Avatar f tn I know what you are going through every time Cree Cree gets sick it is call 911 and he is in the hospital for at least 5 days. he goes into repiratory distress. i can remembe when he was 5 weeks old and so sick he had RSV and after 15 days in the hospital(11 on a vent) we came home my 2 middle children were also sick I had to give the 3 younger boys their nebulizer treatments every 3 hours, and that ususally takes about 25 minutes per person to do.
649670 tn?1314366634 We took her to the ER Sunday morning and they tested her and took xrays. She had RSV, Bronchiolitis and a partially collapsed lung. Her pulse was like 200 and her oxygen level was in the lower 80's and should be at least a 92. She was admitted and finally we were able to come home on the 25th. She was very very sick and RSV is fatal. Needless to say I just called and switched Dr's offices.
377012 tn?1283965435 (crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!
Avatar n tn today my son was not getting better, I had took him to his doctor and he had to get a breathing treatment. I kow that my son will get better before we go home to Washington!! I know that there will be a cure for RSV. MY SON WILL GET BETTER!!
Avatar n tn My son is 10.5 mths old, for the last 12 weeks he has been suffering from RSV...for the first month we were give a bronchodialter, which helped for 2.5 weeks....finally after much persistance the pediatrician pegged him as having Irritable Airway Disease as well. Is this RAD? We have him on a few inhalers...what should we be looking for or is there any other treatment available? He has all of the symptoms of RSV...
Avatar f tn I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?
Avatar n tn It usually manifest itself as a cold in adults and older children, but can cause serious problems in infants. RSV can cause lower respitory infections, breathing problems, pneumonia or even death. According to statistics, over 125,000 infants are hospitalized annually with Respiratory Syncytial Virus, resulting in more than 500 deaths. RSV can be contracted by placing your hand in your mouth after you have come in contact with an infected person or surface.
Avatar f tn Tylenol and Motrin always brings it down. He has tested negative for Influenza A, Strep, RSV, Chest Xray is clear, and Urine is clear. He has not had any bloodwork yet. What else could this possibly be?
Avatar f tn If I were u I would take him to the hospital. Its better for them to catch it early before it gets worse if it is rsv. Trust me they will put your baby first before anybody else that's there. Thats what happened to me.

1690584 tn?1340297472 Savannah was admitted to the hospital for RSV, Bronchitis, Ear Infection. Stayed until Saturday but was released earlier then she should have been due to Christmas. Her oxygen levels were still not staying up high but she is now doing better. She does have a partial collapse of the right lung and they want to no check her heart due to some blue around the mouth.
Avatar f tn Do you think she could still have RSV? My reason for not going back to the doctor is that where I live, flu and a serious stomach virus are really bad. I don't want to take her in and expose her to those things unless absolutely necessary.
Avatar f tn I have a 1 yearold and a 2yearold, that for the last 6months i can count the days in between to the day that they get sick?they start out with congestion and then a cough which has lead to bronchitis, pneumonia, and rsv?which out of those 6 months each one has had pneumonia, with rsv together and by itself?and my 2yearold has had bronchitis more? I keep taking em to their pediatrician and our hospitals ER and they just continue antibiotics with breathing treatments and steriods?what should i do?
Avatar n tn I feel for you. We were in the hospital twice with RSV last winter with our little guy. He has NO effects and the doctors have said nothing about long term effects. It's scary seeing them on oxygen and it's true, it just has to run it's course. They will probably keep you a few days after he IS well to monitor him. They did with our little guy anyway. Our little guy does have asthma but it's a mild case and I have never been told it was related to RSV.
1192157 tn?1264734115 He goes to a pediatric pulmonologist and has a sweat test and a swallow test done they were both negative. What could be the reason for this it is always in his left lung Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Our doctor said antibiotics will not do anything for RSV. The also gave him nebuliser treatment to help with chest congestion. Make sure to keep up with fluids.
Avatar f tn What is the cause and treatment of mouth odour in toddlers. My son of 20 months has mouth odour and its getting me worried. Please advice me.
1035252 tn?1427227833 Yep the title says it all. my daughter is driving me insane. she refuses to keep clothes on and I KNOW that we live in FL so our winters are mild right now (although we had several weeks of consistently below-freezing weather last winter) but the only way we can keep her clothed and warm at night is to either put her in the ONE long-sleeved onesie we have that fits her, or put a long-sleeved shirt on and put a normal onesie OVER that to keep her from removing it.
193609 tn?1292180293 They did a breathing treatment while we waited for the RSV test to come back. (he is getting the RSV vaccine) After the test came back negative we had to do another breathing treatment. They finally sent us home with a nebulizer and I have to give him a breathing treatment every 4 hours until we can get into the ped on monday!!! If its not one thing its another with this kid!!!!
Avatar m tn Hello, my fellow dragon-fighting friends. I haven't been on this board for so long I was surprised it remembered my user name and password. I've seen all of this excitement about Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse, etc. with regard to weight loss, much more energy and improved memory. I haven't taken any yet because I wanted to do some research on it first, as any good HepC patient should do.
Avatar f tn When my 4 year old had RSV when he was 5 weeks old, also on a vent for 11 days, (he had RSV a second time when he was 2 1/2 in the hospital 5 days no vent.) they said he could end up having asthma. Every time we go see the pulmonologist *sorry if I spelled it wrong, they ask how often does he couh at night. None, doen't cough in the day time either only when he is sick. So from what I was told and understand it does sound like he has asthma.
Avatar n tn I will start treatment in 2004 but in the meantime I am looking for a group that will hopefully a) be uplifting with success stories (so I know there's hope) b) tell me what I can expect during treatment so I know how to prepare taking care of my two toddlers while on treatment and c) help advise how to cope with some of the side effects from the treatment.
Avatar n tn Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is pretty much related to age. That is, as he ages, the frequency of RSV should progressively diminish.
Avatar f tn I would be really careful my daughter was a preemie and as soon as we got home she ended up back in the hospital with rsv because this is the time of year its out. And because she was so small she almost died and ended up in a childrens hospital for 5 weeks. It was horrible.
