Gabapentin,colonzepam,baclofom etc.Pain goes and come.some times it almost blind me due to severe pain.
Is there anyone who got cure by Chiropractor.

I have a lot of throbbing pain today that I did not have the first time it happen and it’s and I think it’s coming my wisdom tooth in the upper right. I am still unsure why it happen in the shower could be coincidental.
Cellulitis would not cause headache and speech problems, whereas trigeminal neuralgia would not cause visible redness and swelling. I can't think of a connection between these symptoms and her back operations or your MS. I think primary consultation should be with a neurologist. Sorry I can't be more definitive.

Trigeminal nerve which is responsible for sensations of the face. The cause trigeminal neuralgia is probably a blood vessel pressing on the trigeminal nerve. Tumors and multiple sclerosis can also cause it, but in some cases the cause is unknown. The pain is sudden, severe, electric shock-like, stabbing that is typically felt on one side of the jaw or cheek.
I am currently getting many other treatments for my migraines which work fairly well. And currently my trigeminal neuralgia is down to a dull roar, but it was at pain levels of 10 at times. I took Trileptal which gave me the worst migraines that I have had. Had to stop it, but it took care of the terrible mouth pain. What about you?
One of the causes of Trigeminal Neuralgia could be tumors. The Trigeminal nerve and its branches touches many parts of the face including the sinuses. (Google Gray's Anatomy (bartleby.com) for good diagrams of where the Trigeminal Nerve is).
I personally have not heard that TN loosens teeth -- although pain in the teeth and gums (because of all the areas the nerve touches) is common.
