transderm-scop

Avatar f tn I am in need of finding a better treatment for all this nausea (side effect of the triple treatment for my Hep C) and was wondering if any of you have tried the Transderm-Scop patches that you wear for 72 hours. Have tried Zofran and all it gave me was enormous headaches, now using the Phenegran but needed it every 4 hours like clockwork.....ANY opinions and information will be greatly appreciated.
1903798 tn?1333905288 I think I am going to talk to my PCP about it tomorrow it says it is a anticholinergic agent used for preventing nausea and vomiting associted with motion sickness and recovery from anesthesia and surgery. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. They said when you remove it to wash your hands really well because the med on the sticker can dialate your eyes and I don't remember what else.
Avatar n tn I have tried antivert, valium, and the Transderm Scop patch to treat it. The patch helped for a while, but in the past few days seems to have stopped working. Also in the last few days I have had upset stomach, gas, and mild diarrhea. I have been drinking pedialite and gatorade to treat dehydration if that's what it is/prevent dehydration. I am completely at my wits end - I can't work or drive or function or do anything but lie down and not move my head or focus on anything.
Avatar f tn Has anyone that has gastricparesis tried Zelnorm? It was working for me and than they took it off the market. My doctor just suggested a drug from Canada named domperidone. Does anyone have any experience with this drug. I tried Reglan and couldn't handle the side affects. Erithamyacin made me break out in a rash. Right now I depend on Zofran for the throwing up and sometimes it doesn't help.
Avatar f tn I've actually been wondering for quite a while if thyroid meds could be delivered via "transderm patch", like they do with motion sickness meds, birth control hormones, etc. Yes, they would be especially great for delivering a continuous dose of T3, but they would have their uses for T4 also. For one, they would bypass the gut and all the interections with food and problems with absorbtion. I actually emailed the question to Abbott a while back.
Avatar n tn My wife has had the same symptoms as you after using the Transderm-Scop patch on a 7 day cruise that ended Jan. 20. The symptoms started just over 24 hours after she took the patch off. The first week was Hell; she couldn't even stand up straight because of the dizziness, the nausea was terrible, her vision was so blurred she couldn't see plus she had the worst headache of her life.
Avatar m tn My GP thinks I have meniere's disease. I have been wearing a TransDerm scope patch for motion sickness. It helps a little.
Avatar f tn constant dizziness (unsteadiness) that is only relieved by laying down, nausea (feels like motion sickness), headaches that build up slowly the longer I am sitting up/standing until they become so bad they will keep me up all night..even waking me up from sleep, can't drive because I get so car sick, and reading makes it all 10x worse (except now i'm on meds that are enough to let me read some). This has been going on for 2 1/2 months now.
Avatar f tn Sometimes when I watch a movie and they zoom in I also get motion sickness.

Lol it was terrible, I would get so mad at BD for every little turn he made Lol.. it does go away and I was so happy when it did, I would avoid leaving the house unless I absolutely HAD to go somewhere, I just hybernated myself Lol.
Avatar f tn Can motion sickness be associated with morning sickness, or is it just from my stomach being more sensitive?
Avatar n tn I just recently took a long plane trip(6 hours time difference) and since returning I have had debilitating motion sickness plus horrible anxiety. I am on day 6 of this. Could this be hormones? I am 51 years old and haven't had a period in 7 months. I don't know what to do. I can not function because I am quite dizzy and feel sick to my stomach. I am considering making an appt with a neurologist. Help!

Avatar n tn In the mean time I saw a ENT he said I needed to get off the patch so my body would normalize on its own, and believed I had some motion sickness yet brought on by the cruise and did not know how long it would last. I then removed the patch a 3rd. time and again became very sick, nausea and vomiting the first 24 hours. The second day I am still light headed and nauseated but and taking phenergan to help with the nausea.
528396 tn?1217526013 Oh, I have FM, and I have terrible motion sickness. My motion sickness takes the form of dizzyness and weakness more than nausea. But it is definitely a type of vertigo. I get sick if I drive for too long, or ride in a bus, etc. And sometimes I'll have the same smyptoms if I get up and move around after sitting or having been still for a long period. A homeopathic motion sickness remedy like Hyland's Motion Sickness pills will work wonders for you with this FM symptom !
Avatar f tn I know this is not really a substance abuse question but cannot really find anywhere else to post this. So I was talking to my bf today about being sick, because I have been out of "gravol" or motion sickness pills for a couple of days. he was pretty shocked to hear that I have been taking between 4 and 10 everyday for that past 3-4 years. I explained that if I don't take them I feel sick and actually vomit (as I had been all morning today).
Avatar n tn Your motion sickness may be caused by many physical things including a middle ear disturbance. Your motion sickness also might be caused emotionally by anxiety. If you think it is the latter you should figure out what you are anxious about and work on that.
7458937 tn?1391882099 I've NEVER had motion sickness before I was pregnant. I'm 8wks tomorrow. Every time I'm in the car or anything moving I feel so sick! Is there anything I can do to ease it some?
Avatar n tn Sometimes it's not just motion sickness, it's a combination of nerves and excitement over being in the car combined with a touch of motion sickness. First of all, I would put a t-shirt on him. This will keep him from drooling and spitting all over himself in the car. Put down an old blanket or a large towel on the seat to keep him from soaking the seat with drool. Then start taking him for rides.
13335980 tn?1433814733 The constant movement on the game can bring on a motion sickness like thing.
Avatar f tn I was at the OB today as he wanted to check on baby xyz before I headed from my home town 8 hours away for 6 days of camping, then back home for 48 hours and then 8+ hours in the opposite direction for more camping. I asked for Zofran as I am familiar with it due to the beginning of my pregnancy, I am 14 week + 6 days now, and I was unsuccessful in getting it. (I do have 5 or 6 left from my prescription).
5833988 tn?1375121224 Sea sickness is a form of motion sickness, but its perception varies from person to person or from different climatic conditions, types of water, speed of cruise. OTC medications like Cinnarizine/Stugeron,transdermal pathches of Scopolomine/Hyoscine,Promethazine can help you.Though these medications have side effects yet being potential enough to mask Motion sickness. You do not seem to be suffering from 'Mal de debarquement' since you enjoy rides of roller coasters, long drive highways.

Avatar n tn The feeling is a combination of headache and nausea..exact feeling of motion sickness. The only way to get rid of the feeling is to sleep-it-off for a few hours which of course, is rarely practical. Anyone else experience this and had it attributed to the thyroid? Thanks.
