travatan

709537 tn?1232584855 Hello, My husband is concerned about side effect he is experiencing since starting Travatan eye drops. In the process of diagnosing possible glaucoma He has been prescribed Travatan [travoprost opthalmic solution) 0.004% 1 gtts Left Eye per day. On day 3 of using these drops he is experiencing the following symptoms: tenderness of the eye [feels bruised when touching lid].
Avatar n tn I had surgery and a stent was placed in my right eye. I have been taking Travatan Z drops from June until yesterday (10/13/16). I had an appointment with my eye doctor yesterday and he told me to stop taking the Travatan drops. I have noticed eyelash growth. I have discovered this is a side effect of the drops. Most of what I read says once the drops are discontinued, the eyelash growth is reversible. What does that mean? How is it reversible?
Avatar n tn I have not been cleared by my doctor to discontinue the nightly Travatan Z drop .....The surgeon turns his patients over to a optometrist in the practice for continued cataract care, so I haven't seen my doctor since the surgery. In a few days, I have an appointment with a rheumatologist (new patient) and plan to request corticosteroid shots in two fingers and foot. Do you believe there would be a problem with me having the shots? Or any other rheumatoid arthritis meds? Thank you....
Avatar n tn He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?
493068 tn?1224765315 My opthalmologist just gave me Lotemax reluctantly because of glaucoma. Is this rosacea suppose to be this paiful? I take Doxy daily, Travatan, erythromycin eye ointment. I am just at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.
493068 tn?1224765315 I use Travatan drops for the glaucoma so is there a difference Travatan Z? I do eye srubs every dayx2 with mild cetaphil soap since I have the inflammatory Rosacea on my face as well. I need relief somehow. My eyes burn all the time. It has been so difficult the last few weeks. I really appreciate you help. Hopefully I spelled correctly. It hurts to look at his screen. btw i also have plugs.
Avatar m tn Hi l have been taking Azarga eye drops ( Timolol and Brinzolamide0 for 8 years twice a day with not much side effects except some dry eye, but recently it stopped being as effective in lowering the pressure so my eye specialist also put me on Travatan also ( Travoprost ) so l am now taking azarga twice a day and travatan one a day, the additional travatan has been successful in lowering my presssure but taking all these drops making my eyes more dry and slightly sore.
Avatar n tn And the new doctor suggested to use Travatan. Is there any difference between Latanoprost and Travatan?
Avatar f tn I had cataract surgery and now my eye is, I guess (according to opth.) permanently dilated. He said if it didn't correct itself within a few months, it was permanent and nothing could be done. Has anybody had this experience or can someone advise if there may be something that can be done?
Avatar m tn t find the article again ( net ) or any like it . I was on Travatan and Kosopt ( one drop each ) that reduced OP to under 20 for open angle Glaucoma--vision went from 20-30 best corrected to 20-80 in a year-- after a dozen specialists some of which said there wasn't anything wrong with the eye and vision should be 20-20 My current doctor ( after taking web advice to keep trying and not give up ) said I may be having a toxic reaction to my drops .
Avatar n tn My opth has diagnosed me with blepharitis, I use sterilid w/ compresses and take flaxseed oil, and I also use preservative free eyedrops for moisture. However nothing has worked to my satisfaction besides tobradex which I've used for about a year and half- my eyelid inflammation is pretty severe even with the other treatments, however w/ tobradex my symptoms are almost nonexistent.
Avatar m tn To add to my eye history, I was diagnosed with floppy eye lid syndrome and due to my eye pressure being high 20(left)/26(right) we did some follow up tests and found some peripheral vision loss so I was also diagnosed with open angle glaucoma and I am trying Travatan in my right eye now. I would like to get your opinion if I should see a neuro opthamologist to further investigate whats wrong with the pupil and/or get second opinion.
Avatar m tn I saw a neuro-opth and asked her if an ocular migraine could last that long. Her response was yes. I'm having similar issues right now and on prednisone to clear up the blurred vision. When I taper down 10mg, the blurring comes back within a couple of days. Neuro-opth and GP don't think it's optic neuritis, and the VEP is tomorrow. I would highly recommend a neuro-opth if you can find one. I saw a regular opth for this back in October and she didn't find anything wrong.
359574 tn?1328360424 Had it all of May. Went to the neuro-opth and he said it was viral conjunctivitis. Did some drops for a few days, went back and was pronounced cured. Pain started up again, but eventually faded away. It came back in July for a while, and now I've had it again since the first of Oct. Called the neuro-opth to talk to his nurse and see if there was any point in taking off work to see him.
Avatar f tn It varies depending on the surgeon and how severe the glaucoma is and what other glaucoma medications the person is on. Some surgeons stop latanoprost and other similiar drugs Lumigan and Travatan Z others don't.
Avatar f tn Since the L eye, I have had diplopia and have been told it is due to the anesthesia needle. I have seen a ped. opth. and been given temporary prism glasses. He seems ready to go ahead with the muscle surgery. I have read several of Dr. Hagan's papers on the subject and my specific question is: What is the longest amount of time it has taken for this type of double vision to resolve by itself without surgery? On Sept. 18 I will be at 3 months.
Avatar m tn I have been using Travatan for a few days which was prescribed for me by an eye surgen. My eye became blood shed (just one, the other is not bad). The manual does say red eye is one of the side effects, but I find it abnormaly red and there is a mild dull pain. Is this normal? Shall I stop using it at least for one eye?
1475492 tn?1332884167 If your MS Specialist order the consult to the Neuro-opth, then yes, your Neuro-opth will dictate his/her impression and send it to your primary and MS Specialist. Yes the Neuro-opth will include everything in their report. Good luck with your next tests.
Avatar n tn We tried to visit her ped. opth. and it was a nightmare. We waited for 2 hours to get her eyes dialated and they still had not seen us. I am trying to get an appointment with a Ped. Opth. at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in hopes that they can give us more information. Do you have any idea as to what may be going on with her eyes? Also, I don't know what questions or tests to ask for when I finally get the appointment set.
Avatar m tn You may need switched to Travatan Z which is both stronger and gentler on the eye. The IOP in your eye changes hourly so there is no "safe" IOP.
Avatar m tn 10 or 12 years ago I had cataract surgery on both eyes. 3 or 4 years after that, I had a small retina tear in the right eye, which my regular opth quickly lasered and watched every 6 months. Last Christmas season (late Dec 2015), I developed a retina detachment in that eye. The opth quickly sent me to a specialist. By the time I was in surgery 4 days later, I had a small window of vision in the bottom outside corner of about 10%.
Avatar m tn I saw a neuro-opthomalogist and a neuro-otologist/ENT and radiologist. Opth Dr said I was fine (no signs of retinal detach and will see me again in a month), and the oto-ENT said I have hyper nervous system tendencies which are migraine in nature. He suspects I have a migrainal (a non-headache type) condition which has caused some dizziness (more of a detached, spacey feeling).
Avatar n tn They said that I have to see a general opth first before I can see a retina specialist. It does not make sense to me because my old specialist said I don't need see a general opth because he covers more than what general opths do. This new clinic I'm seeing wants to charge me twice: today I already paid $165 for the general opth visit and I'll be charged again for the retina specialist. Should I be wary of their practice?
Avatar m tn My question is, in June I started having irritation in my eyes mostly the right, went and was checked by my Opth. who said it was allergies. I was seeing 20/30 in the right eye wearing -3.75D. Within the last 5 months I've had to change glasses twice, I'm now wearing -5 in the left eye and seeing 2070 and seeing 20/50 wearing -4.50 in the right.
