transderm-scop

Avatar f tn I am in need of finding a better treatment for all this nausea (side effect of the triple treatment for my Hep C) and was wondering if any of you have tried the Transderm-Scop patches that you wear for 72 hours. Have tried Zofran and all it gave me was enormous headaches, now using the Phenegran but needed it every 4 hours like clockwork.....ANY opinions and information will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have tried antivert, valium, and the Transderm Scop patch to treat it. The patch helped for a while, but in the past few days seems to have stopped working. Also in the last few days I have had upset stomach, gas, and mild diarrhea. I have been drinking pedialite and gatorade to treat dehydration if that's what it is/prevent dehydration. I am completely at my wits end - I can't work or drive or function or do anything but lie down and not move my head or focus on anything.

Avatar n tn 5 of Meclizine to reduce to and cut the time in half ... and thankfully, it worked like a charm! I can tell you, it wasn't an easy withdrawal but it was successful! The one thing I did do was take the meclizine within 18 hours of taking off the patch and used it in combination with the Zofran to avoid feeling sick. It worked and I so VERY MUCH appreciate your input, guidance and support.
Avatar f tn I've had some suggestions to cut the pills in half, but I have capsules, not tablets and they cannot be cut in half. What should I do??
1059594 tn?1261323966 Isn't Opana Time Released? I know you're the doctor, but I don't think you should inform people to cut their medications in half, ESPECIALLY if they're time released as this could cause a rapid release of all the medication in turn making her more sick, or am I wrong? This discussion is related to New Medication - Side Effects.
Avatar f tn Yes, my pill can be split in half. I don't have a pill spliter, so I am wondering if I can use a knife to cut it. I already cut it actually and it split right in half. My pill has a "divit" like a divider already so it cut very easily.
Avatar n tn Be careful regarding withdrawal from any benzodiazapine, especially xanax, because of its short half life. I would strongly recommend withdrawaling under a doctor's supervision so he can work out a proper taper plan with you. We do not recommend taper plans here at Medhelp, and there is no way to know whether the "cocktail" the realmattj suggested will be enough to detox your son or daughter from xanax.
Avatar n tn I wanted to know if I can cut the pills in half. Would taking 250mg. be as effective? All the symptoms of my uti are gone. I was supposed to take the pills for 7 days and I stopped after 4 because of side effects.
Avatar f tn Metoprolol 25 mg. Does it make a difference in what I'm taking, wether I can cut in half or not? The PA knows what I am taking and he told me just to cut it.
Avatar f tn He sent me for a hearing test, which was normal. Then he took me off Antivert and had me try transderm-scop patches but I had an allergic reaction to it. So now I'm on Valium and Compazine. I would say those medications help about 50% of the way. I don't feel as dizzy, but if I'm up and about too long I eventually need to lay down. The nausea is mostly gone as long as I keep with the compazine.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if Harvoni tablets can be cut in half or crushed to take easier, mixed with jello or yogurt to insure that it is absorbed. My digestive system is fast. I can not find anything in the literature that says you can or can not break in half.
351317 tn?1204751871 The 10mg zyrtec is too strong for me so can I cut it in half and take 5mg instead?
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed in July of 2006 and was diagnosed with gastric paresis in Sept. I was diagnosed first with irratiable bowel syndrome and I went back in after 5 months of pain and said I wanted my gallbladder checked. It was out 4 days later. I'm trying to find out if there was injury to my vagus nerve and was it caused by the surgeon. Any experience with this?
Avatar f tn In theory, cloning the new thyroid tissue from stem cells and modiffying immune system so it would stop attcking the thyroid should take care of this problem; this approach was selected to treat the diabetes [without modifying genetics though]
Avatar f tn Yes its ok to cut it in half. It should have a little place on the pill where to cut it. If you want to be absolutely sure you can always ask your pharmacist.
2080475 tn?1332126191 Wow, a coma, not good! I am very glad you have two weeks worth of meds left. I would also try to taper down as much as I could from what you have left. If you have the strips, cut, cut, cut! If you have pills, cut, cut, cut! I know how hard it is, I've been on them for like 690 days and wish I would have NEVER went the sub route. And yes, these addicted brains are VERY cunning and baffling, that's why aftercare is such a must. Do you attend any meetings, counseling, etc?
617846 tn?1231553233 I suffer from profound episodes of vertigo, so the doctor has prescribed me a 1.5 mg transderm patch. I only use it when the vertigo is extremely severe. My problem is this: When I apply the patch, (behind the ear, either right or left) I immmediately experience extreme anisocoria in whichever eye is nearer the patch. While I am curious about this, mostly because it is not listed under side/adverse effects,it is not my priority concern.
907968 tn?1292622204 I did the same thing back in February, getting nervous about my cholesterol blood tests. Things came out great back then with the exception that my overall cholesterol number was low, 106 mg/dl from 130 mg/dl three months earlier. Monday (5-17-10) I see my PCP to go over these numbers as well as to discuss another newly diagnosed ear problem for the first time (superior canal dehiscence). Currently I take a 40mg Simvastatin every night.
1903798 tn?1333905288 I was really sick to my stomach the morning I was to fly home so I asked for NS to call in a sticker and I have been fine since (3 days now). I am just wondering if those with nausea problems have tried transderm scopolamine 1.5 mg dis. I think I am going to talk to my PCP about it tomorrow it says it is a anticholinergic agent used for preventing nausea and vomiting associted with motion sickness and recovery from anesthesia and surgery.
Avatar n tn a few days ago, a painful lump appeared at the very back of my lower gum, (the skin right at the back between the side of my face and my teeth) after 2 days i felt a sort of flap of skin, at closer inspection it was a small cut about half a centimeter in length and about a millimeter in depth. it constantly feels uncomfortable and it is extreemly painful when i eat and if i speak for a short period of time.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the MS community, your Autism question has landed in the wrong community but we do have a some parents in our community that have ASD kids so we still might be able to help you a little... Firstly, I think you need to do is to get him assessed by at least an ear, nose and throat specialist, solutions differ greatly depending on the causation, surgery, botox, therapy, skill set training etc will only benefit him if the underlying cause is being taken into account.
