I keep it trimmed back to allow for new nail growth, but it gets to a certain point and develops this gross looking end to it. She has had IV antibiotics twice as well as antibiotic and antifungal pills, and it was non-responsive to the drugs. Tested negative for MRSA. Finger hurts and is pinkish-red. But in this case I wouldn't try a bunch of things on it I would see a doctor for it. There might have been some chaffing or something along with moisture that started it and bacteria got in.

Avatar n tn one of them had the same width as the others, but was about three times as long. i was able to remove two of them with my fingernail, they looked like little black pepper flakes. i was able to get most of the long one, but a cant get the remaining particle, and the fourth one seemed to be imbedded. the pthers easily popped out with a little jostling.
Avatar f tn Sounds like you have a fungus/yeast infection that you tested positive for. :>) i'm glad they cultured you so you know what this is. are you taking the pill to treat it or using creams. I really like the synthetic oral (pill) medication the doctor can prescribe myself. anyway, it just must be persistent and I would keep at treating it. Probiotics are a way to help the body establish a healthy ph of the vagina.
