transderm-scop

Avatar f tn I am in need of finding a better treatment for all this nausea (side effect of the triple treatment for my Hep C) and was wondering if any of you have tried the Transderm-Scop patches that you wear for 72 hours. Have tried Zofran and all it gave me was enormous headaches, now using the Phenegran but needed it every 4 hours like clockwork.....ANY opinions and information will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have tried antivert, valium, and the Transderm Scop patch to treat it. The patch helped for a while, but in the past few days seems to have stopped working. Also in the last few days I have had upset stomach, gas, and mild diarrhea. I have been drinking pedialite and gatorade to treat dehydration if that's what it is/prevent dehydration. I am completely at my wits end - I can't work or drive or function or do anything but lie down and not move my head or focus on anything.

Avatar n tn My wife has had the same symptoms as you after using the Transderm-Scop patch on a 7 day cruise that ended Jan. 20. The symptoms started just over 24 hours after she took the patch off. The first week was Hell; she couldn't even stand up straight because of the dizziness, the nausea was terrible, her vision was so blurred she couldn't see plus she had the worst headache of her life.
Avatar f tn He sent me for a hearing test, which was normal. Then he took me off Antivert and had me try transderm-scop patches but I had an allergic reaction to it. So now I'm on Valium and Compazine. I would say those medications help about 50% of the way. I don't feel as dizzy, but if I'm up and about too long I eventually need to lay down. The nausea is mostly gone as long as I keep with the compazine.
Avatar f tn I've actually been wondering for quite a while if thyroid meds could be delivered via "transderm patch", like they do with motion sickness meds, birth control hormones, etc. Yes, they would be especially great for delivering a continuous dose of T3, but they would have their uses for T4 also. For one, they would bypass the gut and all the interections with food and problems with absorbtion. I actually emailed the question to Abbott a while back.
Avatar n tn the realmattj suggested will be enough to detox your son or daughter from xanax. We have no idea how much they were taking, or if the above suggested medication(s) would be the best route. Are you able to see a doctor or go to a clinic? Please post and let us know how you and the person you are posting for is doing. Well wishes to you.... S.
Avatar f tn Has anyone that has gastricparesis tried Zelnorm? It was working for me and than they took it off the market. My doctor just suggested a drug from Canada named domperidone. Does anyone have any experience with this drug. I tried Reglan and couldn't handle the side affects. Erithamyacin made me break out in a rash. Right now I depend on Zofran for the throwing up and sometimes it doesn't help.
706116 tn?1229191877 As far as the condom failures go, they have happened twice with CSW supplied condoms (I know not which brand) and once with ones I supplied, Trojan Magnums. I tend to have very vigorous intercourse with CSW's and that is what I attribute the breakage to. I am careful to never cause injury to my CSW partners, several of whom are regulars, and I never use any oil based lubricants. The only lube I use with a CSW is AstroGlide that I bring to the appointment so I know where it's been.
Avatar f tn I switched from a RE in Czech Republic who did my IVF and supplied my progesterone- vaginal suppositories, to a local OBGYN who gave me a further prescription for progesterone in the form of prometrium capsules (the little pink 100mg balls). My prescription says to be taken vaginally, but the info leaflet says to be taken orally. Can you take the same capsule either orally or vaginally as a suppository?
1903798 tn?1333905288 I was really sick to my stomach the morning I was to fly home so I asked for NS to call in a sticker and I have been fine since (3 days now). I am just wondering if those with nausea problems have tried transderm scopolamine 1.5 mg dis. I think I am going to talk to my PCP about it tomorrow it says it is a anticholinergic agent used for preventing nausea and vomiting associted with motion sickness and recovery from anesthesia and surgery.
617846 tn?1231553233 I suffer from profound episodes of vertigo, so the doctor has prescribed me a 1.5 mg transderm patch. I only use it when the vertigo is extremely severe. My problem is this: When I apply the patch, (behind the ear, either right or left) I immmediately experience extreme anisocoria in whichever eye is nearer the patch. While I am curious about this, mostly because it is not listed under side/adverse effects,it is not my priority concern.
