t get diagnosed but by using the medication and seeing which ones helped to clear the rash, i decided it is ringworm. I used Triamcinolone acetonide on it for the first day. After I stopped, it grew twice as big. So you were right to say that the steroids would make ringworm worse. So after the first day I used lotrimin and it still grew. It's been four days of me putting it on the whole day and it's drying up.
i have a ringworm shaped rash on my right aerola that appeared a week ago and started as a red small dot like a mosquito bite yesterday it only was on the outside edges of my aerola. now it is shaped like a ringworm!!. should I be thinking cancer??? or a type of fungus and any suggestions of ointment I can use? Hi, I'm a m/23year. I was in high risk because of 8-9 (with condoms)sexual exposures and some of them were homosexual. Indeed, that first one of them was 22 months ago and the last one was 14 months ago.After that, i was freaked out, then 3 months after the last exposure i got tested for STD's & HIV which were all of them Negative. After that, i got tested again for just SDT's which became Negative.
He has been treated for everything from ringworm to scabies. Many trips to doctors and have tried every cream, ointment and everything from oatmeal to clear finger nail polish. We are at our wits end. Please advise me on what to do. Thanks.

We are currently treating it as eczema and he is on elidel and triamcinolone cream, we have tried tanning beds and bleach baths. No relieve, this has been going since last Nov. The dermatologist wants to put him on methotraxate (sp?) (chemo drug). I am nervous, any advice???? He also has a history of lymes disease a few years ago..any possible connection?????
The rash spread to the back of my legs, underneath my arms/ armpits, pretty much everywhere! I went to see a nurse practitioner at CVS and she told me it was ringworm and prescribed some cream that was over $100 so I used over the counter products. After 2 weeks of minimal results I went to see another doctor and he thought it was a fungus as well and said it was severe and referred me to a dermatologist and come to find out it was hives!
Visual diagnosis 3 years ago as plaque psoriasis in the genital area and prescribed Triamcinolone cream 1%. When I felt itchy, I began using the cream immediately. Within a week to 2 weeks of using a small amount of the cream daily my skin healed. Unfortunately it would recur within about a month. Visited derm dr. recently and he diagnosed as herpes. I have not used the cream and have had a lot of pain and outbreak in the same 2 sites.

Heck yes it can be ringworm. Ringworm can cause folliculitis and present like this, especially early stages of it, or certain strains.
Try applying an OTC anti-fungal ointment on the boils (clotrimazole `% twice daily or terbinafine once daily). If it's ringworm, you will see marked improvement after 1-2 days. You should keep applying the cream for the full treatment period though to make sure all the spores are gone. Run all clothes and bedlinens through a HOT dryer.
prescribed Fluocinonide cream usp 0.05 by TARO, I also have on hand Triamcinolone Acetonide cream usp 0.1. Are they interchangeable The rash is getting larger and itches as it grows.
ok so i have started gettin spots that look like ringworm it started on my elbow it was a patch that looked like ringworm but it took a while to go away even tho i was using the cream but now like weeks later im gettin little ringworm spots all over i have one on my cheek one above the eye 1 on each forearm one on my thigh and a few on my back they look just like ringworm to me they are small area's not noticeable much the ones on my body arms are red the ones on my face are just skin color

It has been like this for maybe 4mths and was probably caused by not using a condom.
In the past i treated it with Canestan cream and it stopped it drying out but was occasionally itchy.
It never quit so i saw a doctor who put me on some tablets (sorry don't have name) and i had to apply triamcinolone acetonide lotion twice a day after showering.

I slept with a prostitute ( protected ) and got a fungal infection on my back a week or two later ( ringworm ) ...
It was protected so no HIV risk here.. . I also tested negative conclusively for this....
Ringworm won't look like a pimple- so I don't think the pimple is really associated, it's like just a pimple that will heal up.
If you haven't seen it clear up with the creams your doctor gave you, I'd recommend heading back to your doctor to have a second look- I'd lean more towards it's likely eczema if the cream you were given didn't clear it up.
Ringworm is a fungus, it is not a worm. It is called ringworm because the lesions that it causes are circular and raised up around the ring. While ringworm is not dangerous, it can make you MISERABLY itchy! You need to take your nephew to a doctor or to a dermatologist who can prescribe an antifungal medication to get rid of the ringworm. It would also be a good idea for the person who owns the dog to take the dog to the vet so it can be treated as well.
So I am pregnant and just saw today that I have ringworm. Will this affect my pregnancy? And if I use an anti-fungal ointment to treat the ringworm will it affect anything? Its in its beginning stages so its not bad at all right now.

It is very evident you have been symptom surfing. There are many causes of ringworm, least of all, a compromised Immune System from HIV. There is Nothing HIV specific about Ringworm. Do you have pets? Do you share a shower or tub with others. Do you share a washing machine with others? These are just examples of causes of ringworm. I've had ringworm and I'm in perfect health.Where do you make the connection between Hepatitis and Ringworm ? Your NEGATIVE HIV TEST was CONCLUSIVE.