Avatar m tn Tomorrow I will be doing my 3rd shot and have struggled with the nausea and vomiting. I'm on Zofran and Transderm-Scop patch - which is the patch behind the ear that lasts for 72 hours. Between the two, I have it under control, although I can definitely tell when both of them are due. I've tried to stop both of them independently, but as soon as I do, I'm back to square one. Hope this help.
Avatar m tn The information supplied is very small. To be honest given the circumstances, I would consider a trip to the ER. They would do an ecg and also blood work and further evaluation. The bp numbers are quit high and the normal guideline is if systolic is over 180 its time for urgent er evaluation.
Avatar f tn He is 9 yrs old and is autistic. He has excessive drooling, we have tried ot, his diet. reminders to swallow, transderm patches, ect....... I am now looking into surgery to cauterize the glands and I was also informed there are botox shots that nay help, It does not bother me, but its starting to effect him, and his teachers are pushing me to have something done, becuuae i think it just annoys them, that they have to change his Bandanna he wears around his neck to catch the drool.
Avatar f tn I seen my Mom go through this pain, patches such as transderm, fetanyl,or ms contin (morphine extended release)every twelve hours with say percoset every 6 hours for breakthrough pain(as needed) is best and not to sedating. The patches are best for the constipation, wich I'm sure you'll have.Wobenzyme is supposed to be good for that.I don't want you to be in pain .Run these suggestions by your oncologist.A stool softener in senokot for constipation is a must.
Avatar f tn They supplied formula, pacifier, diapers, blankets, wipes, everything. For me, they supplied shampoos, conditioners, soaps. I used the underwear and pads that they supplied.
Avatar f tn Yes all is supplied, but they don't supply nappies for baban
Avatar f tn I was a first time when I packed my things for the hospital and I wound up packing for things the hospital already supplied. Looking back I only needed a going home outfit, Something for the baby to wear going home and something comforable to wear while at your stay at the hospital. They supplied me with underwear which was super comfy, toiletries and towel/ wash cloth.
Avatar n tn It does sounds like you were experiencing angina, which is chest pain that occurs when the heart muscle demands more oxygen than what is being supplied. Common caused of angina are narrowed coronary arteries and hypoxia (very low blood oxygen caused by respiratory disorders and/anemia). You should talk to your doctor as you may be a good candidate for a low dose nitroglycerin patch which opens the coronary vessels to increase oxygen supply to the heart.
Avatar n tn I would say that your hearing being clogged up is due to the increased blood flow to the eardrum,as of this rapid increase blood flow, if you can imagine your eardrum throbbing because of the pulse of the blood from the heart. The continual pattern of blood being supplied causes the blocked up feeling as more blood is being supplied to the head than usual. This of which you are not used to. Have you had your blood pressure taken lately?
Avatar m tn Cynomel is like Cytomel but made in France. The french version works the best. There was a site that supplied it but it is now non operational (not sure why). I am searching for an elderly uncle. The other brands give him adverse effects that he can't tolerate. Thank you for your responses.
Avatar m tn Case study, there is a 58 year old female at the clinic for follow up angina appointment. Last visit she was started on NTG transderm 0.4 mg/hr every 24 and sublingual NTG 0.4 mg PRN. Durign her first week of therapy, her weekly angina episodes decreased from 4 to 1 per week. After three weeks her episodes returned to 4 weekly. All occurred with activity and were relieved by rest and sublingual nitro. Her daily medications include Digoxin 0.
Avatar n tn In the mean time I saw a ENT he said I needed to get off the patch so my body would normalize on its own, and believed I had some motion sickness yet brought on by the cruise and did not know how long it would last. I then removed the patch a 3rd. time and again became very sick, nausea and vomiting the first 24 hours. The second day I am still light headed and nauseated but and taking phenergan to help with the nausea.
